completely thinking Portland.. Tough schedule start for Cleveland. Portland off a horrible home loss and are normally a fantastic home team. Don't think they should be underdogged to a cleveland team that hasnt done anything yet

understood.. don't like this portland team,, no bench,

You must be mistaken sir, the Portland bench is what got them back in that game against Golden State. I expect a much better game from Portland tomorrow night in a bounce back situation where they came out flat and got run off their own floor by the Warriors (who are probably playing some of the best basketball in the NBA right now). Portland starting 5 can compete with any in the NBA and it is true that their bench is their weak link, but they do have multiple pieces that can play different roles off the bench. Maybe McCollum will finally hit a jumper, I mean who knows what could happen. I just know that Portland probably gets that W tomorrow and if I see 4 I'll buy up to 4.5 if I can get -112 and sit with that bet happily throughout the game.

Great match in Portland, but don't know if for betting. I think that PK is the correct line here. Portland can easily be a giant killer, especially since Cleveland still needs to gel. On the other hand, Cleveland shown partially what they can play like against Chicago and Chicago much better on defense than Portland.
I do like Over here. I think that Cleveland will easily break 100 points mark against any team that isn't a top defender and Portland shouldn't be too far behind.

I don't think the Cavs are worthy of road chalk vs Portland. I don't think it's guaranteed that they get over 100, only put up 90 vs NY and 98 in regulation vs Chicago... the offense sputtered at times so I hesitate to play anything over related. Would think Cavs win correlates to the over though, 8 of the Blazers 10 home losses went over 200 pts. Lillard has a strained abdomen, has yet to have a solid game but this is one I'm sure he'll be up for. Blazers rested off a loss, chances are the Cavs take the next two road games after this. Lean Blazers

The total in Toronto goes up, I don't know why. Looks like a clear Under game to me...

we can agree to disagree on their bench..
the loss of mo williams takes all their bench scoring away....
they need McCollum, barton and or wright to step up and score , i dont see that happening..
Adding Kamen was good, but he will end up being hurt..

Please note the Bulls play at Milwaukee the next day. Milwaukee has won 3 of their last 4 games at Bulls and Bulls at home on Tuesday are 2-8 last 10 ATS I do see 1 feature I do not like. Orlando plays at Philadelphia the next day where they have a chance to win. Think you take your chances.

Yeah losing Mo Williams was big, no doubt there.

I just think the Portland bench are the type of players that can still make plays, its just likely not going to happen in the half court. I'll be on the Blazers +2.5 today...West > East and getting points at home because LeBron is on the team does not make any sense to me.

Few thoughts on tonight's games:

Indiana - Milwaukee

Bucks are my sleeper team in the East. I really think they can be much better than most predict and the lines they get are simply wrong.
They are deep, talented and Kidd did good job with the Nets last season.
Pacers so far too mediocre to say the least. They are trying, but even when they try... the feeling (mine that is) is that this is not Pacers basketball.
Bucks or nothing for me here.

Miami - Houston

I honestly don't know what to expect. Bosh - Dwight battles, when they were in Toronto and Orlando became a statistics boosters for both, I swear they had a pact of some kind, not to defend against each other.
Morey wants Rockets to win this one badly I presume.
Bosh choosing Heat over Rockets ruined the whole summer's plan for Rockets and they ended up losing Lin, Parsons and draft pick for nothing.
Passing on the game though.

NYK - Washington

Feeling that this is 50 - 50 game, so the line is right. Last year Wizards swept the Knicks, but by winning by a point both games in MSG (90 - 89 and 102 - 101).
Really don't know what to expect here. Knicks are far from impressing, but the same can be said about the Wizards.
Nothing surprises me here - skip for sure.

Toronto - Oklahoma

Thunder need to hang around at least 35% success rate, when Durant and Westbrook return, but Toronto doesn't care about that.
All in all, the total seems too high here. Toronto tries to play better defense. Thunder were second best team on defense last season, when they lost Westbrook and they realize that they can't compete on offense against good teams.
Oklahoma will try to keep Raptors below 95 points - and if they do that - they can win this one.
Under and Thunder are two leans, but skipping this one completely.

Will add thoughts on the other games

Chicago - Orlando

Orlando 0 - 3 SU and ATS, Chicago 2 - 1 SU, but 1 - 2 ATS.
Chicago played good basketball overall and could have been easily 3 - 0.
Orlando has not that bad roster, with some depth and talent, but their mind set is on developing youth and not winning games.
Payton gave amazing game with 9 assists and only one turnover in a game against Toronto, but watching them play, I just didn't have the feeling that you have someone running this team.
Question marks around Rose, Gibson and Noah (and the fact that they play tomorrow again), makes this a skip.

