asked my brother today. It's been cold in norcal. Litsh is a control beast and has not walked a man in like 3 games. A's thrive off of plate discipline and i think litsh will hold his own and hit the locations. I'm also not concerned about eveland's ability to keep the innocuous jays bat in check. Under for me oak town unless there are some real opposing umps.

ok, do the giants REALLY win 3 in a row in Zona? I got burnt today with DD, but im willing to bet that their hot hitting does not continue..

It is impossible to bet on francis until he gives us a quality start in a non pitcher's park..

does anyone know where to get ump info earlier then usatoday? seems like sn and rexy have their info before it's listed on those sites or mlb.com

Three day games :

With Wash playing @ SD again I like the underdog Nats . Lannan is very solid and the few times he has been bad he has been terrible. Anyway SD managed 1 run and 4 hits through 6 vs Perez today . Which dropped them to 2-12 vs LHSP this year and now 0-5 at home. Lannan has made 6 away starts to date and only once has the opponent scored more thn 3 runs. In fact Lannan himself has allowed 1 run or less in four of those outings , 2runs in 6.2 in his 1st away start and his worse 4 runs in 6 innings. Nats have split half his road starts losing 3-0 , 3-2 and 6-3.

Lannan goes on 5 days rest and that seems to be his preference. His last outing was shaky and he complained of command issues with his fastball that was on 6 days rest. SD has never seen him so that should be a plus. Will look at day splits tmrw but these seems pretty straight forward as long as the price remains about where it is .

Ledezma is medicore at best right now and has not developed like DET had envisioned years ago. His last 2 spot starts where very unspectular . he probably cant do much more then 5 innings leaving the middle innings open. Wash with Flores , Milledge , Pena and Dukes in the bottom half just have a nice edge IMO vs SD lineup. Curious at day splits but if I get plus money fading SD vs a LHP tough to turn down.....Scott umps and he is 10-2 home teams but past 2+ years 5-9 with favs -120 and cheaper which is where this should close.

Interested in ATL @ Milw but Campillo is dealing with blisters which held him to 4 innings last time out so uncertain what to expect from him. Blisters are nagging and tough to heal for a SP . I was plagued by them from 14 -15 on . Campillo as a SP 10 innings 5hits 0runs , 0BBs 10Ks. Day game makes blisters more worrisome.

McCLung throws hard but he is also being pulled out of the pen. ATL lost both games late and with converted relievers going this should be some work for 2 beleagured pens. Which makes m ethink over . Prefer the Braves 1st 5 innings I think to ML as well..Not much to go on again waitng for day splits and lineups....

Hate to say MILW is due for a loss but look at there 3 game winning streak . It probably ends here or turns into a long streak. I say that because they stole won @ Wash on Monday in extras , stole one 3-2 vs Hudson and ATL trailing 2-0 all game winning 3-2 in the 8th and 9th innings , then winning 1-0 in the b8th today . So either this fuels a momentum run or they fall back to reality and start to lose games where they produce little offense.

Just saw Fairchild is behind the dish and well 60% strikes certainly helps an over with the quality of arms that will be used. He is also 31-35 home team....(huge preference to 1st 5 inn overs)

In Oakland , Eveland has been great at home and in day starts . With 0.94 ERA at home and 2.05 ERA in day. While a LH might adjust better 8 days rest is a HUGE concern here. Especially since all but 1 start came on 5 days and while it wasnt bad it was simply avg. Litsch is on a roll going 4-1 last 5 starts and failing just once to go at least 7 innings. With an 8 day layoff after a relief appearnce inbewteen starts he shutdown the slumping Royals for a CG shutout. L5 starts 30 inn 26 hits 8er 1bb 14Ks. He also pitched well vs OAK last year. Want more info and lineups here but Tor could be attractive

Also Jays have done very little on the road vs LHSP...almost all unders like 5 or 6 occassions ...

Late night -

Well Col is terribble and while Marquis is nothing to brag about and Francis fairly solid the fact remains Cubs hit LHP well. Really want to look at this closer cause Cubs didnt deserve to win today its just that LAD cant hit which applies to COL as well.

Which might make LAD attractive although they simply dont hit RHP. However Vargas has issues with night starts looking at his recent splits .

