If you are a big believer in recent history, there is a lot to like about ASU tonight, and if you are a believer in the revenge factor, you probably like ULL. ASU embarrassed the Cajuns on their own home field last yr 50-27, in a nationally televised mid week game, that the Cajuns haven't forgotten about. The Red Wolves have thrived in these mid week TV contests, for whatever reason. They have won 7 straight mid week games, and are 11-3 SU overall in them. They have also won 14 of their last 15 home games, since the programs turn around 3 yrs ago. As far as the matchup goes, ASU comes in with a few extra days of prep time, and not having to travel, while ULL had to play a road game last Tuesday. The Cajuns were completely dominated in the 1st half against WKU, but turnovers and dumb coaching moves kept them in it. They shut down the WKU running game in the 2nd half, and rolled to a huge win. ASU brings a much more balanced offense to the table, having a clear advantage over WKU in QB and WR's. They should be able to exploit a shaky and inexperienced ULL secondary, and if they can avoid the TO's that plagued WKU, should be able to put up points. Adam Kennedy has been phenomenal stepping in to replace 2 time POY Ryan Aplin at QB, leading the Sun Belt QB's in total offense. The Cajuns also lost a starting DL'man to injury last week, and also had a starting LB suffer a concussion. He has been cleared to play but will not start. Should be a very entertaining game, and the weather should be perfect, and a non factor.
