I actually think Chicago can run with Phoenix, will have to take a further look once they O/U is released

I think Orlando is getting a bit too much respect....I'm not sold on the Clippers being back to form from last year, but I don't think the Magic should be laying 4.5. Also fits a nice angle of a Western Conf team getting points vs an Eastern Conf.

I'd like GSw-3 but on the road they seem to play poorly.....and NOK plays defense.

Den-7.5 I might consider, but the defense is a bit porous and philly is tough to figure out sometimes. But I think Denver will just start to pull away at the end of the game.

If it wasnt a revenge spot I would love the Cavs. I bet lines , I bet to beat the line....so if in a line is inaccurate in my eyes I pounce..to me thats what handicapping is about not guessing who will win..Cant think of 1 reason why this line should be -3.5 in Cleveland....your telling me if they played in SA it would be -9.5?? What scares me is SA has paybacked Char & Utah already with beatings.. I see solid teams like LAL , GS(100% healthy not now) , Utah all winnin when SA was favored...bad line IMO....just wondering though if SA is ateam who always plays extra motivated with revenge at stake..LeBron seems to like playing against SA...Cavs won 3 of 5 at home in the series and a 2 pt loss as well.

I understand what you are saying, but I don't like betting on Cavs with SA having revenge. Now I do not know if SA will give extra effort because of the loss they had at home, but Spurs aren't on a b2b here. Not sure about the "flu" angle though....If SA would have taken care of business earlier at home, I wouldn't mind this line on Cleveland...but considering the factors I would have to lean SA or no play

Interesting thoughts so far. I'm still in recovery from New Years and all the bowl shenanigans, but I see value in SA tomorrow.
Ok, so the Cavs play well at home, but are they the better team? Definitely not.
Spurs are a good road team and I see no reason why they can't get a win here. Mike Brown has definitely been keying on this game for while which makes me a little nervous. All of these games lately the Cavs have been winning but have also had 1 bad quarter at least everygame. Every interview I hear from Brown is about playing solid for the entire 48 mins because great teams will pounce when a bad quarter happens.
So what does this mean?
Absolutely nothing. I believe Cavs will play well for 3 out of 4 quarters and will lay an egg sometime early or sometime late. I don't even believe the Cavs are confident about winning this one. I'd play Spurs and maybe the under.

Again, I'm not back in NBA mode yet, so my thoughts could be totally wrong...

I'm not such a huge fan of REVENGE games, or if teams really do think about it much. Certain games are exceptions of course, if the team was blown out. If the team lost at home on a season opener while getting their rings (miami against chicago). Other than that, I just think revenge games are overrated. Yeah, there will be to some point, a factor of revenge, but does that mean they will pour their heart and soul out for this game? No, i don't think so. It's a season game, and not a playoff game. Yes that's just about right at 3.5. Don't let the Cavs home record deceive you, they haven't been against the strong playoff contenders at home, most are below .500. Just last week, i think, they got blown out by the Pistons at home.

I've been waiting and waiting for Denver to win a game without scoring 100 themselves (which, with their total lines now, will always be an Under result). I'm thinking this is the one. Philly had 1 period with LA where the 3 ball from both sides went in, a fact that otherwise hides what that game really should have tallied (180s at best). Denver has come back to Earth now AI's newness is passed, and the grind has begun for them sans Smith & Melo = 4 Unders last 5 games. Would not be suprised to see Phillys scoreline vs POR repeated here, 98-93 kinda game.

hi guys, happy new year & all the best. Barely recovered from the party, so I'm back with some thoughts

I think my Spurs are correctly set here and to be honest I expected such a line, regardless of a revenge spot, which I also think we might be considering a bit too much. Ok, these are the Spurs, and once they lose to someone, especially at home, they're goinna want to set the record straight, but we all know this isn't anything similar to a win-or-die situation, they're gonna come out and play, if they lose nothing tragic will happen. However this could be a matchup game, the Spurs just have more to bring than the Cavs, and even though it's not a pick'em situation the odds are still takeable if you ask me.

Plus I would think the Spurs are focused more on trying to regain the division top spot than beating the Cavs in a revenge game. -3,5 is the correct number here if you ask me and I would consider Spurs bettable tonight. Still considering it, will write it here what I took in the end.

I know cavs have done well being a home underdog in their more recent past (can't remember the exact numbers, but last time they were here, remembering seeing a trend like 11-3 or 12-3 or something), will add back later if i remember

At the same time austin the magic havent exactly been playing great ball lately...and the clippers still havent shown anything to prove they can win on the road...

So 2 attempts to reply completely wasted!!

With the revenge angle the word is completely misused. There is no way Miami @ Chicago is a good example cause first Chi is the better team and second Miami is minus Shaq...who regardless of his capabilities they are a better team with him. Here we are talking about an elite team who lost to a good team. I can tell you any good athlete or good team for that matter KNOWS who beat them and will make there best attempt to make sure it doesnt happen again...If someone beats Champ Bailey for 2 TDS he is looking to shut them down next meeting...well if SA loses a game at home to a team they feel they should have beaten, you can expect a focused effort in my opinion.....

With regards to the line I dont believe there is any foundation to believe Cle would be any worse then 7.5 in SA today. They were only 5.5 with a clean slate early on in the season..after stinking on the road some it would be adjusted higher....looking at the teams in the -8 range in SA: LAC , GS , SAC , HOU , UTAH , MILW......they are not better then Cle ...Jazz/ Hou would be a PK probably on a neutral court...so I dont see why this line would be higher the -1.5.....
