I like the Over in Indiana. I think that Memphis should be better on offense this season, while Pacers should have much faster pace than before. This is the type of total we used to see in "old" meetings between the teams - not this year's roster and styles of play (on paper).

Memphis was GRINDING this pre-season.

No additions to that team make me think they move any faster.

But Indiana shouldn't be AS slow.

What Inspekdah said is true divol. Having bet almost every Memphis game this preseason, they played slow, slow, slow, like we're used to. And they also played shut down defense holding opponents to 37.2% shooting. Ok, true, obviously some of those minutes came against bench players and training camp invitees, but even the final preseason game where Orlando treated it as regular season game, Memphis held them to 86 points and 38.1%. Plus, both teams will be playing B2B with travel involved. Indiana's going to play faster, but not like they really added anyone, or had any pure scorers to begin with (Paul George is back, but they made a huge mistake bringing in Monta Ellis).

To be honest, never watch preseason. I know I should on paper, but after 8 months of non stop basketball watching and capping, I need 4 months to clear my head from betting at all.
Having said that, I firmly believe that Wright's advantage is in a running basketball. He is not Koufos. I also feel that Green was brought as offensive addition. He was bad, but he is on a contract year and he had all summer to get used to the new system - I expect him to do a lot better. On top of that, Gasol got needed rest this summer and Memphis should be really fresh and ready to go.
They go to their grit and grind mode much more in to the season imho.

I will be much smarter after watching both Pacers and Grizzlies tonight, but I took a small bet on the Over for now.

The Grizzlies are a completely different team tonight. You can safely bet them live IMO. They won't be losing focus tonight. Indys offense is a mess

Tyson Chandler's agent kept telling Cuban that they needed to re-sign Chandler because Diondre would not leave the Clippers. Chandler and his agent were right, and Cuban was wrong. It would have been nice for the Mavs to keep Chandler, but that's life. Shockingly good start for the Mavs last night. Wesley Matthews kept tellling people that the Mavs would have a good team, but it's easy to dismiss that coming from a member of the team. Can't take much from one game except that it was a lot better than expected, +21 versus the spread.
