Just a bunch of terrible decisions by me on Tuesday . Sometimes I just see how a line moves and know what the outcome will be and most times I say it fuck and screw myself . Perfect example still playing TB ML despite all the warning signs and the same goes for Arizona. Anyway a long list of mistakes and yet I feel like I had such a good feel for the card. Passed on those West Coast overs the all hit . The best decision of the night was sacking up and playing Colorado ML. Just frustrated . Didnt I start the discussion thread about playing the under 9.5 @ Atlanta !

Enough tears from me !

Day shit :

Florida @ Atlanta :

The Marlins PEN is killing this team ! Only 2-6 on this trip they have choked away 4 games now ...last one @ Shea , last one @ philly and both here in ATL. I had this game down pretty good and silly me didnt play Fla 1st 5 Inn ML and passed in the Under 9.5 settling for an over 9 after the unimagineable line drop I should have known better. Anyway what I am gonna say ?

Tom Glavine and day starts just dont mix. This year his day games where @ Wash when he left injured , vs Cincy , vs NYM and vs Arizona. The mets game we should all remember when Glavine allowed seed after seed in the 1st inning but somehow escaped allowing just 1 run ! Then suddenly the Met bats went dead.

Last few years the splits look the same . In 2007 8 day starts 7.62 ERA 1.72 WHIP and 319 BAA.

Somewhat concerned with both lineups struggling vs LHSP lately but swing fairly well in day games in 2008 .

I wont lay big chalk with Glavine in a day start . So 1st 5 Inn ML for Marlins is of interest. Also Glavine was shelled his 2 Sept starts vs FLA after a decent start in August vs them...

Now Hendrickson has fallen to pieces of late and was shelled last time out in Philly . Last 5 outings he has failed to last 6 innings. 23 INN 35 H 21 runs 13bbs 18Ks . Thats 48 baserunners in 23 innings and a WHIP of 2 + ! Last year in day games hendrickson allowed a 320 something BAA and 5.60 ERA and this year rather limited 2 starts but 11 runs and 16 hits in 10 innings splitting those decisions at 1-1. Actually 1st start vs NYM and the recent one at home vs SF....lotta runs.....

So looking at Florida 1st 5 inn ML , over 10 and maybe 1st inn score YES Prop. Glavine allowed a 1st inning run in all but the 1st Reds start .....scary is that FLA is 9-0-2 L11 games to the Over while ATL has managed 4 ,1,3,and 7 runs last few vs LHSP but the 7 is misleading 4 runs came after the 8th inn and they had but 9 hits.....need warm weather so the Hrs keep coming .

@ Milw -

Who knows . Dbacks have ost 4 of 5 vs LHSP and havent hit any in those losses . Parra is slowoing getting better and has been serviceable at home. Dbacks just arent scoring . Owings has been at his best in day starts so far going 4-0 in 5 starts . Possibly an under but good weather might open the roof....Parra doesnt have good day splits but I would assume that sbecause his day starts have been mainly away ..

@ LAD -

So Cook is much better then Francis so far and this line opens higher ?? Probably look at LAD simply based on that notion. Col has struggled vs LHSP and the KID is at home where he pitched well vs STL a tougher lineuo then Col's . Cook's last 2 away have been terrible and his 06 and 07 seasons didnt produce good work vs LAD . He did a nice job in defeating them at home earlier in 2008 though. Also looking at the over ....

@ SFG -
Niether Cain or Maine have good day splits but I think after a couple of overs thanks to big innings we see some rested vets here and that makes the under attractive with 2 SP capable of shutting lineups down....

@ Oakland -
Might have to forgo the day splits and think UNDER. Oakland didnt do much vs either DTrain or Rogers so Robertson doing decent of late could mirror there results. Oak is simply outlasting DET so far . Durscherer has been real solid but again Tigers stink in day games . Really neitherteam hits much in day starts making the under even more interesting

@ Seattle-
So far in the prior two series Game 3 saw the team trying to avoid a sweep do so. Silva is not good in day games coming off a rough patch of strats while Weaver has been inconsistent but awesome in his career day starts.....10-2 in 16 starts....might go SEA +1.5 RL....lean over with Wolf aiding it...

