-Arizona/SF
Webb is too strong IMO, but odds ar to low. No interests.
-Houston/Philadelphia
What is going on with Oswalt? He is 4-1 when starting against PHILADELPHIA with an ERA of 3.16 and a WHIP of 1.336. Some solid numbers, but still he is not worthy for this price. Maybe if odds will be higher. No interests at the moment
-Atlanta/Florida
Hudson looks dominant right now. But I think Florida is underrated here. First of all Atlanta's offense is not that good on the road. Also their bullpen is nothing special. On other side Florida hits well against RHP. Tasty odds. One thing I don't like. Hudson has good record against Marlins....
-Washington/NYM
Mets will win, but no thanks for this odds. Maybe RL
-Reds/Cubs
Fogg vs Zambrano. Shity odds on Zambrano. Only option is RL.
-brewers/Cardinals
Will see todays game. My lean is StLouis.
-Rockies/Padres
GERMANO is 0-3 when starting against COLORADO with an ERA of 9.14 and a WHIP of 1.838.Thats all I have to say at the moment.
-Pirates/Dodgers
Definitly LAD. But to low odds. Mybe RL
-Tigers/Indians
My first thought is C.C. is struggling and Detroit bats showed something. Also his ERA vs Tigers is 4,30. But I don't know what to do with Galarraga. Maybe over is good option.
-Texas/Toronto
Rangers have been swept by Toronto and LAA. And they are now on L-5 streak. This is one thing. The second thing is that they played today game in Texas and they have to go on north to Canada. But I like the play on them anyway :D
-WS/orioles
Don't know what to do with Contreras and Loewen. Maybe home dog.
-Tampa/Minny
Like Shields here
-KC/LAA
Probably LAA, but only RL.
-Seattle/Oakland
Felix and plus money

this are just my first thoghts

Thinking outloud.....

Under 8 @ SF ? Webb has been his usually self after a rough spring which had me concerned. SF has shown it will hit medicore pitching but not good pitching . Zito has been better last 2 starts but bad defense has hurt him . He had done well vs Zona up until his Sept start vs them and I wonder if thats because by then they had flipped to a RH orientated lineuo from previous years of being LH dominanted.

Tigers ? Sabathia has been terrible , Tigers matchup great vs LHs and now Det has pulled out consecutive late wins.

WSox ? I am the only who believes that Chicago hits LHP better then most and they knocked out another LH SP today by the 5th when after repeatedly leaving men in scoring position they finally got a big hit . ( Greg Smith only LH SP to make it through the 6 inning so far vs them). Quentin hit a 3 run blast followed by a double by Alexei Gonzalez to chase Dana Eveland who is better then his reputation IMO..the negative is having back to Jose Contreras away . Loewen I feel does better vs the LH orientate d teams which is why he has had such success vs NYY.

Yanks ? Wang at home tough to beat and Boston really not hitting all that well. Concerned with Wang pitching such a gem last outing . Bucholz I tip my cap to he is ahead of Phil Hughes at this point ...

Rangers? They stink but Gabbard has been real solid but the scare point is how well Tor has historically hit LHs even though it hasnt happened yet.

Twins and Over ? Livan has done evertying and much more then Minny could have expected through 3 starts. Not sure TB deserves to be road chalk. Shields is solid but still not IMO a proven commodity on the road .

mariners ? King Felix looks fairly solid to date but need to see respective splits for SP's as Blanton is a quality pitcher as we know....

Not sure how healthy meche is and that may lead to an over play...

Over @ Philly : Oswalt is not healthy and certainly it shows in his pitching. Whispers of decling velocity had him contemplating throwing a knuckler this spring . Then he took a line drive in his 1st start vs peavy. So caution in backing him...kendrick hasnt been terrible but his isnt far away and with Houstons lineup the potential is there plus warmer weather expected in this area...

Atlanta : Tough price but I do like how the Braves matchup vs LHP . Hendrickson is long reliever masquaerading as a SP IMO. Huddy has been tough as nails so far . Check the splits but nice spot probably after being shutout..

