I don't think that Lakers should be 3 points favorites on the road against resurging Suns off a rest.
It should be a PK line. To be honest, I think that Lakers win in a blowout against Hornets tonight and lose to Suns tomorrow.

I do like Hawks and Minny tomorrow. I think that all home dogs have decent value tomorrow and if you play all four, worst case, will be a 2 - 2 split.

The Utah line is higher than what I was hoping. Damnit

Still probably will take 1h -4 and FG.

doesn't kobe love playing in Phoenix?

nash's first game back... Crowd is gonna show him an enormous amount of love

At first glance best road teams tomorrow
Wizards and Bulls.
Wizards 10 game ATS win streak although mostly ATS not SU
Bulls 15-2 SU streak with a 12-5 ATS record

Hornets not bad at all

Too many games----

Suns - Lakers very hard game to cap, but if you want to back the Lakers, simply take Over TT on them. In 19 out of 20 games Lakers won, they scored 100+ points. Here we get 102 points TT total.
I think that Lakers will struggle a lot and I doubt they will win. Hope I'm wrong though...

Brooklyn TT Over 1st half should be interesting lean. Stats give us 50.5 points on the Nets in first half at home against the Heat. Yet the number we should get 47 - 47.5 points only.

Under 1st half in Denver - just see no reason for such a huge number that we are getting here.

Wolves got beaten pretty bad last time they played Clips at home. Now, they get Shved and Pekovic back, while Clips get 4.5 points though playing on the road without CP3? Wolves look as a good option here.

Vey tempted to just sleep a few days and then bet Toronto first half vs Heat on Sunday

[h=1]Garrett shows promise in D-League stint[/h]

Diante Garrett showing off his drive-and-kick ability nicely right here. - Jerome Miron-US PRESSWIRE

Suns' rookie point guard Diante Garrett just completed his seven-game stint with the D-League's Bakersfield Jam. The team went 6-1 during Garrett's assignment and the first year player from Iowa State showed some real promise.

Garrett was assigned to the Bakersfield Jam and played hist first game on Jan. 11. He came off the bench for the first two games, but by the third he had earned the starting point guard spot and held onto it for the rest of his stint. He put up solid numbers and helped his team win. After watching all of two of his games and at least a quarter of the others, I believe he can do that for the Suns as well, albeit it to a lesser extent.
But first, let's take a look at how he played.