I guess the MILLION dollar question is did they open ARI so high to attract SFG money ? Thankfully SFG has been good to me with 2 straight cashes and also 2 over cashes . So might be looking at the opposite here. Seems like they opened the total short again to attract over money??

Not sure my heart can stand another KC play. Granted there pen will be rested after the FIASCO off the season IMO at least my season! Hovechar has been tough and better at home like all young pitchers tend to be. Slowley won last time out but I expect KC to either FOLD or come out blazing here...at least KC is -120 ish...

TB faces another LHP and after today is now 8-1 under at home vs Lefties so will look at that .......

If you mean who the ump will be, just go to yahoo's boxscore and check who the 1st base ump is (right near the bottom), and he's BHP the next game within the series concerned.

If you mean stat wise, covers has this page permanently available.

Assuming Atlanta has a normal line up Atlanta. Seth has around a 5.80 career day era. Brewers have been trash at home on Thursday and they have division rival Houston coming in the next day who swept them earlier this season.

Some randoms...

Kansas City has now lost 10 in a row...Minnesota has now won 3 in a row. AND yet KC opens as the slight fave? Smells fishy...like fish taco fishy lol. But yah, prolly lay off this one but would not be surprised at all to see the Royals win here...and then promptly lose another few games in a row lol.

My ChiSox got the W as a small dog yesterday against Cleveland and now travels to Tampa Bay...and are dogs again? Rematch here of Danks against Jackson from April 20th. In that game Jackson opened as a fave of about -125ish. This time he again opens at -125ish and I see it's gone up to about -130 at some places. The White Sox hitters have pretty solid numbers against Jackson and Danks shut out the D-Rays last time out. This will be the 2nd game in a row Tampa has faced a starting LHP as they beat Gabbard yesterday.

Get the feeling Oswalt may put up a strong outing here for some reason, and damnit I've been expecting Lohse to come crashing back to Earth for a while now.

Kind of like Oakland. Toronto does not hit LHPs well at all. Eveland's been solid and although Litsch has been very good his last couple of starts, I get the feeling the A's are favored for the right reason here.

Pittsburgh is horrible right now but they have some good numbers against Harang, minus Freddy Sanchez though. Dumatrait is in for Duke and I think he actually has a decent shot here.

You know, I would not be surprised to see Atlanta pull off the W in the early game. Pretty much everywhere I've looked everyone is on Milwaukee. Yes Atlanta is bad on the road, BUT in the two games they've lost at Milwaukee they were in both of them. They blew the 2-0 lead and lost 3-2. And then yesterday lost just 1-0. So Milwaukee's offense isn't exactly lighting it up either and I thought yesterday would've been the day to do it against a LHP with a high WHIP. I watched Campillo in his 4 innings against Arizona and the guy has very solid stuff. Of course he's dealing with the blister which is always scary. It's one of those injuries where he could be cruising along and then BAM, it re-occurs. However, I gotta think it's healed pretty good because if not I would've expected Cox to sit him one start and possibly grab Jeff Bennett for the spotstart. Seth McClung doesn't have the best home numbers when looking at his splits so far this year, although as a reliever the sample is smaller than from his days as a starter. Honestly, if I could somehow get a statement that says "Campillo's blister is 100% fine and he was taken out of the Arizona game early as a precaution" I'd be on Atlanta right away. But damnit...no dice on that wish.

Brad Penny is a small dog to Claudio Vargas? Wow. Lowe was bad for a while and then pitched a great one yesterday. Can Penny follow that routine? Eh, we'll see. Shit, even if Penny pitches as good as Lowe did today...that Dodger offense is struggling. In their 3 games at Chicago they scored a total of 3 runs. Definitely not good. Torre is doing his best to keep their heads above water but they really miss Furcal. Kent was struggling anyways so eh, but Hu's numbers are even worse it seems. In my opinion the biggest problem on this offense is the same from last year..who is the big bat? Loney has some power and they hyped him up pretty good when he got called up last year, but I didn't believe in him back in 2005 when he first appeared, and I still don't have a ton of faith in him. Other than him Martin and Kemp are the next two but Kemp's inconsistencies have led him to be in the bottom 3rd of the order. Hey is Carl Everett available? LOL!

