Wazzou @ Baylor Tonight

I'm still trying to sort out my mess from last weekend. Like most got hammered and not in a good way.

Here's my scoop for tonight.

I just got off the phone with my favorite WR in college football and they just left Pullman for the airport about 30 minutes ago. They won't arrive to the stadium until about 3 to 3.5 hours before kickoff. They are going through their walk thrus and everything else in the locker room and they do not get to watch film either. Basically their game day schedule is all out of whack.

Kevin Lopina is starting tonight at QB, but they may rotate Lopina with Rogers. Rogers has the arm, but can't hit the broad side of a barn. Lopina is very quick and fits the spread they are running EXCEPT my source says he can barely throw it past 30 yards with any zip and/or accuracy.

There also won't be any Wazzou fans there tonight, because they're all booked to leave tomorrow.

It's definitely a get-in, get-out situation for Wazzou. Evidently the coaching staff was pissed the game isn't postponed because it's basically thrown all their travel and game day routines out of whack. Having been in DI athletics myself, coaches LOVE routines and the players become like robots. When things are thrown out of whack, it definitely plays a roll.

Although Baylor isn't great, they're not much worse than Wazzou. I got the Bears at -2.5 and am going big based on the fact Wazzou doesn't want to be there and their schedule is out of whack. Add to that Lopina is staring and it could be ugly all around in Waco.

Man. Baylor is bad too. I wish they were playing a SLIGHTLY stronger opponent and were laying 6 or 6.5 in this same situation because it is a great one.

I don't like the fact I'm on a bad Bears team. I'm betting more on Lopina sucks and the team is off their routine. Add to that the late travel time and I'm on the Bears.

I know what it's like to have those plans messed up. It's bigger than most people realize.

I've been leaning to Baylor and I think I'm just going to go ahead and take the plunge. It's a very important game for both teams, but Baylor has a leader they believe in with Robert Griffin, they are playing at home, and Wazzo is all jacked in the head.

I don't know how much I would care being 200 miles inland from a hurricane that is only a category 3 when it hits land.

Yes, it will devastate the island of Galvaston, but it will lose so much power from being over so much land. By the time it makes it to Waco, it will rustle some trees, and rain a little. No big deal.

Thanks Hoops. To be honest not to familiar with Baylor and the state of Texas . I could have looked at a map but was rushing around abit . These fuckers seem to be making it like its end of the world heading over Texas so thats what I was going on. Still though being the game was changed , there is hurricane that has to be impacting relatives and friends , plus its Baylor which I would assume doesnt exactly have a huge fan base to begin with . WHich I could be wrong about....

I just think the game is one huge headache for each side . It sucks being rushed to Baylor all the way from Wash State but the game was moved up half a day not 2 days ...just think the line got way out of hand ....

No problem SN. I live about 3 miles from the beach in NC, and lived about 7 from the beach in Myrtle Beach for the past 5 years. So I've been through some category 1's a category 2, and a few tropical storms. I know how people tend to react to these type of storms.

Hell, Hannah made landfall here, and no one blinked.

I agree that the line has gotten out of hand, but I believe that is because Mr. Walters is on the Bears, at several numbers, from what I hear at least.

You can downplay it all you want. Its not like a tornado or earthquake where it happens and you deal with the aftermath.

The butterflies, the concerns etc are something you cant explain.
Having just been through this with an even smaller weaker storm I can tell you that the people that have a clue are very concerned.

Those tree rustling 80 mph winds took my fucking shingles with them.
Trees down all over the place with 1 in 5 imbedded in my neighbors homes. 200 miles inland does steal some of the power I must admit but its still a very big deal. I think Texas totally screwed this up and waited too long to react. They are use to us taking the hit and this time I think Texas will be one the media scrutinizes. I deal with the aftermath of these storms and I can tell you first hand its not going to be pretty.
The death toll in TX may not equal Katrina but it will be in the mid 100s easily. God bless Texas and SE LA.

Ok disregard my post. You get it but how many hurricanes the size of Katrina or Ike have nailed NC? The category # is being overstated here.
The mere size and storm surge will be where the real damage is done.
Imagine a 600 mile wide storm with 70 mph winds. That is what Texas is about to deal with.

Just to grasp the size of Ike the fucker knocked my power out this AM.
I also lost more shingles from Ike and it was 200+ miles out in the gulf.
Been getting 40mph gusts all afternoon and I am East of Baton Rouge.
