And we're off to a nice start with 2 Ws in 2 first bets of the year, let's hope to keep the streak alive after tonight.
Here it is:
Florida - New Jersey
The Devils are still waiting for their Arena to be finished and they're still on the road. So far one win and two defeats, nothing to be worried about, since the two losses came against the likes of Tampa Bay and Ottawa.
The win came against their tonight's opponents, when they manhandled the Panthers in a 4-1 win.
Of course, that game doesn't automatically mean they win tonight as well, but having watched these Panthers I really don't see a positive factor in their game so far, nor do I see them improving tonight, against Devils' trademark defense, lead by Martin Brodeur.
The Panthers outshot the Bolts last night but there were a lot of forced shots, they're still trying to find their game and I think an experienced NJ team takes advantage of it tonight.
New Jersey ML (2.06) 6 units
Buffalo - Atlanta
The Thrashers are one of my favorite teams but I have to fade them tonight, and as it seems right now, I'll be doing that often this season. They lack team chemistry, their center position is thin, Marian Hossa is out with an injury, their defense isn't clicking...you name it. A team of many woes right now.
The Sabres, on the other hand, still haven't found their game either, after winning the President's trophy last year (winning most points (113) scoring most goals in regular season), they were one of the biggest candidates for the Stanley Cup but failed once again.
New season - new chance. But let's put aside any Cup talks right now as it's way too early right now. However, the Sabres should bounce back from a slow start, after dropping their first three games of the season...
They're still way better than these Thrashers if you ask me, and playing at home in front of their fans...I think we'll see a convincing home win here.
Sabres (-1,5) (2.45 @ Pinnacle) 5 units
A rather small card today, I'm not touching anything else, already leaning some plays for tomorrow.
Good luck.