Well...I'll post my actual plays later on as lineups come out. Good luck today!

great points for the under in oakland... gl to you, trueblue

Also is the roof being opened in Milw for the 1st time today ?? Read that somewhere not sure its true , would help the over though

I heard that too SN. I like the Over with these two on the hill. McClung has issues and Campillo gets his first start on the road this season.

no brian mccan for atl...still like the over a little after yesterday's snooze of a game with two "real" pitchers. It should be pretty hot in milwaukee right now too

Good stuff gents. I rolled with ATL over should have gotten at better price at 9.5 but I'll take it . Lineup for ATL missing McCann but I'll go with perception here . Yesterday the game had at least 1 much better SP and Reyes and Campillo will call a wash but Reyes has more upside and has at least started on the road. Yet the total yesterday was 10.5. Here we get the warmer air and a guy in McClung who has inconsistencies in career as a SP and to quote CKR can be a gascan despite great velocity. Even he was suprised my his 1st start...think th epens for both can be labeled poison...

So rolled ATL 1st 5 ML and over 9.5 , with small play on ATL ML..

Only rolled with Nats ML and smaller play 1st 5 inn ML....

GL be beack later:cheers:

and they dp with bases loaded in first innings, wonderful.

Anyhow, lohse at home seems very attractive as he thrives at that park and had a good outing last time against the dodgers. Oswalt is not the same. His fast balls top out at 93-94mph this year and is not nearly as sharp. Looks like a sucker bet at even money..

Tamps under looks awesome too as SN mentioned.

Thinking seriously about the Cubs. Obviously an ugly game. Tomorrow Cook vs Lily. This could easily be Cook. The next day possibly Rusch vs Dempster. Rusch has fine history vs the Cubs and has been pitching very well in triple a. Dempster 3-3 with a 7 era vs Colorado. Francis very ugly history at Cubs and weak at night plus bad current form. Rested good pen vs a pen tired but not hopeless.Francis in 3 road starts this season 17 runs over 162/3rds innings. Covers chartshows Colorado off a loss at 2-7 to Cubs off a win 7-3 first game. Jason this season 3-2 at home and 15-5 last 20. Cubs at home last 20 16-4.

#1 & 2 hitters for milwaukee a combined 0-8 6k's. what chumps, they've been doing that all year. i had atl today so its all good for me but i had some on the over too.

i will probably be on white sox and mets. a small lean on cincy, but im not really interested in laying heavy juice on a team going for a sweep even tho it looks good. are the mets too obvious or what? public doesnt seem to be pounding as crazy as i thought. penny 1-9 in 11 starts @ shea. dodgy coming off a brutally disappointing sweep on national tv and then had to travel all the way east. mets coming off a ridiculously encouraging win over florida and should bring big time momentum into this game, as long as they didnt go out drinking all last night. reyes, wright, and beltran are all pretty fucking hot, and wright bangs penny's ass. how could it be this easy??? vargas isn't a stud, but he can definately get the job done.

Rickie Weeks loses me batting average in fantasy baseball every week almost singlehandedly.

...i'm starting to like the CHW-TB under, i just don't want to make a play til i see an umpire

Well I couldnt stalk the lines today and first thing I did was check to see where Wash closed . Once I saw where it did I said thats a LOSS. It became a matter of how will they lose this.

You want to talk fading the public . Then Wash is a perfect example of fading the public today. Anyone looking at the game in a vacuum would take Wash with Lannan and well Acta 's bonehead managerial tactics backfire . Loves using Charlie Manning for some reason. He stunk yesterday why go back to him in a tie game with 2 MOB . Just because he is LH?

Well that sucks. Wish I did play Toronto and fade Eveland off 8 days rest.....down 2 units to start the day.....

Be back I think

The tamps front end of the lineup is really heavy on the LHB.. Crawford, Iwamura, Pena, etc. I'm really worried about Jackson facing a RHB heavy WS lineup that has been hitting the ball. Any support for Edwin other then his recent decent pitching?

Sorry TB was sidetracked. I passed on the under mostly because of Jackson last couple outings being medicore combined with WSox hitting him some when they faced him. Mix in the TB bullpen factor now that Percival is shelved it takes away a good arm for the later innings and puts someone else in a mor eprominent role.....

Played: WSox , LAD and 1st 5 inn over 4.5 @ Cincy ...parlayed Reds , Royals , LAD and Zona for shits and giggles:cheers:

gotcha. Any thoughts on STL? I'm itching to pound lohse at home. Oswalt is not a pitcher that should be favored on the road this year.. Perception made the line open HOU as a favorite im thinking?