A couple numbers jump out to me here. The first is the 3-point shooting. He shot an incredible 10-16 from deep in his seven D-League games, but even more interesting is the fact that all 10 of his makes came in three games. He shot 3-3 in his first game, 3-4 in the next and 4-4 in his last one. In the other four games in between he went 0-5 and didn't even attempt one in his sixth game.
Second, the assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.5 is a solid number for a guard. He had two big turnover games of five and four, but he also had three games with only one turnover and another one where he dished out 10 assists without turning it over a single time. From watching him play, Garrett does a very nice job of taking care of the ball and finding the open man.
[h=3]Strengths[/h] Garrett's strengths start with his physical tools. He has excellent size for an NBA point guard at 6-foot-5 with a 6-foot-9 wingspan, and solid speed and quickness.
But beyond the physical tools, he just knows how to play the game. He is definitely a point guard who can run a team and get shots for himself and others. More specifically, he's a specific kind of point guard: a drive-and-kick point guard. Garrett's game is all about getting into the paint and making things happen. He penetrates in a variety of ways: pushing the ball in transition, using a quick first step to get past his man and attacking the defense in pick-and-roll situations.
Garrett has solid court vision, which he uses to find lanes to the basket and to hit the open man when the defense collapses on him. Garrett drove and kicked out to open shooters more than anything else during his stint, and that worked well with a Bakersfield starting lineup that featured two stretch big men in the starting frontcourt.
It only took Garrett two games to earn the starting gig, and quickly asserted himself as a leader on the court. He ran the offense as a point guard, but was a very willing passer and often moved the ball an gave other guys a chance to make a play.
He's also a guy who will stay engaged off the ball on both ends. He has good instincts and uses his length well to get into passing lanes (hence the 1.7 steals per game), is a good cutter offensively and isn't afraid to sneak into the paint and fight for rebounds on either end.
Shooting is one of the things that Garrett needed to work on the most coming out of college, an it definitely looks like he has improved. He knocked down his open 3-pointers at a high rate and also showed a fairly reliable pull-up mid-range jumper.
[h=3]Weaknesses[/h] Garrett has appeared to have improved his shooting, but it's difficult to draw any long-term conclusions about the reliability of his deep ball. As I mentioned above, he either shot a bunch or he barely shot at all. From what I noticed, he doesn't really look for the 3-ball. He'd rather move the ball or attack when he gets it on the perimeter. But if he is open in a catch-and-shoot situation, or even off of an occasional pick-and-roll where the defender goes under the screen, he can knock it down. So while he shot over 60 percent from deep in his seven games, he's not any kin of 3-point specialist.
Defensively, he was difficult to evaluate as Bakersfield played a lot of match-up zone, meaning he wasn't asked to lock down any particular player. He did show versatility in guarding both point guards and shooting guards (his backcourt mate Jerel McNeal is a smallish combo-guard). I did see him get blown by a couple times, but I think those were more lapses and him getting caught off guard than him not being able to move his feet. He has excellent length and solid quickness, so he should be able to at the very least do a solid job defensively/
Garrett's biggest weakness is his ability to finish around the basket, and it is this weakness that limits his upside. While he has solid speed and great length, Garrett lacks explosiveness when going up to finish. He doesn't elevate very quickly or powerfully, and this leads to him missing some easier looks or taking tough shots after an initial good move to the basket. Complicating his lack of explosiveness is his lack of strength, as he is only 185 pounds or so and doesn't have the sort of wiry strength that other skinny guards may possess. These two factors really limit his upside as a scorer, and if teams decide to play him straight up and force him to try to finish, the kick-out won't be there for him.
He needs to first of all continue to work on his body and add some muscle to his frame, and second develop a better arsenal of finishing moves around the basket. If you can't go up and dunk everything, you have to do be more crafty with some scoops and floaters.
[h=3]Kendall Marshall[/h] Rookie lottery pick Kendall Marshall spent some time with Bakersfield earlier in the season, and after a good start his stay did not go quite as well as Garrett's. However, the two players are at different stages in their careers at this point an comparing them directly is not all that fair. Marshall spent two years in college before declaring for the NBA Draft, while Garrett played all four years at Iowa State and spent last season honing his game overseas. Garrett is much closer to a finished product than Marshall is right now and is more ready to play. Garret's stint was about getting a chance to play, showing what he can do and fine-tuning his game. Marshall's stint was more about experimentation. Marshall is still trying to find his game at the NBA level, while Garrett already knows who he is.
[h=3]How Does Garrett Fit In?[/h] Garrett has been officially recalled by the Sun and will be on the roster for the Suns' next game. Whether or not he is active I do not know, although I believe he should be. I think it's time to give him a shot. Shannon Brown is not really helping this team and should not be part of the team moving forward. However, I do believe there is a spot in this league for Garrett, and I wouldn't mind for that to be with the Suns.
Garrett is actually comparable to Goran Dragic in a lot of ways. What separates them is Dragic's explosiveness, but Garrett can step in off the bench and play a similar role to Dragic. He's big enough to defend a lot of shooting guards, particularly ones coming off the bench, and playing him next to Sebastian Telfair could help jump start the Suns' bench on both ends. Garrett would relieve Bassy of some of the playmaking duties an allow him to spot up on the perimeter and put his good 3-point shooting this year to use.
I don't know if Garrett will be able to get into the paint as well or as often against NBA athleticism, but at this point in the season I'm willing to get him out there and find out. Garrett isn't ever going to be a star, but I do think he has some promise as a solid role player off the bench. On a team with so many negatives in the second unit, a guy who is willing to do his job and play his role can go a long way.

Cashed fairly well on Detroit minus 1.5 plus 95 cents Tuesday. Problem is I am frequently a dog player and NHL is in a major favorite run 8-2 Friday

Under on the Kings TT will probably be a play.
Boston without Rondo will be looking to play even harder defense and slower offense.
Kings won't make it to 90 tonight.

Utah line opened at -7 and got bet hard. Hornets got quite a bit of action after the game last night and it has evened out quite nicely.

The hornets are...

- A sea level team
- Playing 3rd in 4 nights
- playing in one of the toughest arenas in the league, both physically and mentally
- coming from California (sea level) in a hard fought loss to the lakers. Hard fought being key.
- going up against a team that just lost by 45

I think Boston wins by DD fairly easily.

all depends on how you think the team reacts w/o Rondo. Solid performance by them vs the Heat but that was one of those emotional games and they had just found out about the injury.