Thats all I see for no..to tired to go further. Might look at Oswalt and Danks ...

Angel Hernandez, Laz Diaz and CB Bucknor.

Over bettors are in for a treat on Wednesday - playing Russian roulette with 1 empty chamber:36_11_6:

Some observations for Boston/Tampa

Edwin Jackson
9.60 ERA & 1.86 WHIP vs BOS at Fenway, TBY 0-3 SU
0.93 ERA & 1.24 WHIP in his road starts (3) not at Fenway this season

2.45 ERA & 1.42 WHIP vs BOS at home, TBY 3-0 SU.

Ortiz has killed him hitting .411 & 6 BBs in 23 ABs (OBP .565) w/7 RBIs.
Manny, Youkilis, Varitek & Lugo are a combined 5-44 (.113) against him.

Given Big Papi's absence and the "uselessness" demonstrated so far by almost half of the Sox remaining lineup, could Wednesday provide the opening for Jackson to carry his home form against Boston over to Fenway?

Tampa hasn't gone 6 straight games this season without posting at least one 5+ run total - they've scored 1, 2, 2, 4 & 4 runs their last 5 games.
And they're 7-1 SU off their last 8 losses (6-4 SU on the road off a loss this season). However, the last time they lost 2 (& then 3) in a row was vs Boston at Fenway.

Beckett
Home ERA of 5.40 this season, on the back of 4.17 in 07 and 4.84 in 06.
4.50 ERA & 1.28 WHIP at home vs TBY this & last season, BOS 2-0 SU.

Umpire
Boston is 1-4 SU & 0-5 on the RL L5 with this Ump BHP
Tampa is 2-3 SU with this Ump BHP since 05
Beckett is 1-2 SU & 0-3 on the RL with this Ump BHP (from FLA days).

The edges for the Yankees today are
1. Their hitting has improved.
2. Litsch is worse on 5 days rest and at night.
For them to win today the Yankees have to pulp Litsch big first 5.Not sure that would do it but it seems mandatory. Chris Britton might pitch well. Gave up 2 hits yesterday but he is possible. Ramirez had a 9 era vs Toronto going into yesterday. Managed 3 strikes yesterday. Griese pitched well but is unavailable. The rest of the middle relief is massively outclassed. Moose does not seem to pitch well with this ump or at home this season. Thinking Toronto and possiblely a first half over.

...sounds like reasoning for an over bet

Let me clarify a past mistake of mine. I have in the past pointed out Phillie seemed to do very poorly in second game of a home series. What I said was true but inaccurate. It seems that the key is not the second day of series but a day of the week item. The 2 weak days are Saturday and Wednesday. Today I may chance the Reds but a little reluctant because Myers has been playing better and Phillies may well remember their first meeting with this pitcher this year.
Not doing anything with the Brewer game. Truthfully I could mount arguments for both sides easily but the facts are the brewer home edge is considerably reduced today but Melvin the Moron is still managing and the Diamondback base running errors just keep happening. someone on this planet may know why Randy was sent out in the 7th but I do not.

Final action in the Yankee game. Yankees minus 29 cents pick first 5 for .5 a unit and Toronto for 1 unit plus 24cents for the game. Simply do not believe if I lose the first 5 I can lose the larger game bet and see many chances for scoop or push and win.

i wouldnt be so hasty to fade litsh. The kid is a control beast and has walked 2 guys in close to 40 innings. The Yankees are going to have to really hit this guy to get runs. I find that much of yankee run production this year is from drawn walks and bombs following them. Solo shots dont hurt as much and I expect litsh to at least keep the jays in the game..

