You say to yourself, Bad spot for Lakers. Than you look at Boston and you really wish the NBA had a mercy rule where you could concede a 15 point loss.
By the way I try not to post on Suns games. That said Suns are clear action tomorrow. No real mystery about this. Minn off a 10 point win or greater is 3-7 ATS this season.
Suns as an underdog are 15-4 this season.
Against the Northwest they are 7-1 ATS
Playing off a loss they are 7-3 ATS.
Today they had this

SAS has gone 12 straight games w/out any totaling less than 205 pts (10-2 to Over).
SAS has gone 13 straight home games w/out any totaling less than 202 pts (11-2 to Over).
SAS is 19-5 to Over last 24 games overall.
The recent meeting (Boxing Day) between the 2 teams totaled 223 pts (lined 209.0).

A plethora of basic Over stats for SAS headed into Thursday's fixture, but Dallas has managed the bleh looking team totals of 91, 91, 87, 71 & 89 pts in their last 5 visits to SA (avg. 85.8 ppg; FG 4-1 to Under). As a point of reference, in their corresponding home fixtures vs. SAS during the same period as these road fixtures, Dallas broke 100 pts in regulation 3 times in 6 meetings. Also, Dallas is 4-1 to Under (avg. 98.4 ppg for, 102.4 ppg ag.) in B2B games on the road w/totals lined 206.0 or higher this season.

Fascinating game
Atlanta at home

Last 2 road games they seem not to care.
Indiana is playing 4 in 5.
They have failed to cover last 2 road games.
They have failed to cover vs Toronto in a serious revenge spot
Opinions?

Curry is going to go nuts from 3 point range I think. If anyone has 3 point props for the warriors id take a look. The nets should get crushed tonight.

wow finally some clarity from you on ya shitty team

Proud of you

Opinions?

My opinion is, beware of ATS regressions for teams providing wayy too much love this deep in the season for either good or bad angle.

For example, Phoenix was on a 22-7-1 ATS run with no real dips in form until the slight bip now appearing on the radar: 1-2 ATS their last 3, against opponents not really outstanding in any way (the 1 win vs. a team winning SU at a .206 clip). Since the Suns initial 30 game ATS run privded a 73.3% win rate, their going 1-2 hardly makes for what one might consider a 'full regressive run' of ATS form.

By way of example, Portland started the season just as emphatically, going 18-6 ATS their first 24 games, then the compensation/regression bug hit (as it must for any team paying out 75% of the time over that many games) with their going 2-9 ATS since.

Indiana started 22-8 ATS, and have gone 1-3 ATS since. Given their regression is a lousy 4 games deep, I'd keep away from them awhile yet. Their initial 73.3% payout rate I'd not think will return after a mere 4 game blip (try something more akin to Portland's 11 games, say their going 2-6/3-5 ATS over their next 8).

Slightly lesser examples -
Charlotte started 17-10 ATS (62.9%), gone 3-6 ATS since.
Lakers started 12-5 ATS (70%), gone 7-11 ATS since (38.9%)

And of course the reverse applies, bad teams coming good -
Sactoe started 9-18 ATS (33%), gone 4-2 ATS since (66%)
New York started 10-20 ATS (33%), gone 4-0 ATS since
Utah started 13-18-1 ATS (40.6%), gone 4-1 since (80%)
Cleveland started 3-13 ATS (19.8%), gone 13-6 (68.4%) since.

Milwaukee has started 12-22 ATS (35.3%), but being 1-5 their last 6 there's as yet no sign of a regression on their front. Can't imagine it'll be long in coming, otherwise their lines will explode.

The point to watch out for regressions ending is when the overall record starts to resemble being balanced, as is pretty much the case currently for the Lakers (18-16), Cleveland (19-19) & Utah (17-19-1); getting close for Charlotte (20-16) & Portland (20-15).

Nowhere near balanced: Indy, Phoenix, New York & Milwaukee.