Now its sunk in. Either they fall apart and become a lottery team, or they make up Rondos production and everyone else steps up.

They are going to be playing a "no point guard" offense. The team has a bunch of guards.

The celtics have PRIDE. Moreso than any other team in the league. The team is playing at with two days rest without any travel. Would be a let down spot had rondo not been injured but I don't see them taking Sacramento for granted. And there were those Cousins trade rumors.

It sucks not having enough time to cap. Huge fucking card.

Leans:

Pho. Many of the reasons listed already. Been playing really well as of late, but hoping for let down spot. Just value in line.

Min. Not impressed with clippers of late without Paul. THey are still giving 5 on the road?

Det. Indiana off @Mem, Por, Utah, Den. Starters played heavy minutes. 1 day of rest. This is going to be a tough game for them to get up for. Plus, refs are 49-56 for home team ats. Indiana 0.5 ats when favored by 8 or more.

Wash- Just gonna continue to ride for now.

Oh these referees....

Salvatore, Palmer in Boston.

Tony Brothers in Atlanta

Joe Crawford in Phoenix

Heat.

(Brooklyn) (betcrimes stats)

2nd game back after 4 game road trip- 38-56-3 ATS
@ Home as a Dog 15-20-1
@Home vs Conf 29-32-1

44%- Percentage of time the team splits next 2 games (Brk beat Orl)
23%- Percentage of time team wins both games ATS
47%- Percentage of time team wins 2nd game after winning first.

I understand the stats but I honestly don't think that's going to be the reason the nets lose tonight. It's been 5 days since they have been home and they are playing a nationally televised game at home vs the world champions who they weee pretty much embarrassed against twice this season. That trend is not applicable here.

Dwades and Lebrons first game in Brooklyn. Scary. Players love playing in new places for the first time.

I like Under TT Bucks as well. Chicago got 100 points on their heads last time teams played in Chicago. I know that Bucks offense is on the roll now, but Chicago's defense should show up big time for this one. If Boozer out, it only adds to the confidence, because Butler and Gibson should take chunks of his minutes.

Rockets/Nuggets over 217.5 looks good, high number but that is to be expected with #2 & #4 offensive scoring teams. Houston lost previous two meetings @home by 6 & 10, so why is this line -4.5? Could be an overreaction to the Rocket's blowout win @Utah but I'm not going to be on the Nuggets that's for sure.

“Our team is defending the Miami Heat. If our team has to defend one person, LeBron isn't going to score nothing. … LeBron is no different from Joe Johnson orAndray Blatche. No different,” Brooklyn's starting power forward said. “People need help (on defense). Some people don't need help. Everybody has to be double-teamed, it doesn't matter who you are. You just have to stop LeBron in transition.
“He's quick in transition. If you look at Joe Johnson -- Joe Johnson has two or three people trying to stop him. Whoever is guarding him.”

Heat 1-6 ATS when favored between 1 to 3.5 and 1-7 ATS on the road versus a team with a winning record. Heat also have Indiana on deck who they lost to 77-87 in their 1st season meeting.

Crooklyn lost the each of the 1st two season meetings by DD's. Motivation shouldn't be a factor...

Just got home. No time to study yet.

[TD="class: alt1"] Wednesday

ATS: 112-80-5 (+35.5)
OU: 63-54-1 (+2.3)
ML dogs: 4-7 (+3.05)

Jazz

The Jazz are coming off a humiliating home loss, the worst in their franchise history. Since the 2006 season, the Jazz are 16-3 SU as a home favorite after a loss as a home favorite, winning by an average of 10.2 ppg. Since the 2003 season, teams playing as a home favorite with more rest than their opponent are 58-17 SU (+10.8 ppg) and 49-26 ATS (average line -8.5) when their next game is also at home, and they are coming off a double digit loss as a favorite

The Hornets are 3-11 SU (-10.8 ppg) and 6-8 ATS as a road dog after a road loss where they covered the spread. Teams coming off a road loss as a dog when they covered the spread and are playing on the road as a dog between 4 and 9 points seeking same season revenge for a home loss are 16-66 SU and 28-50 ATS since the 2006 season.