Interesting game @ Shea probably another UNDER. I'll take my chances with the Mets vs LH SP although a ton of runners starnded todayto aid my under . Chico has potential but is real inconsistent and tough to back away...

Last year Zambrano struggled with Cincy and even vs Fogg tough price to lay..

Probably go back with STL and another under. Villanueva has solid splits vs STL in the past....a tougher matchup then Bush was...

Might be interested in SD as germano has surpassed my expectations to date and maybe an over 8.5 or Over RHE.

No way that price is cheap in LAD but possible -1.5 play as Pitt has alot of SP who have terrible road splits.....:shake:

sportsnut you mean Alexei Ramirez.

Yep. Good catch..thankfully typing is not my strong point and ADD is great for silly errors like that....

with Contreras no less...Sox win 11-10! Shame Jose can be so nasty when in a grove..

i remember when we got him from yanks and he was unreal. so confident. if he could only find that confidence again ...

His velocity is so inconsistent..at times he can be at 92-95 and others 88-91...just such a huge difference and makes that splitter so much tougher..always messing with his arm angles and all...just a shame to see someone so good and capable of great things look like a piece of ...crap ...Guillen already laced into him vs DET..so much potential but for all we know he could b 50....how could you tell?

Will look at the games more tmrw just glanced at them. Minny's recent bullpen woes are a concern although Livan has gone 7 in all 3 of his starts and the pen ha snot allowed a run in his games . I wonder why..probably all Neshek and Nathan. Interested in an over though as TB will send a bunch of LHs at Livanand he didnt fare well vs them in 07. Shields has ben okay but I wouldnt say good and there pen seemed to pitch alot the past week...again hard to believe at somepoint the game isnt 4-4..

Lineups are up for SFG:

From reading some comments I didnt expect Rowand to play as they are giving hime 2 days rest with the off day. I am sort of suprised Ortmeier is not playing since Aurilia is 1/11 against Webb and Webb generally shuts down RHs. I guess Ortmeier givving up SwitchHitting makes his past numbers useless. Durham clearly isnt healthy as he also hits Webb fairly well.

So your left with Winn and his career 12-28 , Molina 2 -6 , Castillo 3-6 , Lewis 0-4 and Aurilia 1-11. Bowker , Bocock and Velez have not seen him yet and clearly Bowker is the interesting bat. Problem with Winn is he is hitting 194 so far vs RHP and Webb is one of the best so hard to take the splits seriously. Thats not all because its really nothing new but his day splits are poor . 182 in 7 games this year and 265 vs 314 last year. The only plus is the fact SFG can at least send 4 LHBs.

Previously Webb has been somewhat medicore for his standards vs SFG. However they did have some tougher LHBs. Bonds was 3/10 with 15 bbs against him. They also featured Roberts , Durham , Vizquel and Klesko at other points with Winn giving him that probably 6 guys who were LH and solid hitters at that. Not so anymore. Its only Fred Lewis and John Bowker who are young and developing.

SFG 231 in day games so far scoring just 3.5 runs per game in large thanks to Bowkers explosion in his 1st 2 games.

SFG vs RHs
Bowker 6/10
Lewis 12 /37
Molina 12/40
Aurilia 9/35
Castillo 12/47
Velez 8/35
Bocock 8/41
Winn 7 /36

74 / 281

17bbs and 49 Ks
18 2bs 2 triples and 2 hrs 21 rbi plus Bowkers triple and 2 hrs , 7 rbi
5/10 Sbs

Home 29/72 bewteen Bowker , Lewis and Molina. 4hr 16 rbi
30 /140 from the rest( 5 players) 0 hr 12 rbi
36 runs in 9 home games

I agree Zito has started to pitch better then his numbers indicate. One mistake to Pujols last outing big difference is STL is not the same type lineup that is Zona is vs LHP. As Backs are hitting 311 so far vs them . Tough to weigh Zito past starts vs Zona because they have changed there makeup alot ...one time alot of LHBs from Gonzo in LF , Tracey at a corner spot , Nixon even played RF last year and there are others who have left over the years to now they are mostly young RHB with power Young , Jackson , Reynolds etc..so cautious with that approach...differemt makeup in Zona these days...

