This Trade Just Happened -- Boston (again) + Pels/ Wiz

I don't know... It doesn't make them a contender, but it puts a huge dent in their future.
They become the team that's too good to miss the playoffs, but can't see them getting to NBA Finals...
Memphis got one hell of a deal with KCP and all those 1st...

East is pretty wide open. Average Pacers team is in the finals. You’d think Pablo could take the next step and be a top 5-7 star soon as well. They aren’t going to become a contender with those 20th picks.

The phx pick swap will be valuable, the other picks will be mid to late firsts like you said. Plus they got rid of KCP and his bad contract (which is likely why they had to give up an extra pick)

Ya I’m sure grizz fans are thrilled to get KCP lmao

Nah not at $22m/year with the season he just had
It's only for 2 more seasons + he can bounce back. I think that KCP solid + brings a lot of good things to Memphis. Obviously the 1st picks are the main reason for this trade, but getting KCP is big for Memphis instead of just some body to fill in the salary match...

Memphis in limbo...

I wouldn't be shocked to see more moves.

I think you have to pick either JJJ or Ja and the kinda rebuild a bit.

Love Ja but man I dunno with injuries etc with him.

Huge question mark around Ja given his attitude - even more than injuries issues (that are a big problem on their own). Can't see what team will gamble on him - maybe Sixers that take one project after another (Harden, Paul George)...

No worse city than Memphis for Ja to have ended up in

I guess Denver might be up high on that list but Memphis is next to East St Louis as far as dangerous territory in America

I think people from there go to Detroit to feel safe

Most teams would gamble on Ja given he’s a 10 top player.

Wow... that is nuts... Jrue has 3 more years to monster contract and Simons is expiring contract and yet Portland had to throw in 2 second round picks?! I mean that's crazy! Why?!

I like that move for Boston Celtics.

Simmons a solid scorer.

Love Jrue, but the Celtics might continue to blow this up a bit, so why not?

I think there isn't NBA fan or player or GM that doesn't like Jrue. Both as a player and as a person - but Portland got fleeced here...

It is a huge improvement for their defense, which their defense badly needed. I mean Simons is an atrocious defender.
Yeah, no doubt + Portland has enough shooters and needed extra ball to give everyone touches... but why give 2 picks instead of insisting on getting at least one back? Celtics have a year without Tatum and few players that probably they don't want to have on their roster in 26/27 season when he is back...

Yeah I don't understand taking on that contract. At all.
Me neither. Seems Portland did Boston a big favor. Portland played well down stretch but this doesn't make them contenders in West so why do it. Holiday getting old. Huge contract. With Tatum out next year most likely I think Stevens will try to dump KP next. They'll retool around Tatum Brown for 26/27. White may go too if they can. New owners paid $6B and probably want some ROI. Hard when u have $500m payroll with tax.

Bingo!

The dismantling of Boston continues... (As predicted by yours truly).

The Tatum injury plus their cap situation totally changed their outlook.

wtf? I was sure Poole in untradable unless you throw in at least 1st round pick... So NO send two expiring contracts for Poole that has 2 more years and been awful in DC?!

CJ was done here. If they are truly building around Zion, this was the way
my biggest issue is I think Poole is loser just like Kuzma. I mean Green decking him a few years ago was inexcusable - but look who GS kept and who they got rid of. Give Washington credit - now rid of Poole and Kuzma. I'm a championship or nothing guy, and Poole takes you in the opposite direction IMO. Feel sorry for NO with Zion issues but deals like this tells me they will never win.

He’s younger, same amount of money. Coming of 20+ and 4.5 assist and set record for 3’s in Washington.

I’ll take it. Change of scenery might do well.

We just went through this with Bradley Beal. It‘s easy to look better than you are when you play for the Wiz

Jordan needs to be on a veteran team with strong leadership.

I actually think he would have fit in with GS better if a few years into his career.

Warriors in the postseason were looking for scorers to step up! They could have used Poole, who had fantastic games when he was called upon to step up for Curry.
