Didn't see a thread from you guys so I started one..
Whats the deal on Joe West in SD tonight. I want to play Over 7.5 with the two pitchers on the mound rather than take a side in this game as of right now.
Harang This Yr:
4/7- Pitt - W - 5.2ip, 8h, 5er, 1bb, 6k
4/13- @CHC- ND - 4ip, 9h, 5er, 2bb, 3k
4/18- Hou - ND - 6ip, 3h, 1er, 2bb, 8k
4/24- @STL - W - 7.2ip, 5h, 2er, 1bb, 5k
4/29- @Pitt - W - 8ip, 10h, 5er, 1bb, 9k
5/5 - Colo - L - 5ip, 8h, 5er, 1bb, 8k
5/10- Hou - W - 6.2ip, 9h, 5er, 1bb, 2k
He has given up 5er in his last 3 starts and he has done that in 5/7 starts this yr... The Reds bullpen is also terrible and should account for atleast 1 run if they come in for duty near the 6th. The thing to notice about the Reds is that they are 6-2 when Harang pitches and he has a 5.4era, they give him run support..
Wells this yr:
4/13 - @LA - L - 2.1ip, 8h, 5er, 0bb, 1k
4/18 - Ari - ND - 7ip, 3h, 2er, 1bb, 4k
4/24 - @Ari - W - 5ip, 8h, 5er, 2bb, 3k
4/29 - LA - ND - 5ip, 9h, 4er, 0bb, 3k
5/5 - @FLA - ND - 5.1ip, 8h, 3er, 3bb, 1k
5/10 - @ATL - L - 5.2ip, 7h, 5er, 4bb, 3k
I have no reason to believe that Wells makes it to the 6th today as with every start he is a few days older and getting older for him is not a good thing. He made it to the 7th once against a light hitting Arizona team that jumped all over his curveball.. His time has come and I am expecting a typical 5ip, 8-9h, 4-5runs from him tonight. Of course, with the way the Reds are swinging he might look reborn with his curve tonight.
Weather:
Cloudy with a light wind at 7mph blowing acorss the field.
The Umpire:
Joe West: 6-1 O/U this yr. 1.63 k/bb ratio. In 06 he was 17-17 on O/U and in 05 was 17-19 O/U so he prob is not a member of the club but with what he has been doing this yr added up with the two pitchers and a shitty bullpen there is a lot of positive for the Over.
The park is a pitcher's park and this is Harang's return to his hometown but this is a low total imo that I doubt reaches 7 and if anything goes up to 8.. If the Reds hit tonight they could come close themselves with a nice 5-6runs, just need the Padres to do their part here.
Do we have a play? I am starting to like the O/U a lot more now..