I think Zona was 18 for 60 off Zito last year. Snyder was 5-7 , Young 3-7 , Drew 3/7 , Reynolds 2 /3 and he held Byrnes and Hudson to 2/16 combined and has had success vs teh pair who are hitting 2 and 3 today. They are just 5 -35 lifetime against him but Zito was also much better SP in his AL days....

For SFG to win today I think they must do so in a low scoring game. I am not sure they can pull out a win as they need a gem from Zito IMO who is capable but he faces alot of threats...

For me just going to dabble with the 1st 5 Under and smaller on the game Under...Wegner I think favors and UNDER even though the stats may say differently...

BOL:cheers:

brutal loss on that first five... Webb has a 2 out 2 rbi single and then he reaches on error in his next at bat leading to more runs. You definitely had the right side which is all we can control. game under is still in play atleast. my giants bet isnt looking too good.

Thanks bro. Once they made the error with Webb knew I was in hot water. It happens. I dont get to caught up in how my wins and losses occur . the huge issue was Zito walking the bases loaded with no one out and then being afraid of the SP Webb and starting him with a changeup . Fell behind 2-0 and even the pitcher can hit and 83-85 MPH fastball...the error hurts more....

Good logic and all just poor application...2nd time Zito lost a 1st 5 under for me and hit the game under..happened when he faced Sheets in Milw...

Worse part is I was about to take the RHE Under but it went OTB as I tried...damn things go off 5 minutes earlier.....

Sucks to have a game right and lose 1/2 to 3/4 unit....what can you do no ones fault but my own for overthinking it some. I was somewhat sacred of the SFG pen but was hoping Chulk would come back today. Just couldnt find if it was official or not...

Plenty of games left.....to bad I havent done any research yet..GL VK

what is going on with that orioles game ??? is this the biggest move of the year in baseball ??? i saw them at +115 last night and they are now -125 at the greek. A 40 cent move in baseball ??? Anyone know what this is all about ?? this is very rare.

And it is a steam against the public team in the white sox in favor of the nonpublic team in the orioles. this is wierd ...

Okay I am back and getting ready to look at the rest of whats left...have some pending but not much had to play BBall and was in a rush...

Warmer weather and more runs...any suprise?

Dont know what that was all about VK probably a combination of both public and pro bettors distaste for Contreras as road chalk but who knows really.

I didnt have the balls to get on Chicago but they beat another LHP...granted it was a 3 run shot in the 1st but thats how they kill you with the long ball...

Loewen just the 2nd LHP to complete 6 innings vs WSox now. While 3 runs dont look so bad its only a matter of time when the bottom of that lineup starts contributing. They lost 2 rallies because runners got thrown out on the base paths after hits..

6 inn 6 h 5bbs ..11 baserunners ...

Outside of Greg Smith this was the 2nd best performance by a LH SP vs them and its very medicore at best...

they are winnings some games vs lefties ... but it sint from hitting. the pitching is just astounding. 3 run shot from one of the worst guys vs lefties in the league ... 1 pitch after he should have been called out on strikes. contreras just dominated the orioles. He is one of those guys that can bite you in the ass that way which is why i like him as a dog. i said take the under anytime that the white sox face a lefty and have a decent matchup on the hill .... but didnt consider contreras to be one. he just proved me wrong ... the righthanded bats of the white sox proved me right again though. thome going yard against a groundball lefty .... ill take my chances against that. that bet was easy. easiest bet of the year in my opinion and i stand by it. After today ... i would bet it again. when first pitch was being thrown i was upset for not putting an extra five percent on the game ... failing to do that was a mistake ... but it worked out for the best. my offer still stands to anyone willing to accept it .... white sox finish in bottom 10 in mlb in batting avg vs lefties. ( eliminate pitcher AB ). Any takers let me know.

they are ahead of the athletics , indians and blue jays so far in the american league against lefties

