Thoughts? I kind of like jlo and alves at that price, but I know that favorites always seem to win on fight night!!
 
Florian is a stud best on the ground he finishes fights , Alexander houston should win--

THe real pick is Chiuck LIDDEL at -260 vs Rashad EVANS?? He will blast Evans out of the ring
 
i have never bet one of these but the josh neer +150 looks kind of good to me .....

ahitspat , sammy , anyone else ... have thoughts on that fight ?

i actually like a lot of dogs in this one... about half of the fights are VERY competitive (unlike the previous UFNs), should be fun
 
yeah this is by far the best UFN they have ever put together!


i'm kinda mad i'm going to miss it b/c i'm going to the pens/flyers game tomorrow.....

Kenny Florian vs. Joe Lauzon

Florian is well known for his role on season one of The Ultimate Fighter. After losing to Sean Sherk more than a year ago, Florian has bounced back nicely and is currently riding a three win streak in the UFC. Lauzon is a fellow TUF alum, who also owns a three fight win streak. While Florian is older and has fought in the UFC longer, he actually has less overall fight experience than the 23 year old Lauzon. Both are well rounded fighters, but Florian is better fighting from his back and holds an advantage kickboxing/Muay Thai. Lauzon is the better boxer and wrestler. Based on their advantages and disadvantages the fight could really go either way. Sure Kenflo finishes fights and I love the guy, but I believe Lauzon's superior top control and strength advantage should be enough to put an end to Florian's streak.

Thiago Alves vs. Karo Parisyan

This welterweight battle could help shape who's next in line to get a whoopin’ from GSP. The normally exciting Parisyan is coming off a lackluster decision victory over Ryo Chonan and needs an impressive win to get that elusive title shot. Alves seems to have overcome the inconsistency that plagued him during his first few fights and has since reeled off four straight wins. I believe the winner of this fight will be determined by what kind of strategy Parisyan employs. If the 25 year old can utilize his awesome Judo skills and throw Alves around like a rag doll, he should be able to pull out the win. If he decides to try and trade strikes with Alves, he could be in big trouble. I think Karo gets caught up in trying to put on a good show and ends up on the wrong side of a big knockout.

Matt Hamill vs. Tim Boetsch

This light heavyweight match up features two former collegiate wrestlers who love to brawl. Hammil is a TUF alum who lost (controversially) his last fight to Michael Bisping. Boetsch made a major splash back in February as a late injury replacement, by defeating David Heath with a highlight reel throw. While the jury is still out on Boetsch, I think his power and Hamill's lack of refined standup (he ALWAYS leaves his hands low) will lead to a big win for Boetsch.

Kurt Pellegrino vs. Nate Diaz

This lightweight battle has about as much talent as the actual main event. Pellegrino is veteran who is coming off a miraculous come back win over Alberto Crane. Diaz was the winner of TUF 5 and has won (in impressive fashion) his last two fights. Both fighters are wizards on the ground, and it’s hard to hate a guy that likes to “beat people up” but I believe Pellegrino's better boxing skills and experience will make the difference.

James Irvin vs. Houston Alexander

This light heavyweight bout features two of the scariest looking men to ever grace the Octagon. Both are heavily tattooed, well built and fight like their lives depend on it. Irvin's been the victim of back luck recently, winning a fight via disqualification and losing a fight via injury. Alexander burst onto the scene with two devastating knockouts, but was utterly embarrassed during his last fight… he looked preschool on the ground. Each is looking for a little redemption and should put on quite a show. While neither can be considered well rounded fighters, I think Alexander's standup technique and raw aggression- you watch his all access?- should be enough to put "The Sandman" to sleep.

Gray Maynard vs. Frankie Edgar

This bout proves just how stacked this card really is. Edgar is undefeated in the UFC, has participated in some very memorable bouts and is considered one of the best lightweights in the world. Maynard is a TUF alum who is also undefeated and has also been part of a memorable bout (his no-contest fight with Rob Emerson). Both fighters are extremely good wrestlers, but I think Edgar is the better, more experienced fighter overall.

Manny Gamburyan beats Jeff Cox

Clay Guida defeats Samy Schiavo

George Sotiropoulos over Roman Mitichyan

Anthony Johnson over Tommy Speer

Heed the fact that in the past UFNs favorites usually dominate (I think one dog won last time) so keep that in mind when you lock your bets. I think, however, that this will be the most competitive card to date with a number of good fights. I hope that Alexander wins in 30sec again so that we can see some of the undercard/swing bout.
 
nice write ups... I like dinyero a lot too because he is a much better fighter all around. I see him with a decision victory over neer. Plus isnt neer's nickname the dentist... now i know there is no way he can win. lol. GL
 
I dont think much of Hamill his stand up looks off balance and he's ineffective at causing damage on the ground.
 
Unfortunatly too busy to post I think the value was on Johnson, Thomas and Edgar (if you got the lines early), Boetsch perhaps, Alves again if you got the line early, and probably Lauzon but im not sold on this one.

I seen some really nice lines yesterday on sportsbook but you have to be american they had edgar and thomas at -160
 
Well this night went over poorly for me. I was ill prepared and it showed. The only thing I did right was to keep my bets relaively small lol.

I thought Florian looked good tonight he was landing strikes the moment the fight hit the ground.

I was happy Alves won, I wanted to bet him but the line went down and never came back up. I don't think Parysian is ever going to get the title shot he wants unless he can make major improvements.

Edgar looked like a midget next to Maynard and Maynard was simply the better fighter. I was simply on the wrong side of that one.

I think Pellegrino is the better fighter but it seems he lacks a drive to win and I think thats what this fight came down to. After the first round, where pellegrino was dominant, i said Diaz is going to win, and sure enough...

Should have known to stick with Hamill in this fight, though I dont think much of Hamill, Boetschs' cardio was no where neer good enough, basically he needed a KO in the first round. Like I expected, Hamill did nothing on the ground but lay on top.

The only one I called correctly Johnson first round KO. I wanted more on this fight but missed the line ugh.

LOL at Alexander getting KOd in under 10s, I actually though he would win this fight.
 
knew i should have taken neer at +150. of course i didnt bet it ... not that i would have had much on it but crap....