New Orleans - Charlotte

I like both teams a lot. I like the gamble Charlotte took on Lance. Charlotte realize that Durant or LeBron or even Melo won't come there, so they take projects with known problems and hope to succeed. It worked amazingly well with Jefferson and Charlotte, managed to hide his defense in team's defense and became one of the best defensive teams last year.
This year, backcourt struggles and no McRoberts to space the floor and feed Big Al, cost them a lot. Three games - a win by 2 points after OT at home, against Bucks, loss by 2 points at home against Memphis and a loss by 3 points on the road against Knicks. You really don't feel comfortable laying points in their games, no matter in who's favor.
NO melted down against Memphis. 16.7% from three point line, Asik missed easy dunks, Evans missed a lay up that proved costly, at least for spread bettors (instead of 4 points game, it became 9 points game).
The team played horrible and bottom line, after three games, they won Orlando, but lost in Memphis and at home against Dallas.
Both teams really don't want to fall to 1 - 3 and I'm willing to give Pelicans last chance here, to prove they are a good team that can compete for playoffs.
The problem is that laying 3.5 points...
Like NO, but not sure that willing to take them with this line.

Portland - Cleveland

Obviously best game of the night and most interesting. Line is more or less where it should be and while my line here is PK, it's not nearly enough to take Portland here.
I do wonder who can stop Lillard and LA to go off here.
I see both teams going over 100 points here.
Took Over 202 points earlier, now it's 203.5 and climbing...

LA Lakers - Phoenix

Maybe I'm a homer, but I do like Lakers here. Suns have Memphis at home tomorrow and Memphis (with Dallas) are the ones that kicked Suns out of playoff position.
As for the Lakers, looking at their schedule, if they lose tonight and against Charlotte, they will need to wait maybe as long as a month from the start of the season, to get the first win (when they return home to face Denver, Memphis, Minny and Toronto).
Lakers have pride and also, they got Kobe, who is in great form and while everyone is talking about how selfish he is and how terrible Lakers defense is, people ignore that he is just working his ass off.
On top of that, we get 6.5 points line.
Suns are not a good rival for the Lakers. They young, fast and don't like the Lakers (but then again, most teams don't like the Lakers).
Still, like Lakers here...

My initial leans so far

Washington ML @ New York
Knicks right now are getting amazing shooting from the midrange and that's why them "seem" better than I think they truly are. They are shooting .493% from 16-24 foot where they are shooting roughly one out of three shots from. While some of that is open shots for decent shooters, it's something that's not sustainable and a big reason that they are 2-1 (they were close to 55% against Cleveland/Charlotte in two close wins).

Houston @ Miami O 201
I know that history here is little different post LeBron, but the Rockets and Heat have scored 100+ the four times these teams have played since the Harden trade. Not sure why the Under is so low here (thought it would be closer to 207 or so) but I think the Rockets keep the offense up and both teams have scored 100+ each game this year and I don't see that trend stopping here. Harden v Wade is going to be a lot of points for both sides and the Heat do not have the bodies to throw at Howard but the Heat spread the floor with a LOT of shooters.

Oklahoma City @ Toronto -3 2Q
This seems like a strange play (a quarter bet that isn't the first) but I love this play here. The Thunder bench currently is being headed by a bunch of non scorers (Telfair, Thomas, Collison, and Perkins) where as Toronto has a legit 10 deep rotation and gets decent scoring off the bench from Vasquez, Williams, and Patterson. All three guys I just listed are still scoring decent (Vasquez/Williams are both at 16-17 points per 36) and these guys are shooting sub .400. With a little regression, these guys are a dangerous unit.

Covers Pacer poster picked over again and looking at it I agree. Pacers have beat Milwaukee 6 in a row. Milwaukee wants a win and this season on the road has given up 108 twice. Team is 41-31 over as a dog. Pacers for numerous injury related problems have gone 3-0 over this season and will be trying for win facing a rather poor defensive team. 192 total

I was going to post this in my own thread but i figure you guys would have lots to say against it..
I will start this rumor now...
Celts trade 1 or a combination of Jeff Green, Avery bradley, Evan turner for MCcullough, a future 1st rd or maybe a 3rd team to get another player and get the contracts to match....

Regarding Laker game. The look ahead is real. 2 of the refs last year favored home dogs fairly well and very well. It would not amaze me for the Lakers to cover. That said Phoenix: 23-11 ATS after 1 or more consecutive losses LA Lakers: 30-51 ATS in home games after allowing 100 points or more 3 straight games Killer Sports has a fairly bleak trend up for the Lakers. Suns simply can not lose consecutive games to a team that is routinely giving games away to their rivals.

I'm wondering if with Howard having his swollen knee drained yesterday and now a back to back after playing 36 minutes I'm wondering if that will have any effect on him.

I played the rested team Miami -1.5 with Bosh playing the way he use to play a Double Double Avg I know it's only 3 games but seeing a lot of good things by the Heat. If there is one flaw in the team again it's only 3 games they need to get to the FT line more.

Heat game 1st half over...and would be surprised.. Wade probably doesn't play in Charlotte tomorrow

Having watched a bit of the Celtics game last night, I'm not sure even OKC would pick up Turner, which is disappointing because I thought for sure he was going to be a stud when he came out of OSU. Guess that's why I'm not a scout...

Nobody looks ahead to Milwaukee, that's probably why they've had some success vs the Bulls. Chicago with bigger fish to fry.

With a little regression, these guys are a dangerous unit.

Nice lil angle on that 2nd qtr bet.

i guess i will be the only win on the Cavs ml tonight as everyone else here seems to like the tblazers.

Back to reality for the overachieving Heat. Books made a huge mistake with this line.
