Phoenix’s Jalen Green: Over 2.5 Three-Pointers (-125) at Bovada

Phoenix Suns vs. Indiana Pacers, 7 p.m. ET

Before Tuesday, Indiana’s defense had allowed 128 or more points in eight consecutive games. The Pacers didn’t figure anything out on Tuesday. Instead, they benefited from playing Sacramento, which has the second–worst scoring offense. Now they face an offensively more potent Phoenix team whose strong form extends beyond its latest game in which it scored 129 points in Milwaukee.

Plenty of Suns players will thrive offensively tonight. My favorite one is Jalen Green. Green is a high-volume shooter, having attempted at least eight three-pointers in every game in March and ten three-pointers in each of his last two games. Aided by his volume and burgeoning efficiency, he has made more than two threes in each of his last three games. His outlook behind the arc tonight is all the stronger with fellow high-volume three-point shooter Grayson Allen listed as ‘questionable’ tonight.

Boston’s Nic Claxton Over 11.5 Points (-110) at Bovada

Brooklyn Nets vs. Atlanta Hawks, 7:30 p.m. ET

While it’s generally valuable to consider how a player has most recently been performing, one has to consider matchup details. Nic Claxton relies primarily on scoring near the basket, so it’s to be expected that he’ll struggle to score against a defense like Detroit’s. Whereas the Pistons are one of the best teams at limiting opposing scoring near the basket, Atlanta is one of the worst.

On Monday, Claxton scored nine points against a Memphis interior defense that is not as bad as Atlanta’s. Tonight, with the matchup being softer and multiple key teammates of his being ruled out, it is extremely reasonable to expect Claxton to score at least three more points.

Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: Over 1.5 Three-Pointers (+105) at Bovada

Boston Celtics vs. Oklahoma City Thunder, 9:30 p.m. ET

The Shai Gilgeous-Alexander three-pointers made over/under fails to account for the situation and for matchup details. Regarding the former, he converted three of his seven three-point attempts against Denver in his last game. History shows that he will feel confident in his three-point shooting tonight. For example, after he made three of his five three-point attempts on January 2, he attempted five three-pointers in his following game. He reliably attempts three-pointers at a high volume in games that follow one in which he thrived from deep.

With the three-point shooting volume there, one has to expect at least two made threes from him against Boston’s perimeter defense. The Celtics allow the fifth-most three-pointers per game. They struggle, for example, to limit opposing wide-open three-point attempts. With other guards like Luguentz Dort and Cason Wallace struggling from behind the arc, Gilgeous-Alexander will provide the three-point shooting that his team will need tonight.
