Teams 0-4 ATS

Pretty much a regular
@SportsInsights: Since 2005, NCAAF teams to lose their first 4 games ATS in a season have gone 30-16 ATS in their 5th game.

Teams 0-4 ATS

Michigan State
Central Florida
Missouri
Old Dominion
Auburn
Arizona St
San Diego St

Have 21-9-1 ATS.

Only 5 were favorites, those teams went 5-0 SU (4-1 ATS). None were a 20+ fave though. Last fave in this spot was in 2012 (Miami-Ohio, 5-point fave over Akron).

Rest were dogs.

Spartans only the 3rd team since 1980 to go 4-0 SU (0-4 ATS). They're the 1st team in the 2000's to do so.

As a principle it's rare for teams to lose ATS 5 times in a row in college or pro football whether it be the beginning or middle of the season. Each situation is a little different though.

On a related note.... Coaches all know the point spreads so you wonder if they ever link losing against the pointspread as failing to live up to expectations? Just something random I'm thinking about

How about the teams that are perfect ats so far?
im thinking of just playing the teams to lose ats and vice versa on the winless teams ats.

toledo....2-0-1
ncstate....4-0
texastech....3-0-1
nd irish.....3-0
Ohio bobcats....4-0

middle Tennessee state.....4-0

@SportsInsights: NCAAF teams who are winless ATS have gone 56-37 ATS (60.2%) in their 5th game. That improves to 38-14 ATS (73.1%) in road games.

Imo it's less likely oddsmakers adjust teams that are unexpectedly outperforming their lines than they are to notice and adjust big name schools that are 0-4 ATS. I would apply that to popular teams (those that receive a lot of action) that go 4-0 ATS because their lines are usually shaded with public perception
