For all my loyal CTG'rs who stop by to find a play on these random games....well I could not convince myself on any side or team total. This is a real real good match up all things considered so my advice is bet on who you want to win.

That said...

I have no words for the run I'm having. Cardinals choke a win, then a miracle TD to just kneel for no reason. Even if a kick got blocked it is for 1 point, it has no outcome on the game. Rams literally stopped trying to score after getting to 23 easily. They literally just went into kill clock mode and entirely quit. Melvin Gordon misses prop by half a yard, half. Because he took a loss.

Looking back at my list of reads on the week I got 80% of sides right and I'm somehow even on the week.

Talk to me about the Bears. Seems weird to be dogged so much. I was kinda thinking Vikings.

I think under too
Yes sir! Let me get some random thoughts out.
  • we are a few weeks removed from folks saying the Vikings are a bottom 5 team. What has changed? They beat the Packers in a spot when it was clear the Packers might get lit up (I bet Vikings) that week. Cook anytime TD too, he had a tasty matchup. Then they come out and beat the shitty Lions. Suddenly this is a good Vikings team that should be favored over the Bears who have a top 5 defense?
  • Now I will say the Vikings were better than folks gave them credit for and we are seeing that the last few weeks. I'm also not a fool to think this Bears offense is going to do shit. The play is on the Bears defense in what is a divisional rival and the classic "must win" which just means to me there is no chance of a let down. I don't believe in must win scenarios, it just means they will be focused which 9/10x teams are anyway
  • Minnesota on offense is a running juggernaut but their strength of schedule against defense is bottom 5, to say they've had it easy. Historically, go look at Cook's numbers versus the Bears. They lock him down. He definitely could blow up because he is good but the Bears are a legit top 5 defensive team.
  • Do you want to question how good this Bears defense is? Well their offense is a fucking joke yet they are in every game, somehow. Hell they actually should have won the Saints game a few weeks ago
  • The Bears offense is putrid but their strength of schedule is top 5 against defenses to say they've had a tough-ish go. So, can the Bears find enough success versus a mediocre defense...I think so. Can Foles string together 3 drives this game and put up 17...probably.
  • Will the Bears defense limit the Vikings and rattle Cousins...I think so

I didn't get into super weedy details here but I also know my team well. This is just one of those classic "oh the Bears somehow won" type of game. Just like when I know when to buy against the Bears, it is somewhat clear. This is one where they are getting points, will be focused, are pissed, and the last thing I'd want is to go against a pissed Bears defense right now. Mack thrives in primetime too.
