Pretty much a regular
Both the Clippers and the Suns are missing a huge piece of their respective puzzles; Kawhi for the Clips and CP3 for the Suns. This will be Kawhi's 3rd game out, with the Clippers adapting well, as other players have stepped up majorly in the previous 2 (games 5 & 6 in the Utah series). I just don't foresee the Suns being able to compensate for CP3's absence as well as the Clips have for Leonard's.
So, edge to the Clippers? Not so fast. The Clippers figure to be gassed here with key players logging major minutes in the past two games. Paul George, Batum, and Marcus Morris played in excess of 40 minutes 4 nights ago at altitude in Utah. Then George played 45, and Batum 39 two nights ago at the Staples Center. Additionally, with this being a 12:30 PDT start, the Clips are playing with an abbreviated rest since their last game.
The Suns have had 6 days off since their last game and may be rusty, so the Clips may well get the jump in this game. But look for the Suns to wear the Clips down and take control as the game progresses.