It isnt a debatable point with me. The white sox do not hit lefties well. They have proven it over and over and over again. Maybe they will at some point and if so we should adjust. But no signs of that yet.

btw sabathia got rocked again today ..... 4 starts and he has been rocked in all of them ... take him out of the white sox attack vs lefties and see what you get. it is not bad ... it is pitiful

not to ramble but equating the white sox winning vs lefties do to their bats is akin to being 4-1 with jack-ten suited all in vs pocket aces. Glad for the guy who won 4 of 5 with the jack-ten but if he thinks he is making a sound decision he is wrong.

if jose can bring this every fucking game we will surpass my expectation of 87 easily.

Okay and this is a friendly arguement...Mr VK...

You looking solely at avg which doesnt mean that much in the whole scope of things..also give some of these guys a break since the weather has been brutal at times in Chi and its not easy to hit...still though your missing the improvements they have made shedding Iguchi in the middle and switching to Swisher and Quentin in the OF. Your looking at Thome's numbers and granted they suck last 2 seasons but he did battle some injuries and was a good 50 points better the 3 season prior and has started hitting them well so far. Crede splits also not very good last season but again he battled a painful back injury and had very solid numbers when healthy in 2006. They only bat to LH's now a big change..that is what I see as not debatable..

WSox this year vs LH SP:
vs Sabathia L10-8
5.1 Inn 6 H 5 ER 5 R 3 BB 7 K 2 HR's

vs Nate Robertson W 8-5
5 Inn 7 H 5 Er 5 R 2BB 5 K 1 Hr

vs Dontrelle Willis W 5-3
5 Inn 1 H 3 ER 3 R 7 BB 0 K

vs Dontrelle Willis L 5-2
0 Inn 0 H 1 Er 1 R 2BB 0 K

vs Kenny Rogers W 11-0
4 Inn 7 H 7 ER 7 R 4 BB 1 K 1 HR

vs Greg Smith L 2-1
7 Inn 6 H 1 ER 1 R 1BB 4 K

vs Dana Eveland W 4-1
4.2 Inn 5 H 4 R 3 ER 3 BB 2 K 1 HR

vs Adam Loewen W 3-1
6 Inn 6 H 3ER 3 R 5 BB 3 K 1 HR

Points :
-Clearly agree Sabathia has been terrible. So what they did isnt a plus by any means but if they were so bad why didnt they struggle?

-They chase Robertson after 5 innings getting 5 runs looks like a nice job the offense to me.

- Willis was lucky to be effectively wild. He said it himself he was terrible afterwards. You really going to even try and say a guy who walked 7 batters and struck out no one in 5 innings pitched well? He didnt the Sox probably didnt get much to hit . Bottomline another SP chased after 5 innings...

- Willis was even luckier the 2nd time around . Not only was it 2nd and 3rd no out to Thome but Aquilino Lopez came in and did a magnificent job allwoing 1 run in 4 innings. Just a reminder Lopez is RH. That 1st inning was about to get ugly and the knee injury saved him but even so what we saw from him that day was not good.

- They broke open a 5 -0 game inthe bottom of the 5th chasing Rogers before he recored an out. Another case of the WSox chasing a LH before the 6th inning..

-nice job by Greg Smith shutting down the lineup. I think he is a good solid young SP and he had the benefit of never being seen by Chicago.

-Again Eveland is chased during the 5th inning. he escaped some early jams and finally it caught up to him when he allowed a 3 run Hr to Quentinfollowed by a double to Alexei Rairez which chased him. What was impressive here? Was Eveland even scored upon prior to this game maybe allwoed 1 run and yet he was consistently pitching with runners in scoring position.

- Loewen just like Danks constantly pitched in trouble but found ways to escape. he allowed a 3 run HR in the first and in teh 4rd and 5thinnings avoided allwoing runs thanks to what I guess was poor baserunning as both innings saw the WSox have a runner thrown out on a basehit by a batter...kinda strange to happen twice..110 pitches in 6 innings equals laboring outing in my book

Both of the last 2 games Chicago saw RH relievers come in and shut them down just as Aquilino Lopez had done...