Since the 2001 season, teams playing as a 4.5 or more point favorite coming off a 40+ point loss are 5-1 SU (+10.5) and 5-1 ATS. I just had to throw that trend in there, haha. Since the 2009 season, teams playing as a home favorite when they beat their opponent on the road in the same season as a favorite are 35-5 SU (+12.0) and 24-16 ATS after a home loss as a favorite. Since last season, teams playing on the road as a dog after two road games where they covered the spread are 13-53 SU (-8.9) and 26-39-1 ATS.

Teams playing in a conference game as a road dog are 5-26 SU (-11.3) and 9-20-2 ATS since the 2005 season after a loss when the game went over the total and they covered the spread, if their opponent is coming off a loss as a favorite.

The Jazz are 17-0 SU (+17.5 ppg) and ATS playing as a favorite if they are rested after a home loss where they gave up 15 or more points than expected since the 1995 season.

Ty Corbin: “This team has shown a lot of grit and character all year long, and we'll respond. We don't feel sorry for ourselves.”

Nets

Teams seeking home revenge for two double digit losses against the same opponent in the same season are 32-19 at home during the regular season (average line of -2.5) since the 2000 season when they have a winning record.

The Heat playing after an overtime game are 3-6 SU and ATS since the 2010 season. After an overtime loss, they are 0-3 SU (-7.7 ppg) and ATS. The Heat playing on the road as a favorite are 3-6 SU (-5.7 ppg) and 2-7 ATS in their last nine when their opponent is off a double digit win. This season, the Heat are 2-6 SU and ATS on the road against teams with a winning record (they were favored in all but one of these games).

The Nets have not won a game against the Heat since March 2009, losing twelve in a row. But they are playing great right now, and have not lost a home game yet under Carlesimo. The Nets are 4-1 at home this season against Eastern conference opponents with a winning record. I’m not going stat and trend crazy on this one - if I would, most would point toward the Heat. But I have been watching the Nets closely this season, and I think they are playing tough right now and have a very balanced team that can beat anyone on any given night.

“It’s definitely a good challenge for us,” Brook Lopez said. “It’s a good test. It’ll be a fun contest. The first [game] was earlier in the season, and the second one, we were there with them for three quarters before it got away. I think we can give them a really good game [tonight].”

Rockets

I like to bet on a team when they are meeting a comparable opponent for the third time in the same season, after losing the first two matchups. Same conference opponents that have lost the two previous matchups in the same season are 25-15 ATS (average line +4.7) in the third game when playing on the road if both teams have a winning record (this trend is also active on Chicago today) since the 2010 season.

Teams playing as a dog coming off two double digit wins when their opponent is coming off of three games where they scored more than 100 points are 32-32 SU and 45-18 ATS since the 2005 season. Teams playing as a road dog coming off a 20+ point road dog win are 16-21 SU and 23-14 ATS against a team coming off a home win of 2 or less since the 1995 season.

The Rockets are a streaky team. They are either clicking on all cylinders, or they look like they can’t play at all. Right now, they are full steam ahead, and until they are derailed, I’m rolling with them.

Jazz -7
Rockets +4.5
Nets...waiting on line, thinking it might get up to 3

Good luck...

Gonna be on the over in Denver for sure. Lean Utah but this hornets team is such a feisty dog idk if I can place it.

Played Under 218 in Denver. Really don't get the love for the Over in Denver. H2H, averages, everything points to Under here.
If teams can't go Over in Houston, with Rockets trending Under on the road and Over at home and Denver the other way around, why would they go Over in Denver???

"We're playing great," Turner said. "You think bad luck just keeps rolling? Basketball's a game of runs.
"Our next step is closing off games when we have a lead. It's about execution."
Doing their best to tread water while waiting for injured center Andrew Bynum to make his Philadelphia debut sometime after the All-Star break, the 76ers have alternated wins and losses in their last eight home games.
"I think those guys have a good feel for themselves out there," Philadelphia coach Doug Collins said. "I think our guys are confident. They were in good spirits after the game.
"We're playing a Washington team that is playing good basketball. We're going to have our hands full, that's for sure."
Turner has averaged 23.3 points and 54.9 percent shooting in the last three games, but has scored 8.6 points in eight career contests versus Washington.

Man I cap things completely different than some of you. Averages? Both teams combined avg 207 ppg, and total line is 10 points higher than that average, which to me is a look on the over or nothing at all.

Monty McCutchen has the highest home team win% of refs that have officiated 30+ games this season (.781). 'Homeboy' was in Portland last night, tonight he's in Denver.

The opposite is in Phoenix. Joey C has the lowest home team win% (.467)...
