This game immediately jumped off the page for me, and after crunching some numbers it looked just as good....Lackey has given up 3 runs or less in 8 of his last 10 starts. He's 9-4 and going for that 10 win mark. ERA of 2.7 with a 1.19 WHIP. Lohse really seels this under for me.....He wasnt throwing like hes capable for most of the year, but he is now. In his last 3 starts (all unders) he's rockin a 1.54 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP. I still think he does worst tonite, and I still believe Lackey catches the 10 win mark tonite. 4-2 Angels

yeah, the ump is keeping me off this total Hile. Liked the pitcher #'s but upon further review i just couldnt pull the proverbial trigger myself but will certainly be rooting for ya man.

Lohse last 10 has had 4 strike out in 3 of his games. Not really very dependent on them. Angels a big under after a loss while reds go under after wins. The argument for over is------the umpire. When I lived in Vegas I was good friends with a guy called Buddy. Most betting groups considered him the best in the state at baseball. He tracked umpires very carefully but told me as a rule if you like a direction you bet it regardless of the umpire. Almost every good bettor I have ever known makes fun of people who bet solely based on the umpire. Has anyone offered any reason for this to go over besides the umpire? Not heard of any. He's 2-6 with a 5.11 ERA and allowing hitters an average of .302. Against the Halos, he was hit HARD in his last 3 games. Throw in the angle that the ump has a tight strikezone...nothing but trouble for this guy tonite. In addition, I'm a huge Halo fan...but, I still think Lackey is a bum. We'll see what happens to him in a hitters park with an ump calling a lot of balls.

no problems guys, and to kick back to one of the earlier comments i dont really get hyped about umps......Afew weeks back I had the Mets/Phills under when the number 1 OVER ump was behind the plate, still bet it, still hit.....I want everyone to realize something about totals....Barring the rare occasion, you only need ONE of the two pitchers to really get it done.

UNDER the 9.5....Bottom line, Thompson gave up 8 runs, Bannister shut out the Cards...If i say the Angels only give up ONE run tonite, I think most will agree that Loshe is good enuff to not concede 8....Just giving everyone another way to look at it.

But I do absolutely LOVE the debate, wish people could have this every day.
