-NYY RL.
Fading Contreras. Wang is much better then Contreras. Contreras have one good game, that in Baltimore. But against better lineup or scariest lineup if you want, he allowed more runs. Here I mean on Tigers. NYY hit lefties. well.

-Rockies
After 4 straight wins they lost (probably, because right now is 9th inning and is 9-5 for Phillies.) 2 games. Looking for first Francis win this year. Colorado leads whole yesterdays game, but then in the end of the game Phillies won. I know Philadelphia hits lefties well and Francis don't have the best record vs them, but still Francis is good pitcher and now he can count also on some run support. Mayers is 5-0 vs Rockies with ERA 2,43 what is impressive, but he did not pich against them in 2007 and only one game in 2006. Still -120 looks good.

-Brewers
STL are not good vs lefties and Brewers are not good vs righties. I expect U9 run game and home win

playing Lohse at near even money..Back-end of Brewers bullpen is a disaster. Turnbow and Gagne:hang:

Thats the only play for me..

Would be real careful backing Lohse away. I understand what you are saying with Milw pen and agree...

However Lohse had a 6 ERA last year away and it was basically double his home splits...

Just one start away and he was very medicore vs SFG this year 8 hits in 5.1 inn but only 2 runs.

Past 2 season he has allowed RHB to hit a higher clip then LHP...282 v 276 LYR and 305 v 288 in 2006...

Cards struggling vs LHP especially away..

Zito 6 inn 7h 1 er 4 r 1 2K
-Made one mistake that day and Pujols crushed it but his best outing of a dreary 07...

Wandy Rodriguez 7.1 3H 0 runs 0bb 6 K

Didnt do much at home vs Sanchez , Parra , Lannan or Chico...

Could be a game where the pen doesnt come into play....Parra doesnt have many home starts think just the 1 this year to go but would expect if the trends hold up he goes 6 innings.......

Well 2 days games to focus on and I absolutely suck lately with decision making worst 4 day stretch I can remember because I have zero discipline at the moment...need to take a step back and SLOW DOWN....

Like I mentioned already really like Milwaukee at home. Say what you want about there pen they are just a tough team to beat at home and have now lost consecutive games late .

The Kyle Lohse I see is a guy who since arriving in the NL has been two extremely different SP at Home and Away. Also look at who Lohse has faced this season at home Col , Wash and Milw plus SFG away. Looking at the when he faced them they all seemed to be slumping BADLY. Col started off slow on offense , and Wash hasnt done much at all especially after there first 3 games , Milw was really struggling vs RHP and since they faced Lohse they seemed to improve somewhat after pulling that game out in extras. Lohse the past 2 season has been hit harder by RHB certainly a plus when looking at Milw lineup. he allowed 8 hits and 1bb walk in 5.1 innings at SF with 2 runs and 2 Ks...8hits equals a 364 BAA and that was SF..NO Molina, Rowand or Bowker that day either...

Lohse has struggled with Counsell who I expect to play as he was 3/3 and now is 7/13 career vs him , Kapler is 4/7 and only Bill Hall has 10abs going 1/10 . Milw has scored 68 times in 11 day games going 8-3. While STL is 4-4 and scored 28 times in those 8 games...

With Parra throwing strikes has been an issue in his past 2 road starts and hopefully he can correct in the comfort of his own park.

Milw 103 -66 at home 2 + seasons while STL is now 79-99 2 + seasons away..

This is Manny Parra's early returns and probably a plus when the MILW guys are pitching for the roster spots or at least rotation turns.

Just hard for me to see value when MILW is HOME now and the games in STL were about Cards -120...Milw has know blown consecutive games so this might be a big game for them...

Also at Wrigley rememeber NYM is 8-1 vs LHSP this year and Lilly is struggling though he was somewhat better last time out. Figuerora makes his 1st road start after shocking us with 2 consecutive good home starts vs Milw and Was though...

Just not sure whats wrong with Lilly but he was real good at home and in day games last year plus his lone start vs NYM.

Cubbies are hot winning 7 of 8...8-4 in day games vs 2-4 for NYM who also had to play a late game in Philly on Sunday and could be still flat here.

Despite the great trend vs LHP I just dont see the benefit in fading Chicago at the moment when its even money and Figuerora on the mound......

OTHERS-

Pirates ? I must like punishment they look terrible but again ther SP is putting them in huge holes. So far Nolasco doesnt look the same as a few years back allowing 6 hrs and 16 hits in 9.2 innings..

Marlins around 200 on the road and combined vs LHP. Didnt much vs Odalis Perez twice , Wandy Rodriguez and not suprisingly Santana and Perez but did face Maholm and get 5 runs in 5 innings. However that was due to 2 Hrs as they had jst 5 hits and maholm whifffed 9.

Maholm just a better SP at home and in Night games...4.14 Home ERA vs 6.14 Away and 4.11 Night ERA vs 6.91 ERA...this is just how its been past 2 + seasons...

