Pretty much a regular
Every college sports program, if they're lucky, has a guy like Tommy McVay was at Texas Tech. No one who meets them ever forgets them. A lot of times they are the only person who helps an athlete keep going when you first arrive and see what an impossible task you have in front of you. They are invaluable to the head coach, and a lifeline for players. They usually get little recognition from the public and media, but they don't care about that. They only care about their team and their school.
McVay was one of the best and Tech may never find anyone to take his place.
When these guys die they should be interred right there in the stadium like the bodies of old priests and popes in the great cathedrals.

The legacy of a TV salesman who found Wes Welker and became 'Mr. Red Raider'