CLosing :

I'll be fair and say the lost that 2nd game Willis started when he departed after 3 batters and still WSox are 5-3 vs LHs apprx +2.2 units. Otherwise they are 5-2 +3.3 units.

So 8 LHP have started vs them and but two have completed 6 innings. Seems odd if they dont hit LH that only 2 guys went at least 6 and 1 other started the 6th (Sabathia) but couldnt finish it.

37 Inn 38 H 29 R 28 ER 27 BB 22 K 6 HR's

6.81 ERA 1.76 WHIP

So now please explain how the WSox do not hit LHP outside of a medicore avg? Which by the way if you havent noticed the Sox are built like and Earl Weaver team waiting on that big 3 run HR.

Swisher , Thome , Dye , Konerko , Crede all have 30 HR power and will it wouldnt suprise be to see some of those guys hit 300 they could just as easily hit 270...

Uribe and Quentin are definite 20 + Hr guys

Cabrera and AJ solid hitters...

There avg may not be good be show me a legit 300 hitter in there lineup. Some of these guys will end up around290 maybe even 300 but they are mostly sluggers.....so that is why there AVG will never be attractive.....

I may have this wrong ..
2007 runs scored vs LHP 29th
2006 runs scored vs LHP 2nd
2005 runs scored vs LHP 12th
2004 runs scored vs LHP 7th

So BAA isnt the greatest indicator IMO and why I continue to say the WSox will hit LHP..

Like I said earlier friendly disagreement and if you disagree you disagree what can I do...I know the WSox will be tough on LHP this season with the additions of Cabrera and Swisher, the hopeful development of Carlos Quentin , the return of health of Joe Crede and even Jim Thome. Plus the Dye and Konerko duo which have pounded LHP...check there 2006 splits...monsters..:shake:

The simply shedded all those LHB who were playing LF and CF , traded up by getting Cabrera for Iguchi and getting healthy again....

The way I see some SP allow a base of hits usually balanced by not allowing alot of walks. here Chicago may not have alot of basehits vs LH but in the end they will have scored vs them because it only takes 1 swing of the bat and thats what they are built on...

Is Thome a good hitter vs LHP? No , but you said he is one of the worst and that is a HUGE exaggeration IMO. So he sucked in 2007 cant argue that but even now his career BAA vs LHP is 241. Not great by any means but why not ask why a 240 -250 hitter suddenly dropped down 50 points . Maybe he ws battling some injuries even nagging injuries that made LHP particularily tough. he was injured and slumped in May and June did he see a lot of LH possibly? Were they the cause of his slump inthat period or was a slump made worse by unfavorable matchups constantly seeing LH's? Also that Johan Santana guy was in Minny and he was pretty good would imagine that was 4 or 5 starts a season...some wicked LHs when you think Sabathia , Santana , Liriano in 2006..Central has some tough LHP ...

Also you weigh only how unlucky the 1st inning was but dont say the same thing for 3rd and 5 th inning...

With 2 outs how do you single to center and with 1st and 2nd get thrown at 3rd...another blunder that seeming killed a rally...

So 2 baserunning BLUNDERS killed potential run scoring innings as well...

hehe ... think mostly you make my points for me above.

i would throw out the willis game second time around. they played vs a righty there the whole game.

but if you look at the games .. its the pitching keeping the opponents down. in their last five games ( throwing out the willis/lopez game ) against lefties they have only allowed 6 runs.

perhaps i am not giving them enough credit for drawing walks and being patient ... driving up pitchcounts and getting left handed starters out of the game early. But they arent hitting them. Two of their hits today were a homer and double by Thome .... come on.

agree to disagree i guess. And average is far more reliable than HR when predicting production, you know that. By seasons end the reds will have quite a few homeruns vs lefties as well but i wouldnt be betting them against lefties if i were a gambling man.

like i said .. its ok to disagree ... but still think you are wrong and the numbers that you already showed are indicating that point. but if the starters for cws keep the other team to 2 runs , 1 run , 0 runs , 1 run , 1 run like they have over last five then YEAH they will win vs lefties.

