I like Lakers tomorrow against Boston that tonight plays in Denver. Hope Denver give them a really good run.
Over is a good option here. Both teams had some rest...
Denver lost in triple OT to Boston and watched the All Star weekend from TV screens, instead of having someone play there.
Should set up for possible play on Denver, but the line is huge!

Also like the Spurs, but again, the line...
Should be really easy double digits win on paper.

Huge game for Utah, that gets a chance to get closer to GSW with a home win. Hayward should be back.

The Tuesday after ASG is always a watch for me...who knows what these guys did with their 4-5 days off(non-participants) not to mention the ones who were in Houston...

After four road games in five nights and injury/infection afflicting two of their top wing players, the Denver Nuggets were in need of a break.
Four days off certainly helped.

The Nuggets returned to Pepsi Center for an evening practice Monday as they prepared to start their post-All-Star break schedule at home Tuesday against the Boston Celtics (7 p.m., Altitude, NBA TV).

“I think the break always comes at a good time for anybody that’s been in the league a while,” Denver coach George Karl said. “Even though it’s only three or four days, it’s amazing how refreshed you feel and how much more energized you are.”

Denver (33-21) played the final two games of its road trip without starting forward Danilo Gallinari and starting guard/forward Andre Iguodala. Gallinari was out with a sinus infection, while Iguodala was sidelined with a neck strain.

Both players practiced Monday and are expected to play Tuesday against the Celtics. Iguodala left in the third quarter of Denver’s triple-overtime at Boston on Feb. 10 and missed the remainder of the trip.

“I’m feeling pretty good,” Gallinari said. “It was a good practice and we’re going to be focused on the (Boston) game. We played against them 10 days ago and we had a chance to win the game. We have to make sure we’re ready to play.”

Iguodala said he experienced stiffness in his neck upon waking up from his pregame nap in Boston. It got worse early in the game and ultimately kept him on the bench as the Nuggets lost a heartbreaker at TD Garden.

The defeat snapped Denver’s season-best nine-game winning streak. The Nuggets then lost by a point in Toronto two nights later and ran out of gas against the Brooklyn Nets in the pre-break finale.

“I’m just looking forward to getting back on track,” Iguodala said. “I don’t worry about wins and losses. I just feel like we need to play good solid basketball. If we continue to improve, everything will take care of itself.”

While his ailing teammates recuperated, Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried was busy during All-Star weekend in Houston.

Faried was named MVP of the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge after scoring 40 points and grabbing 10 rebounds on Friday night. He then competed in the Sprite Slam Dunk competition on Saturday but narrowly missed advancing to the final round.

“I’m glad Kenneth got the spotlight,” Karl said. “I think it’s good for him. I’m happy for him. I kind of had a feeling he would play well in the game because he would play harder than everybody else and he would be rewarded because of it.”

Faried said he had never scored 30 points at any level, let alone 40. The performance gave him a confidence boost heading into the final two months of the regular season.

“It was just a fun weekend overall,” he said. “It wasn’t any intention to try and win the MVP or anything like that. I wanted to win the dunk contest but I just fell short on that. I had fun and enjoyed myself.”

In addition to meeting iconic big men Charles Barkley, Karl Malone and Shaquille O’Neal, Faried helped build a playground as part of an NBA Cares event and served as an honorary coach for the Special Olympics Unified Sports Basketball Game.

“It was nice coaching,” he said. “It was fun to watch them really enjoy the game. I saw the passion in their eyes. They really do love the game and they had fun doing it.”

Faried said he sees similar characteristics in his teammates as the Nuggets prepare to battle for home-court advantage in the Western Conference. They are 1.5 games behind No. 4 Memphis and five games behind the third-seeded Los Angeles Clippers.

“I look at these guys and look at their eyes and their heart and see they’re passionate about what we want to do as a team and organization,” Faried said. “We have to focus right now on grinding the rest of the season out.”

All I can tell you guys that Harden was at strip clubs all weekend, with which other players, I dont know. Local radio stations were all over it this morning today, how he was at Treasures and Gentlemans club, making it rain, and spending all kinds of money.

Tuesday

ATS: 127-88-7 (+46.7)
OU: 69-59-2 (+2.8)
ML dogs: 5-8 (+3.6)

The all star festivities are over (thank god), and now teams can move on to serious business. What happens to teams immediately after the all-star break? Excluding the lock-out season, since 2004, teams playing as the favorite coming out of the all-star break are 62-18 SU and 49-31 ATS. Home favorites since this time are 38-22 ATS. In the 2010 season (which is the last full season of games), favorites were 10-0 SU and 9-1 ATS coming out of the all-star break. Most players are rested and prepared...well at least the ones that were not raging all weekend (Joakim Noah claims he didn’t sleep for four days).