C.B Bucknor is behind the plate but I agree that Litsch is hardly fade material. It's going to be a small and moving strike zone for both sides.

According to "blankets" Uggla out for Florida and Larry out for the Braves...

A bet on the Cardinas looks close to automatic. Problem is Wellemeyer has a poor road record ths year although a fine one overall. Game 2 is Washington's worst . Washington has massive injuries. Cardinals are putting up a slug in game 3 against Redding and that is the game they play in front of Houston a major rival. Still have not bet it. Interested in Texas and possibly Pitt and Padres.

In this situation. Second game of a 3 game home series off a loss Washington is 0-3 this season. The price has gone to 8 cents. It is enormously more convenient for the Cardinals to win this game and blow off game 3. In for 1 unit. Also played Texas first 5 and game. Texas recalled Loe and another reliever. Not seeing much in the other bring up but willing to try this. Virtually no one has seen Ponson in the Cleveland line up while Texas players have seen Lee and have a hit him fairly well in Texas. Think some of Lee's recent problems were ump related but still see Cleveland as underpowered compared to the past and not seeing how they can be other than a very live dog here.

Just an fyi...surprised it hasnt been mentioned that Ponson is on 3 days rest

Well I am going to try and pound ( as in research not money)the night card which I havent even looked at yet.

As well as try and catch up on everyone's thoughts and opinions. Keep it coming and Good Luck....

Oh and real dark and overcast here in NY . Humidity real high that sticky , muggy feel......might rain soon or might hold off to later ....if it doesnt the ball should be jumpin

Anyone else really like Cleveland w/ Cliff Lee tonight vs Ponson (0-7 vs Tribe in 11 starts)?? Ponson is off 3 days rest.

Do not consider it a good thing but while he has never started before on 3 days rest his era goes up from 4 to 5 and 5 to 6.

Good info SN...

Really Like the OVER with this type of weather. Too bad BUCKNOR changed he's ways and starting calling UNDERS. Maybe we can catch him regressing tonite.

Some observations for Boston/Tampa

Edwin Jackson
Ortiz has killed him hitting .411 & 6 BBs in 23 ABs (OBP .565) w/7 RBIs.
Manny, Youkilis, Varitek & Lugo are a combined 5-44 (.113) against him.

On the flipside, Pedroia (4/9), Jacoby (5/11), Drew (5/12), Lowell (5/15), Coco (5/16) combine to batter him at a .381 clip. And Lugo might sit for Cora (3/9) if Tito decides to play the numbers game.

Not sold on the Rayos just yet, but >+175 is worth a shot, whatwith all the talk on BBTN talk about the Rays not "being legit contenders" until they prove they can win at Fenway.

All 4 players I mentioned are playing. I have live betting for this one so that's avenue into this evening.

If I see a flaw in the Cubs line up I may try Padres first 5 or game. Do like their available relief. Ducking the Reds regretfully. So sitting on Toronto, Texas and Cardinals.

Stealing a total play from a poster at another site who thinks like me. WS over 8.5 plus 5 cents. Last 3 years Miller the ump vs an 8.5 is 8 under 7 over. KCat WSlast 20 vs an 8.5 10 over and 10 under. Luke giving up a million runs recently.KC last 20 on the road 11-9 over.KC after a loss and WS after a win almost pick on over under.

Interesting that Hochevar has gone under in every game he has pitched in, more as a result of lack of support than anything he has done on the mound.

there is nothing I hate more than when this fucking bull shit happens. i bet on pitt in game 1 and they get shut out by wandy rodrigo. tonight i lay my last few bucks on houston and oswalt and of course they lose. riding the wrong ebb and flow. FUCK THE HOUSTON ASTROS THOSE FUCKING C*NTS

How bad is Texas's bullpen?? This team with their top 4 hitters playing as well as they are and this gascan of a pitching staff is an automatic over at home right now.
