pending on what kind of UMPIRE tends to be for the day game milke and houston.. i would lean under 9.5 perhaps

Mil/Hou, Diaz is a nice under ump

also leaning towards SD/SF Under 8 -100
Marquez and Cain/Maddux and two teams that just cant score

I wonder what the Yankee Faithful will do with a -125 line on Clemens? I really hope that gets pounded hard because I would like to play Balty tomorrow as a dog.

Bos/Sea OVER 9 -114

I can see going over before 5 Innings doesn't seem like it would take much. Even though Dice-K is pitching better I feel like Boston will get to Freierbend pretty easily for 5 or 6 and then Dice-K 2 or 3, then a couple of bullpen runs?

"I wonder what the Yankee Faithful will do with a -125 line on Clemens? I really hope that gets pounded hard because I would like to play Balty tomorrow as a dog."

Renew, the line opened here in Reno @-135 and I was going to wait till tomorrow because I thought that was too low. It seems that some Clemens faders have already made an early move. Maybe it will go back up. I don't like taking Orioles at that low of a price without Tejada. Pettite was -157 today and he doesn't make a million a game!

aha, yankee fan checking in... and no I wont be backing the greatest franchise in the world tomorrow.

other than that baseball sucks right now

Hot weather in Milwaukee tomorrow, two sucky pitchers, both teams hitting around .300 vs righties. Diaz 7-7 O/U, but he does have a larger strike zone.

Anybody know a site that has split O/U W/L stats such as day/night, open/closed roofs, etc?

theres been some really odd baseball going on so why not de la rosa and the royals for the sweep with jered weaver off of some injury problems, thought DL but apparently not

Both Eddings (LA-Zona) & Diaz (Astros-Milw) are only 7-8 this year to the 'under'.

How 'bout Cincy at Philly over the # with good 'ol Kellogg behind HP who is 10-5 to the 'over' this season.

Jays at Minny over with Brian Runge behind HP who is already 10-5 to the 'over' this year.

Finally, what 'bout Tex at Tigers under with Poncino back of HP who is 4-9 to the 'under' this season.

Simply some #'ers fellows, simply some #'ers, so take them kindly for what they're worth and then relax! :shake:

any thoughts on the early game? I find it very hard the d-town gets swept..

I agree, but remember, they have verlander going against wright on Thursday to close out the series and that's probably why they won't get swept. Although, taking the gambler against his former team seems like a pretty good idea.

any thoughts on the early game? I find it very hard the d-town gets swept..

Like someone has already stated this series is 4 games so sweep angle should not be used (never really should be used IMO). I would look more to over in that game. Yes the ump is under this year but if you look into previous years he has been an over ump. A lot of Tigers hitter and Ranger hitters have solid success of opposing pitchers. ONly thing that scares me some is Rogers has had some success with this ump but nothing spectacular

After retarded Tuesday night, I dunno what to say except - gotta keep grinding...

Anyway, Over in Seattle seems like a lock to me - this guy who starts for Mariners is nothing but batting practice pitcher and even recently slumping "we can't get it done" Boston offense should be able to tag him for decent amount of runs early in the game while Matsuzaka tends to be too perfect and everyone knows how that usually ends - a bunch of SO but he's out before end of 7th inning. Considering Mariners are HITTING again, I can see them getting from 2 to 4 runs off Dice-K.

Tbh, White Sox in Tampa seems like the best play on the board. Slumping Guillen boys may have found the ideal place to boost their confidence and it's no coincidence that they won against usually very tough James Shields last night. Buehrle is their ace and has been decent all season plus his teammates usually support him with plenty of runs so I can see their winning streak extending to 3 games tonight (wow!).

Fausto Carmona and his Indians seem like a fair play to me over the slumping A's. Why not to trust those guys against DiNardo after they've won against Haren and Gaudin, and I won't even mention A's closer Alan Embree who got shelled for 7 earned runs in only 1.2 innings over the last 2 days by Cleveland. It seems like Indians just find a way to win unlike the A's who find their own ways to lose, even after having a 2-run lead in the 9th inning.

Considering the amount of suprises going on in MLB for the last few weeks, I won't be suprised to see Texas win another one vs Tigers with Milwood on the mound and also, Nats winning against the Braves as heavy underdogs. Snakes may be able to avoid losing a series at home with their ace on the mound while you never know with those slumping Yankees - Bedard and O's seem like a possible choice if the line goes a little bit more up. Tomorrow we got Cabrera vs Wang so it's another possibility for the Orioles.

Two more games I'm interested in are surging Cubs with Zambrano and Giants with Cain but I feel a little bit tired atm, so I'll just think about that in the afternoon after I get some rest...

Actually the diamondbacks and the dodgers are in a 4 game series.. but best of luck anyways unicorn. I'm leaning towards the padres as the giants hasn't posted a win with cain on the mound in over 2 months.

It doesn't matter, look @ past years and the % of strikes called compared to the rest of the umpires. O-U records can be misleading, especially early on. They'll most likely straighten themselves out. I'd still play under in LAD/ARZ but idk about the other game, didn't look into it

I dont have time right now to look at the rest but I'll be back in a couple of hours

The roof will be open today, should this be the Over now?
http://arizona.diamondbacks.mlb.com/.../roof_info.jsp

considering the wind has changed directions to 11 OUT to LF instead of 13 mph IN from LF... maybe. These aren't fly ball pitchers though. My only concern for the over is bullpen, BC stated that above and both were used heavily yesterday. Eddings is a good under ump despite a 7-8 O/U record, it's very misleading.

with 105 degree temperature and only 9% humidity, it's hard to bet unders regardless who's pitching.

Bets for today

- Texas @ Detroit OVER 9

- Red Sox (Dice-K)

- Padres (Maddux)

Leans:

- Reds
- Yankees
- Yankees @ Orioles UNDER
- Dodgers @ Arizona UNDER

Poncino this year is calling 63.90% strikes, thats a dramatic difference from most other years, he only had one other year where he called over 63% strikes (63.14% in 2005). I would expect this # to straighten itself out. Millwood and Rogers making his 2nd start seems to be a a reasonable place for his 4-9 record to O/U record to go OVER today.

Runge record, atleast to me, appears to be a product of very low totals. He is 7-2 O/U with totals 8 1/2 or LOWER. He even had a total under 7 this year. That makes him 4-3 with totals 9 or higher. He was 15-14 last year but 2-5 and 11-20 the previous two. His called strike % was over 63.40 last year and '04. 2005 doesn't provide a large sample but it was 64.41%. He's now calling 62.31% strikes. Now with Towers and Boof I can see it going over.

Kellogg seems to be fairly inconsistant year to year. You may have to look at past #'s for Harang and Moyer for Cincy, see how recent they were but I'm just not attracted to betting 9.5 with a guy like Harang who can, his career #'s arent great vs. Philly but last start was in 05. He pitched 1 inning in 06 but that looks like it was in relief. Most of these Reds have never seen Moyer outside of Griffey and Conine and this isn't a very good LHP hitting team but they are 7-9 vs lefties on the road.

Forum appears split on hou/mil total. just from reading it seems like the two pitchers may have good #'s vs opposing teams but I don't trust woody williams and the word under ever.

60% chance of showers in Det game, does that help the Under more?

I don't like betting games with rain involved. you don't know what kind of crazy shit will happen then pitchers get pulled if there's a delay (which I would think it helps over) but these pens aren't that bad. I don't know if anyone else has a better view of rain and baseball. But wind is blowing in all day it looks like. there are other guys on this play, might want to ask them what they think in their threads.