So Maholm was decent the 1st time he faced Fla but is now home and pitching at night when his numbers are best...and he was favored in that game and Nolasco clearlya dropoff from Hendrickson right now....they have lost 6 straight because in 5 of them the SP got shelled and now there pen is taxed...Maholm definetly better then Matt Morris atthis point as well...Pitt 6-5 vs RHP but 1-7 vs LHP...

Reds ? Volquez has been solid and Cincy just cant win an opener now 0-7 in Game 1s..

Volzquez needs to conserve pitches and last longer but Kuo is still building arm strength as he went 4 innings last game...Reds dont matchup well vs LHP but still should have a nice edge as they didnt hit in ATL all weekend and smoking Belisle off the DL shouldnt change much...assume Park or Loaiza is in long relief here...LA came in today at 206 away and 238 vs RHP...

TB? Litsch has good splits vs TB but he also faced them all 3 times in the 2nd H last year when TB typical does poorly especially when they travel. He has been okay so far but the jays pen has been inconsistent of late and somewhat stretched while the offense is struggling. Shields is the best TB ha sto offer and you get a 1 vs a 5 here...Shields has been hurt by shoddy defense and held TOR to a 192 clip in 3 starts..teams have stack LHB vs him and that has been somewhat a concern but jays dont offer much from the LH side Stairs , Overbay and Zaun? they are 1/20 vs him!! Wells and Rios 1/9 each and Hill 3/8...so your looking at 6 for 46 from 6 guys...Stewart , Inglett , Barajas , McDonald , Eckstein ?? the guys who should fill the other 3 spots...so far all TB relievers has ERS under 2.85 with reyes on the DL...

Looking at NYY under and possibly NYY. Wang was real good last year in 2 starts @ Chicago allowing 2 runs in 16 innings but wantto see the indivual splits hith so much lineup turnover for them. Contreras was ON last start and expect it to continue for now. In his previous 5 starts vs his old team he was real solid but terrible in the last one. Only 6 earned in 22 home innings vs NY which two starts were in 07......

Over 8 SD...Said they were telling you to take the over @ Houston today andone of my few correct calls...Both SP weer solid 1st meeting but Peavy has seen a dropooff when he travels from unhittable to All Star...doesnt pitch much in Hous butthe last 3 have seen at least 9 runs there and Backe was torched last game...bats seems alive ...

So trying to narrow my plays down as much as possible...

Cards , Pirates , TB , Over SD and Under yankees with lesser leans to Reds and Yanks..

Sport, good stuff I always like reading your stuff, I would be careful with those Pirates of mine though

no opinion on the hotly disputed cards/brewcrew game here in the discussion thread.

lean pirates and yanks as well , sportsnut

barksdale is an under-to-neutral guy in my book. Backe pitches ALOT better at home than away. not enthralled with the over there.

i am done backing reds against lefties even when it looks decent, as it does here.

Guess I feel in Houston that Backe has struggled his last 2 starts. Now it might not appear the game vs FLA was a struggle but he did have 5 walks and 5 hits in 5 innings despite no runs but FLA stranded 9 runners and he was said to be aided by some fine defense then he goes out vs Philly and gets absolutely shelled. So just not expecting an excellent start from him as SD will be seeing him for the 2nd time this month. He has also allowed 39 baserunners in 19 innings across 4 starts even his 1st 2 starts were medicore with 17 baserunners in 11 innnings..granted SD lineup is not great but it should push some runs home here especially since Houston pen is erractic.

SD is 26-8-2 Over last 36 away..

Most pitchers see differences in there home - road splits but some guys are drastic. There is different types of drastic though. I might categorize Peavys as drastic cause at home is borderline unhittable and on the road human.

Seriously though 24 inn 9 hits allowed and 1 run in 3 home starts vs just 1 start at LAD which he went 6 innings allowing 9 hits and 3 runs....so that one start basically exceeded his 24 home innings ! He has pitched once ayear @ Houston recently
7 inn 1 run ,7inn 2 run , 5.2 inn 5 runs amd 5 innings 1 run.

What sticks out is SD pen doesnt seem to be as automatic as years past and they should have 2 pitch at least 2 innings here. Despite allwoing just 3 runs past 2 years there Houston still managed to score 7 times in those games...

Granted there was little difference last year in his splits and me possibly reading to much into 1 away start so far bt his career numbers are 3.73 ERA 2.46 BAA compared to 2.85 and 217BAA

His totals inHouston have been 8 (13ov), 9(9push) , 7.5 (9ov)and 8.5(under 6 runs)...but in SD they last 4 meetings have produced 4 runs or less...

Pen ERAs 5.10 and 4.70.....

Good sign for SD offense the LH vets got it going..Giles 2 doubles , Gozo 1stHR since April 7th and Edmonds 1st Hr of the year which all came off Oswalt and there obvious dropoff to Backe..

