Toronto @ Baltimore

Stew Baker

Pretty much a regular
Baltimore has lost 10 straight to Toronto, and 8 straight overall, which is no surprise since they have the worst record in baseball. But this may be the right spot to break the schneid. They send David Hess to the mound to face Sam Gaviglio here.

Hess has been progressing nicely since his recent recall from Norfolk.
Baltimore and Toronto played a series against each other in Toronto last week, with both hurlers turning in strong efforts, although in different games. Hess gave up 1 run on 3 hits in 7 innings, and Gaviglio 2 runs on 6 hits in 7. The thing is, Gaviglio has been brutal on the road; 1-5, 8.36 ERA with 10 homers in 37.2 innings.

Whatever pitching edge the O's may have would be in the starter's role, not the bullpen, so opting for the F5 here.

Balt. F5 + ?
(looking for +120ish)
