Trade deadline....

Padres acquired RHP Mike Clevinger, OF Greg Allen, and a player to be named later from the Indians for SS Gabriel Arias, RHP Cal Quantrill, OF Josh Naylor, C Austin Hedges, LHP Joey Cantillo, and INF Owen Miller.
The Padres are all about that big cake. Clevinger is certainly capable of helping them get there. The 29-year-old holds a 2.97 ERA with 10.2 K/9 and 3.3 BB/9 over 470 1/3 innings dating back to the start of the 2017 season. He adds some more legitimacy to a rotation on the rise in San Diego. While the Padres gave up quite a bit of volume in this deal, the most impressive part is that they managed to acquire a frontline pitcher with multiple years of team control without giving up any of their top prospects like MacKenzie Gore, Luis Patiño, Luis Campusano, and CJ Abrams. They are locked and loaded for a long time.