Guess I think SD breaks out a bit here gets at least 5 runs and Hous should get about 3 based on there recent hitting plus some trends..

Berkman , Tejada and Matsui swinging well for Hous now as well...

:shake:

Over is 6-0 in Peavys last 6 road starts with the total set at 7.0-8.5.
Over is 5-0 in Peavys last 5 starts as a road favorite of -151 to -200.
Over is 7-0 in Peavys last 7 road starts.
Over is 7-0 in Peavys last 7 starts as a road favorite.
Over is 5-1 in Peavys last 6 road starts vs. a team with a losing record.
Granted most every trend for Hous with Backe at home or vs a RH is strong to the under but since SD is favored think theres may carry more weight

Agree 100% with you on the Cubs Sportsnut. I just posted my thoughts about it in my thread. Gonna sleep over that STL/MIL game. Those are interesting stats on Lohse away games but this Parra guys walks a ton and that is something I don't like.

Well, I can't say that you don't have your reasons. Some interesting trends there as well.

Figure San Diego salivates every time they get to hit out of petco.

Still not a fan of that play but i atleast see where you are coming from. You won't see me on the under or anything.

I really like reading the information you provide. bol manana

I guess with me big thing for these guys is situational regarding home and away. Young guys like Parra I would expect to be much better at home then on the road which his last 2 starts were. While his control hasnt been great it was really the start @ STL where it was an issue as he registered 5 of his 8 walks...The same goes for Lohse he is just very poor on the road and I would need incentive as in high price to back him or vs a shit team which neither fits here. Also he does worse vs RHB over his career and that hurts him with Milw possibly negating there weakness...STL had what appeared to be a huge edge in SP today and need a bullpen collapse to win it..... here MILW might have the edge since STL has struggled vs LHP so far and Lohse splits double on the road....

Damn Frank u sleep? Thanks for the info though...have Milw in a variety of ways..

Still thinking about the Cubbies and Mets though...

Trying to show more discipline so passed on the Cubbies game...as of 1st pitch leaned Under 10.5 at + money and Cubbies lesser , thougt about a parlay but it went OTB...yeah wind was out but these lineups are weakened by the mid week day game after a night especially factoring NY travel late Sunday from Philly...Lilly showing slight improvement in his last start hasnt pitched that badly at home its the fact he allowed 9 runs which doesnt jive with a 250BAA just poor pitching in key spots....Figuerora though I dont trust him has pitched well and both teams have shaky pens that tend to be deep and could plug in a respectable pitcher for awhile.....thinking Cubs 5 or 6 to Mets 3 or 4....but not more then 10 runs here...last weeks barrage when the wind was blowing out vs CIncy probably makes it easier to rationalize an over here which I think is a mistake...

GL all just getting my thoughts down to refer to later and maybe help someone looking to play an ingame if available to them....

Also note in general LEAN under in the NL and over in the AL today for totals...but UNDER The Salami....just a reverse of what we have seen past few days...

FYI: Beckett is scratched tonight. David Pauley starts.

Info on Pauley: David Pauley was summoned from Triple-A Pawtucket. Pauley, 24, made three starts for Boston last season and allowed 14 runs on 31 hits in 16 innings. He is 1-1 with a 1.17 ERA in three starts this season for Pawtucket

Boston is now -120, LAA EV

Good stuff Houghton and Thank You.

Thank GOODNESS MILW won that game....especially caused Ipassed on what would have been 3 winners ...Over 4.5 1st 5inn Milw and the Under 10. Cubs @ + money and Cubbies...I could use the wins but the important part is I won the Brewers and my thoughts were TIGHT!:shake:

Figuring out what else....gonna be on Pitt almost certainly....

Also as bad as Milw pen has been why not shakeup the roles?

We could have had Torres instead of Riske . then Mota in the 8th inning and Gagne to close......might have saved that 4 run 6thinning...Shouse picthes every damn day....

Finally a real good day naturally I kept it small because I sucked the past 4 days but 14-6 in MLB( 12-6 on what I played) and that was with forced plays on the last 2 NL unders....

Most of the games werent easy like the big ones I had Pittsburgh , Milw and Over 8.5 SD / Houston but they won more importantly.....

I really over extended myself on the Rockets game yesterday getting my balls handed to me cause I had Houston every which way and the 2nd H over losing all of them.....think I lost almost 23 units yesterday and today with no plays bigger then 2.5 units won about 22.50 or so thanks to cashing 4 parlays risked 2.3 units and won about 15 units....shame I fucked myself so much the past four days at least it took just one day to get a big chunk back...

Gotta just acknowledge when a line moves in a manner that concerns me to tone it down or pass instead of firing away......

shame I fucked myself so much the past four days at least it took just one day to get a big chunk back...

sportsnut, patience and pick your spots. we all hit our streaks