My experience is teams rarely sustain 65+% of either total or ATS side for the first full half/40+ games of a season. Indy, Milwaukee & Phoenix are all entering that zone where a real statistical reversal in the results they'v been biased towards providing is called for.

taking longer looks at recent and future schedules, travel, etc,, i think some teams have a hit a wall, lots of b2b, 3 in 5 , 4 in 6, injuries catching up etc...

Amazing. At Covers there is much love for Boston. Boston playing 5 in 7. Boston 1-5 ATS last 6 away. Clippers have 2 more soft home games before going on a fairly tough road trip. They will make the most of them.

GS playing 5 in 7 along with 9th game without 2 days off. They did not cover at Atlanta in the only b-b game in this streak. Buyer beware first impression.

With a win in Brooklyn, the Warriors would be the first team in NBA history to sweep a 7-game road trip

how many 7 game road trips have there been?

how many of those had the team win their first 6 and then lose the 7th?

Umm, what's going on with the total in New Orleans?

[h=2]PISTONS AT RAPTORS, 7 P.M. ET[/h] January 8, 2014 · 6:15PM
TV: League Pass

  • The Toronto Raptors (16-17) return home after dropping consecutive games on the road against the Heat and Pacers — the two top teams in the Eastern Conference. While they have struggled at home (6-8), they have won seven of their last eight games against sub .500 teams, the Detroit Pistons (14-21), fall into that category.
  • Detroit is hoping to snap a five-game losing streak. Eight of their fourteen wins are on the road and tonight marks their first of three meetings with the Raptors this season.
  • Pistons shooting guard, Rodney Stuckey, who has been averaging 14.0 points per game off the bench, will be back in the lineup after missing three games with a right shoulder injury. Raptors forward Tyler Hansbrough will be sidelined again with a sprained left ankle.
  • “The last two games should tell us how far we have to go. Those are two very talented teams and are established programs. They’ve tasted the finals of the conference, they’ve tasted championships and they know big play moments.”
    – Raptors Head Coach Dwane Casey on why his team should still be hungry.

[h=2]MAVERICKS AT SPURS, 7 P.M. ET[/h] January 8, 2014 · 6:09PM
TV: ESPN

  • Manu Ginobili will miss tonight’s game for the Spurs (27-8) with a tight hamstring. He grabbed it after making the game-winning shot on a layup last night at Memphis. “I think it’s probably just for tonight. When someone says their hamstring is tight and asks to come off the court and it’s Manu Ginobili, you don’t take any chances,” coach Gregg Popovich said.
  • Shawn Marion (shoulder contusion) is out tonight and could miss another game or two for the Mavericks (20-15). He tripped over his own teammate, Dirk Nowitzki, in the second quarter of last night’s home win over the Lakers and did not make the trip. “He’s banged up, in an uncomfortable state right now, but there was nothing serious from the diagnostics tests,” coach Rick Carlisle said. Wayne Ellington started the second half last night in Marion’s spot.
  • Popovich will shuffle the rotation since the bench will miss a spark with Ginobili out. Danny Green goes back into the starting lineup and Marco Belinelli, who has started the last eight games at off-guard, returns to a reserve role. “We’ll have another ball-handler (Belinelli) with that second team,” Popovich said. “It lets Danny play with Tony (Parker).”
  • The switch in the Spurs’ starting lineup wasn’t good news for Carlisle: “Green has been whacking us every time we play them.” He scored 22 points the last time the teams played when San Antonio won 116-107 on December 26 in Dallas. Green came off the bench that night, played 27 minutes, was 7-for-7 from the floor (five 3-pointers) and scored 22 points.
  • Samuel Dalembert stands to see an increase in playing time with Marion out. After missing a practice, Dalembert was benched two games back in a homecourt loss to the Knicks and played 13 minutes last night.
  • The Spurs will be without Tiago Splitter for the second night because of a right shoulder sprain that is expected to keep him out at least three weeks. Jeff Ayers started for him last night (2 points, 3 rebounds, 22 minutes) and will do so again tonight. The Spurs are not expected to sign anyone while Splitter is out. “We’ll play with what we have,” Popovich said.
