Thursday Hoops with Handy

handy

Pretty much a regular
Hi there,

Well after a nice Jazz win over Detroit it's back to the grind for TNT NBA Thursday.

This is certainly going to be a very tough night to stomach the underdogs. There is no doubt the Pacers will be dogged at Miami potentially playing with a short roster. However, the Heat might be laying way too many points in this game if you're into taking a chance with a dog which is unlikely to win the game outright. I believe Dallas is going to smack the Lakers so I'm simply staying away from the NBA card tonight.

However, the Pistons are likely to be a "Wounded Bear" Friday night at Minnesota. All we need is the Timberwolves to be favored in that game and that will qualify the Pistons to be the Wounded Bear.

Good luck and as always life is dandy when you're winning and partying with Handy!!

I've yet to even look at the lines, only line I DID see was Dallas. I think you need to take a hard look at them if Lakers pull this out SU.
GL...

I have got to lay the chalk with the Mavs, definitely will be the most points I have given all season in the NBA or NCAA, just a small play.

Big blow with Neteller, looks like you were right, things look like they are going to collapse quickly, it seems like the government is determined to shut down everything before the Super Bowl. There has got to be some politicians out there who like to gamble, I am waiting for somebody to step up and question the manner in which this bill was passed and the true intentions behind it. Whoever it is, they will have my vote for life. I have already got 3 calls this week from people that are going back into business, looks like gambling is headed back underground, at least technology has improved, I am being told I can text message my picks and dont have to call and be put on hold while he takes 10 other calls, what a joke this has become, such a step back on so many levels.

Can the great staff here at cappingthegame please come up with an emoticon of Bill Frist, Georgie Bush, or any other conservative Republican on all fours taking it up the culo, it would be greatly appreciated, now that is an emoticon I might use in every thread.

Hollywood,

Be careful what you write on these message boards. You never know who is reading what you post. I believe this ship is going down. I'm not sure if it's all going down but the landscape sure appears to be changing quickly. I think what's going to happen is it's going to become very difficult to fund your accounts and also be able to withdraw funds. I think that's their only chance to shut this market down.

Handy,

It's at the point where I pulled out pretty much everything except for a small amount that if I were to lose it, it would not be any sweat off my back. Actually, everything I won today has already been withdrawn, only going to keep a small amount tied up at BoDog, they seem to be the easiest to withdraw and deposit money at this point. The funny thing is the 3 biggest gamblers I know are all LAPD, and from what they tell me, 75% of that station has online accounts, hell I get calls from them all day asking me to go into their accounts and place wagers, its just a joke. We will see, maybe I am overreacting.

Guys,

I come from a country where you're practically an outcast if you don't enjoy a punt (Australia) so naturally enough I'm having a hard time getting my head around these new laws in the US ..

So is gambling through sportsbooks completely outlawed in America as of now ..? What sports ect does this new law cover .. I mean, what about the Kentucky Derby ffs!??

Just seems like the government is treating you all like kids .. a major deprivation of liberties ..

To be honest Run n Gun, I don't know enough to really explain it, from what I understand Horse Racing is not covered, probably because of the power that these rich thoroughbred owners and breeders possess in this country. The government just seems to be really focusing more attention than they should be on this matter. Maybe I am biased in my dislike of the government right now, maybe due to the fact that they audited me last year for 2001 and 2002 back to back, which ended up costing me a shitload of money, and now this b.s.

Let's keep discussion of the games in here and discussion of Frist or Bush taking it up the ass in General Discussion and discussion of books and the industry in the Sportsbook forum.

Thanks.

Handy,

I have to agree to BAR. It's also a revenge spot for det. As for lakers tonight, I Think they'll have a big let down. With that being said, I'm sticking by my discipline of not laying more than 4 or 5 pts on special cases. There are better games out there!

Hollywood,

If this offshore betting can't be contained, the feds might just end up freezing acounts of suspected bettors. Just a thought

Back to the topic of basketball. Lakers again getting double digits, definitely don't have the balls to lay that much chalk even though I know they are looking forward to putting a hurt on the Lakeshow tonight. Damn, what is going on here in L.A., the Lakers are turning out to be the biggest overachievers and the Clips the biggest underachievers. How in the hell did the Clips only beat G.S. last night by 6 points at home, G.S. only had pretty much 5 players plus 2 scrubs they threw in. There have got to be some internal issues with that team, injuries can only be blamed for so much, they have played with no real intensity on either end of the court all season, just out there going through the motions.

As far as the Lakers, how they keep competing at a high level with all the injuries is amazing. First Lamar, then Kwame who was playing the best ball of his career. Interesting to see what happens when Lamar comes back, I still feel that Kobe and Lamar have not learned the dynamics of playing with one another, and that they seem to play better as a team with one or the other out. But dare I say that Kobe Bryant is making a consistent effort to make his teammates better, if that is the case and he sticks to it come playoff time, I have a feeling the Lakers might cause some serious damage in the first and second rounds.

had that det game circled...

wit Billups back as i hope he was for utah, a game under his belt and coming off straight home losses, revenge angle...setting up nicely.

had hoped minny would beat atl and not be lookin ahead at det but no matter...still like the set up

gl bro

DuY's comment really got me thinking about things. Would the feds really take things this far?

Thats a bit far fetched, but It's not impossible. for all we know, they'll make that into money laundering. our family experienced that before, and trust me it's no fun!

It wouldn't be too hard for the feds to find out who has done business with Neteller, Citadel, etc. After the past week nothing surprises me anymore.

Yeah. They ran out of gas tonight. What do we call that? LAME DUCK. BRUISED PENGUIN. TIRED COW? Can't wait for the WOUNDED BEAR tomorrow night. We all know million dollar athletes who dedicate their who lives to winning thing like that. SHOULD HAVE GONE WITH THE SMASHED ANT THEORY FOR THE LAL TONIGHT. SILLY ME! :)

Yeah, the Lakers were the public dog and it's never a bad idea to bet against the public dog. Plus, the Lakers playing three games in four nights vs. a team which almost never loses.

Wtf?

Lakers ML

I gave them 17 points. How can you give them a ML? wounded bear? daft trout? resentful kangaroo?

We were both f'd tonight because the MAVS have German engineering.

I guess Devean was not joking when he said they were looking forward to sending them a message tonight.

Handy, looks like you have a second wounded bear tonight with the Cavs, what is your feeling on that game. I am a little worried that everybody and their mother seems ready to hammer the Pistons tomorrow although it definitely looks like it sets up perfect for them..

Yeah, I knew we had two wounded bears going into Friday night. However, the T-Wolves opened up as 2pt. faves and now are dogs at most places. I think the true Wounded Bear is the Cavs. By the way the Cavs have been money of late when underdog on the road and rested. I'm liking them a lot to beat Denver. The T-Wolves game is scary but Detroit should have a very good chance to win that game.
