Defending champion doldrums

Christmas day has not been a gifting experience for NBA’s defending champions.

That’s confirmed by their lousy 0-5 SU and ATS mark since 2000 when facing an opponent playing with one day-exact rest.

The Lakers hope to add to that number when they host the Heat at the Staples Center.

Under the Christmas Tree

Non-conference games certainly bring the best defensive effort out in teams on Christmas Day.

Thirteen of the 16 games played on Dec. 25 since 1991 involving Eastern and Western Conference foes have played under the total.

Six of the seven games involving a team off loss have stayed under the total.

The gift that keeps on giving

The L. A. Lakers are 17-1 SU at home during December.

I think that Under bets in early games can be very nice options, should be money at least in 2 out 3 games.
 
There are only a handful of games you know the heat will bring their A game... XMAS day is one of them....
 
Got that stat from blankets. Same page says OkC 7-7 ATS in day games. Questioning how accurate this information may be. Is it possible OkC has played 14 day games and Knicks only 3??

Knicks sounds about right but there's no way the Thunder is, unless they're counting anything before 7:00 PM as "Day" which I think they are (OKC home games on weekends start at 6:00 PM I think)
 
Lakers first half plus 5. Thinking about game. Miami really has only played away in the east this year and has 4 losses. Welcome to the West. Tend to think having scored 243 points last 2 games as well as playing bad D may be a negative.
 
Adding Laker team total see above. Garnett and Pierce end with 3 baskets for the day.:dancing:
 
I never bet the NBA, but decided to take a gander today while I'm by myself on Christmas...

does GS look short to you guys? Great HCA and they should make more shots at home, but only 2.5? Who's hurt?
 
Simple stat. Clippers are 11-3 ATS vs winning teams
Golden State is 6-8. Very tough to play GS here
 
trying to figure out a way to play this S.A. game.
