Lawler-both should come out ready to bang, lawler is 40 now (though we've seen a number of older fighters do well lately), this will be a close fight. lawler coming off a win over nick diaz. think he hits harder and is a little better at avoiding damage. barbarena is younger though he's taken a ton of damage, he did struggle vs matt brown in his last fight in a close split dec win which is concerning, also losing to jason witt last summer is concerning as well. Lawler has fought the whose who in the ufc, a number of his recent losses were to higher end competition like covington and RDA. (the askren loss isnt good but lawler was unlucky the ref didn't stop that one, think he punched himself out there). lawler is the better wrestler/grappler if he happens to go that route (i'll be surprised if he did but if he really wants to win this is a strong path for him). This isn't a strong play but its a pickem line and think lawler has the better shot to get the finish.

Strickland-facing pereira a strong kickboxer/striker. strickland very diverse, can go for takedowns if he wants to or could jab from range. Stickland has the better grappler/submission game. Pereira can be taken down and has been vs lessor wrestlers. If strickland fights smart here he should be able to easily wrestle-fuck pereira to an easy decision or sub. if he decides to stand and bang he puts himself at risk as thats pereira's best shot to win is on the feet. Sean is so close to a title shot, he needs to focus on just winning and i think he will. Think the odds are a bit off, stickland should be a bigger fav.
