Buffalo has three starters listed as questionable tonite. Their depth is suspect. On power ratings, buffalo should cover but if those three don't play, they may play below their power rating.

Bentley looked pretty good at QB in the UMass game but that was just UMass so take it with a grain of salt. Willie B will be rocking for the night game but I will probably sit it out to see how Bentley plays against a real SEC defense.

Fun fact Cocks are one of a few teams to hold every opponent to under 30 points so far this season. So safe to say the defense is definitely better, but we were water trash last season on D so couldn't have got any worse. Covered 14 against our big SEC opponents @miss St, A&M, and Georgia. BUT Tennesee coming off two SEC losses and a bye.

I will come in with some detailed thoughts on duke gt later. I like duke and under. I am on record from last year about how duke coaching staff has an effective gameplan for defending the option.

I cannot comment on fsu Clemson just yet but will try to get it capped tonight

Timh - Like the torpedo method duke uses to stop the option. Doesn't seem like the option attacks have figured out how to defeat that form of defense yet. With that said, the total seems to have accounted for it enough that I won't be involved and given the weather in the last option game, not sure I can give this years event the same credit I gave last years event and the torpedo this year is a lesser player. So laid of the under but went ahead with duke and the pts. After capping clemson/fsu, I think it is lined and totaled correctly for the most part.

p2w - sorry for no response. hope you laid off. i blame gurv. i wish i had sex as often as i lose on pitt unders. Was texting with D$ last night and he made a great point concerning how Narduzzi is used to having nfl defensive backs ... this strategy of putting his crappy defensive backs on an island while he crowds the line of scrimmage just isn't gonna work for his current personnel.

I am for some subconscious reason surprised to see you not on Wyoming. I don't know if I've ever told you this but I've considered you the foremost Wyoming football expert I've had in my life over most of past decade! Need to get you a tee shirt indicating such. If you're busy don't worry about it but curious to know if you had any feel for that one? My spidey sense is on full alert telling me to take the Cowboys but I only know of them through their stats not with my eyes. GL this week - I didn't see anything of VT/Pitt after 1q after which I was patting myself on back for making such a great bet then saw the final...
 
no opinion on wyoming side.

basically pitt defensive backs either let the vt player get open or committed pass interference. thought there were maybe 7 or 8 pass interference calls the refs missed on pitt players too (coming from a guy who hates pass interference and loves defense). He basically ensured the total would go over with his stupidity. He never made VT earn anything .. he just gave it away. Worse, after it became painfully obvious that his strategy was a complete disaster against this opponent, he failed to make a single adjustment. the game deserved to go over based on how it was coached. Had you gotten a normal coaching effort, I think you would have cashed.

Great .. Navy goes nickel and has everyone off the line of scrimmage and they still give up the td run. almost impossible to do.

Yes. Without rule changes, I think i back out of watching it next year. I am committed to a few things this year so I will keep watching but pretty sure the last few weeks the product is telling me that it is time to move on to something with more entertainment value ... like watching grass grow.

Probably. The interception was the killer for the total. Most coaches punt there with the three timeouts. I don't have a problem with his decision to go for it though. So it goes. Gonna be a tough weekend I have a feeling.

Michigan exposed today in a major way. The BIG just isn't a very good conference. They will probably make the playoffs where anything can happen but how average did that club look in a game that meant a lot to them? Very, is the answer.

Quick look at the losers.

Akron buffalo under - Grade C plus ... just 37 first downs and 824 yards so that looks great for this number and the two teams had to score four tds in the fourth qtr in order to do it .. and three were by the leading underdog. have to chuckle. probably a harsh grade. Akron defense was just too ugly.

vt pitt under Grade F - Over 1000 yards, idiotic coaching and a poor play. Not sure why Pitt insists on forcing opponents to attack their weakness. Makes. Zero. Sense.

USF game - Basically cost me a good week with this game. USF rush defense just got worse as the game went along, Navy lack of speed and ability to tackle in space allowed big plays early. The big plays early meant navy played faster than they normally would. several onside kicks in the game. Never had a shot on any of the plays. Perhaps my worst halftime bet in a few years. Maybe not .. has to be close though.

michigan/ mich st under Grade C - Just thought Michigan was better than they are. That is the mistake for this one. Just over 800 yards in the game and I suppose a bunch came on the last drive. Michigan fails on third and one to ice the game. MSU goes on a 4 play 76 yard drive in under 40 seconds ... leaving a second on the clock which allows them to go for the conversion .. which they go for two pts for some reason ... which they fumble .. which michigan picks up and runs back for two pts. Had this in a contest at 54 in addition to the 55 and this really stung. Not sure I deserved to win it anyway but the way it went down was almost surreal. Should know to avoid that crappy state.

kent st cmich under - grade A- 679 yards and still cannot cash an under. Big play was offsides on a blocked fg at the end of the first half. Cmich on the second chance scored a td and two pt conversion and instead of 10-2 halftime it was 10-10. My method of handicapping largely revolves around yards gained. This went under my projection so just have to take the loss and move on but it was a good play

wash utah under Bplus- again 761 yards and somehow lose a mid fifties total. so many huge events that it is hard to quantify which was the nail in the coffin .. i will go with the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after Washington had the goal line stand which gave utah first and goal which they converted. The kick return td was funny but by that point you are looking at exactly 3-0 over the last five minutes or it is overtime anyway ... .with my ticket i mean. just shake my head at how efficient all these teams are when I get the pace i want. Washington defense not quite as effective in the trenches vs the utah oline as I expected. Would play it again obviously

rice latech under - grade D sigh. over 1000 yards, over 700 of which was latech yards. Rice is awful. Heard they might have been sick. Rice with the late score to send it over. I don't know how to grade it so went with D. I didn't see a play and good luck with the box score and play by play. Stupid game.

vols grade F Minus - This is one of the worst plays of the year. Laid two tds with a team that couldn't muster 300 yards. simply put, while the stats say the game was basically even, south carolina was the better team.

hawaii -3 - Got everything I wanted out of this game but the score. Stuffed the unm run game pretty good but gave up a 72 yard run on the last play of the third qtr and a fumble return td middle of the fourth and were the victims of a goal line stand late fourth qtr. They were the better team but didn't get the result... they did benefit from a fake fg td at the end of the first half.

skipped one or two .. put as little effort as possible into grading .. michigan can go fuck themselves.