Hey SN, long time no chat bud. What do you think about the 1H over 4.5 in STL tonight? Looks like the last 4 meetings btw these 2 teams, they've scored at least 5 runs in the 1st 5 innings, and 6 out of 8 overall. Oswalt doesn't look the same this year, may be hiding something. Surprisingly Lohse is the X-factor here...he did have a great performance vs LA, but then again, that's LA, who can't hit their way out of a paper bag right now. Looks to be a nice night to swing it tonight in STL as well, temps hovering in the low 80's. Interested to hear your thoughts!!

Thinking about COL here Francis is good vs the Cubs indivually except Lee who owns him at 6-6. The rest is 8-35 and Marquis 1-4...

TB: Tough to fade Oswalt here in STL. Team he pitches well against and place he pitches well at. I like the extra rest here for him to get a breather and gather himself. Especially with the hip issue . Seems his worst starts have been after an injury and him trying to gut it out. Carlos lee and Tejada sort of punish Lohse. Typically Oswalt has struggled on extended rest but again with the injury and struggles I think a breather helps but only guessing. Cant deny Lohse is better at home though but I dont weigh that start vs LAD very heavily considering they stink vs RHSP so far.

With the line earlier Oswalt faced Wainright in STL with Cards as -110 so this line seems correct with Astros opening favored if you have faith in Oswalt not being hurt.

So looking more at Houston here as I think there lineup has hit better and both pens are headaches .

HWG: Whats up bro ! Really dont have much a feel for this total. I thought it would be 8 to be honest so it that sense I see some value in an under . Coupled with Lohse track record at home , Darling nice strike zone around 63% , and Oswalts L10 vs STL where he allowed 2 runs or less 8 times.

I guess the question is the line at 8.5 to entice under money or at 8.5 due to the perception of Oswalt. Really not sure but leaning under ...

Nothing real strong guys just my feels. Pretty soft card even for me...Good Luck:cheers:

Also in CHI Marquis has terrible splits so far in 2008 at night...7 +ERA , 2 + WHIP , 367 BAA and 5.1 innings on avg. Also Marquis just twice went 6 innings complete and the Cubs pen is a bit thin until Marmol and Wood.

Colorado is terrible though and I said that back on Monday ...still Marquis as medium sized favs....could be tough high I rate Kendrick and Eaton much better then him....His work vs COL is much better at Coors as a Cubbie...

The key is Francis vs Derrick Lee who is 6-6 3bbs ......

Just a thought:shake:

Real interesting game in KC . Forget the choke on Monday , forget the collapse yesterday that cost me 17 units but how about Jose Guillen calling his team out . Should be interesting to see how they react to being called soft and babies....

forget to hit submit before .....

Astros ML and smaller play on the under
Royals ML and 1st 5 ML and the smaler on those overs as well
Col Ml and 1st 5 and small on the game under...

Looking at 1st 5 under @ SFG....

Oswalt cant locate a pitch for a decent strike.. 2hits and 3 walks in the 1st inning so far..

A mentioned in my early post, i dont think AZ gets swept. AZ ML/Over parlay seems inline..

Think Lou was trying to punish Jason. If you want a good laugh look up the recent history of the reliever he put in for him in the 6th. Made no difference. Could have laid 2.5 instead of just ml and rl.

i hope so tuck... im from chicago so i follow the cubs extremely close and ill tell you jason marquis is a loser.

Really is there any reason not to lay -1.5 and -2.5 vs COL on the road ? My dumb ass actually made a sound arguement that was valid and played out as such except COL couldnt hold a 4-3 lead in the b7th and stranded runner after runner .....

If I stayed away from the KC and COL plays I have a great day...instead I piss away to much as usual...for a smart man I can be such an idiot....:shake:

Thought the move made sense....imma intrigued as to why you feel Lou was punishing Marquis by bringing in Cotts to face Pods. Cotts 1 walk and 15 K's in AAA vs lh & Pods with only 7 abs all year vs lhp so Hurdle switches to Taveras whos no great shake vs lh either

I think it was the 8 runs he had given up in 5 innings before his last 2/3rds of an innings this season. Honestly, I think Lou should have had the pen warming up when Jason started and taken him out after he put on the second man.
