As much as I hate to say it, I think OU kills Texas in this situation. I've watched most of the games from both teams, and this Texas team is not very good.
The have nobody on the offensive line, and while the defensive line is supposed to be good, they have not been dominant at all this year. The Texas linebackers are slow and everybody on the defense will over pursue and buy the fake. Stoops will have at least one trick play that will surprise Texas.
As for Texas' offense, it's boring and predictable. Colt had a great year last year, but he's been running for his life this year. He got hit all the time last week against KSU. That was a big part of their gameplan. They were bringing 6 players, so Greg Davis decided to go 5 wide on them, but Colt couldn't get the ball out quick enough. The running game is nonexistant. Everything that Levander said about the room dividing seems to be true. The only thing that VY had to say after watching the loss last week was "They need to get together as a team."
Stoops sees this game as the biggest game of the year for Oklahoma, and plans everything around it. Mack Brown likes to say that it's just another game, and it's no bigger than playing Baylor or Colorado. All of the OU players know how much this game means, and will treat it like that. Texas has been soft all year and will get punched in the mouth.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Colt's injury and whether or not he plays. If he's out, that means John Chiles will be in. Many people are trying to say that he's a mini-Vince, but even Vince Young only managed to beat OU once. The original gameplan this season was to get Chiles some real work in the nonconference games, but since Texas couldn't blow anybody out, he didn't get in until the Rice game for a little bit, and he pretty much just ran the ball. Chiles was in the game situationally last week, but just ran the ball until they took Colt out. He's 1-6 passing this year, and most of those came in the last 2 minutes of the blowout to KSU. If he starts this week, OU will stack the line and ask for him to throw it. That's not a good position to have a true freshman who's only played 2 years of QB (he was a WR for most of high school)