Nuggets

Since the 2010 season, the Nuggets are 6-2 SU (+10.9 ppg) and ATS when seeking home revenge for a road loss that happened within the last two weeks. While there is not much credence right now for teams coming off of road trips, because of the time they have had to acclimate, under George Karl the Nuggets are 15-2 SU (+12.2 ppg) and 12-5 ATS when they are playing as a home favorite after a 4+ game road trip. Since the 2009 season, they are 10-0 SU (+15.2 ppg) and 8-2 ATS - they are also 0-10 O/U.

The Celtics have had a nice run recently without Rondo, but now they will face a tough western conference road trip. This season, the Celtics are 0-5 SU (-19.2 ppg) and ATS on the road vs. western conference opponents. Since last season, they are 3-11 SU and ATS vs. the *better* conference.

Honestly, I just think that the Nuggets are the way better team here. The all-star break may have served as a sort of cooler for the Celtics, and tonight I think they start a tough run. They have the Lakers on deck tomorrow in L.A., while the Nuggets have just one home game and then two days of rest.

Hornets

Since the 2004 season, teams playing at home after a double digit win are 39-17 SU (+3.9 ppg) and 39-15-2 ATS when playing at home with a line between 3.5 and -3.5 when their opponent is coming off of two games where they scored 90 or less points. If you add in that the Hornets are a dog in this situation, teams are 10-4 SU (+5.7 ppg) and 12-2 ATS.

I actually think that these teams match up pretty well, and that the game could go either way. The Hornets have shown that they can beat the Bulls, as they did earlier this year, when they held them to just 82 points. Home court and a better rested team could make the difference in this matchup tonight.

Bucks

Larry Sanders is back, and I think he makes a huge difference inside for this team. Williams is back for the Nets as well, but they were playing good without him, so this might actually affect them in a negative way tonight. Mainly, I am playing this game for one reason - ownage. The Bucks are 13-0 SU and ATS vs. the Nets in their last thirteen meetings. Until the Nets prove they can beat them, it looks like a decent bet to me...

Not using a lot of trends today, because I don’t think they apply very well after a long break. And well, the one trend I did find, I didn't actually apply it very well in my picks. Oh well, let's see how this goes!

Nuggets -8
Bucks +4.5
Bucks ML +165
Hornets +2

Good luck...

Nuggets, Jazz and Spurs - TT Over or line should be just fine. Worst case 2 out of 3...

It's been more profitable to fade 'movement' this season than follow it. Reverse or otherwise...

the celtics have signed terrance williams to a 10-day contract.... he was playing over in china and was not with the team as of yesterdays practice.... if he is somehow with the team today advantage Denver

Denver feeds on jump shooting teams. Celtics were basically out West without Rondo earlier in the year and didn't fare too well. Getting destroyed by teams like GS and Sacremento. Denver is better than both of them. Celtics/Bulls play similar style basketball and Denver steam rolled the Bulls a few weeks ago.

locked in on the nuggets -8.5

upcoming circled plays for the nuggets and jazz, the ones with a * are gonna most likely be big plays

Nuggets:

Feb. 25th vs LAL
March 4th vs Atlanta*
7th vs Clippers
21st vs Philly

Jazz:

Feb 25th vs Boston*
March 11th vs Detroit*
March 16th vs Memphis
March 18 vs NYK*
March 25 vs Philly*

Love backing the nugs at home as much as the next guy but need a legitimate spot to do so, don't see it here tonight. Both of these teams are flaky, don't see how either side is better than a pure coin flip in terms of coming back focused and sharp execution-wise off the break.

the nuggets suck vs the nba atlantic though, dont have the ats numbers handy

i just think the nuggets are a lot better talent wise than boston, and the triple OT loss is still in their mind as well as a good energetic practice plus boston does have the lakeshow tomorrow so they may save some energy in the high altitude late in the game

And give up what? They have no assets at all.

Brook and Dwight would get destroyed in today's NBA. Half the skill that Bynum/Gasol had and that wasn't working anymore.

But no, they can't land both without possibly dealing Deron.

And give up what? They have no assets at all.

the nets have a ton of european talent in addition to brooks, humphries, taylor

i really hope they dont get him

i really hope they dont get him

what will the nets offer to match the money? Wallace? Joe Johnson? The fat injured point guard who hasn't been 80% healthy since 2011 that is in year 1 of a max deal?

My problems with Dwight are quite simple...

1) He hates to have anyone not like him.

2) He wants to have fun out on the court otherwise he doesnt give it his all

3) His childish antics both on and off the court

also thinking to take the blazers 3rd quarter -1.5 but i hate taking quarter wagers... might just wait to see if i can get a good 2h opportunity

Hope everyone had a good break and are ready to dig back into the thick of things. With the NBA, I like to take a few days off here and there. Just too many games and my thinking gets convoluted. Been a good season so far and am hoping I can finish strong. Locked in the following earlier today:

Utah -3 @-115
Portland -6 @-115
Over San An 208 @ -105

3 units each. GL on yer plays!