Thats fine we all have different opinions...

I dont understand how Jim Thome getting 2 hits is a shock?? All your relying on is the fact he hit 196 last year vs LHP. Your ignoring that he was injured , he has 240 career avg vs LH , and has to face LH specialists late in games while facing guys in his Division like Johan and CC . That to me is just looking at numbers and accepting them for face value.

Average is not realiable and I didnt use Homers I used RUNS SCORED...37 innings 28 runs....thats about as black and white as gets ...

You just seem to miss that Chicago will not hit for a good avg and they probably will end up better vs LHP then RHP ..not all teams hit for avg...

The Reds terrible , terrible comparision. The Reds are what the WSox used to be...Cincy is built on LHB...the WSox send SEVEN RHB at least out there when they see a LHP...not even comparable...

The numbers I show say that 2 starters went 6 innings in 7 starts , that 6 starters of the 7 allowed at least 3 runs ...they showed a hit per inning...

So at least 3 runs basically everytime and sometimes up to 5 but rarely more then 5 innings...

Hey I tried......Chicago will probably NOT be in the bottom vs LHP and DEFINETLY will NOT be in the bottom 10 in runs scored . They also will struggle more vs RHP then LHP....I stand by that....

I dont get how someone can look so closely at numbers and not see

37 INNINGS 28 RUNS....has good pitching helped ? Clearly but isnt easier to pitch when you get a 3 spot in the top of the 1st or the other team is in the bullpen in the 5th inning?

maybe calling thome one of the worst was harsh.

Put this way in the sense of would I rather have Thome up there vs a Lefty or a Righty it would absolutely be a Lefty.....but its not like he is wasting his time even trying to hit vs LHs...

Thinking outloud.....

Under 8 @ SF ? WIN Webb has been his usually self after a rough spring which had me concerned.

Tigers ? WIN Sabathia has been terrible , Tigers matchup great vs LHs and now Det has pulled out consecutive late wins.

WSox ? WIN I am the only who believes that Chicago hits LHP better then most and they knocked out another LH SP today by the 5th when after repeatedly leaving men in scoring position they finally got a big hit .

Yanks ? WIN Wang at home tough to beat and Boston really not hitting all that well. Concerned with Wang pitching such a gem last outing . Bucholz I tip my cap to he is ahead of Phil Hughes at this point ...

Rangers? WIN They stink but Gabbard has been real solid but the scare point is how well Tor has historically hit LHs even though it hasnt happened yet.

Twins and Over ? WIN / WIN Livan has done evertying and much more then Minny could have expected through 3 starts. Not sure TB deserves to be road chalk. Shields is solid but still not IMO a proven commodity on the road .

mariners ? WIN King Felix looks fairly solid to date but need to see respective splits for SP's as Blanton is a quality pitcher as we know....

Not sure how healthy meche is and that may lead to an over play...

Over @ Philly : LOSS Oswalt is not healthy and certainly it shows in his pitching.

Atlanta : LOSS Tough price but I do like how the Braves matchup vs LHP . Hendrickson is long reliever masquaerading as a SP IMO. Huddy has been tough as nails so far . Check the splits but nice spot probably after being shutout..

Interesting game @ Shea probably another UNDER. WIN I'll take my chances with the Mets vs LH SP although a ton of runners starnded todayto aid my under . Chico has potential but is real inconsistent and tough to back away...

Last year Zambrano struggled with Cincy and even vs Fogg tough price to lay..

Probably go back with STL and another under. WIN / LOSS Villanueva has solid splits vs STL in the past....a tougher matchup then Bush was...

Might be interested in SD as germano has surpassed my expectations to date and maybe an over 8.5 or Over RHE. LOSS / WIN / WIN

No way that price is cheap in LAD but possible -1.5 play as Pitt has alot of SP who have terrible road splits.....:shake: WIN

Damn coulda be 13-4 had I stuck to this..shit !
