Let me just sum up Week 7.

I love college football. To death. Best thing ever.

I hate betting college football this year.

Enough said.

Stayed up to watch the ASU game b/c I couldn't sleep, so had some time to do my initial look over the card last night.

Here are the sides I will be focused against depending on the lines of course..

NW/EMU Over (hope to get a totals line in the Minny/NW range)
TxTech/Mizzou Over (will probably be too high though as I am hoping <70)
OU (they need to hand out a beating to someone, ISU in wrong place)
Texas (the beatings continue, sorry Baylor)
Miami Ohio (hopefully will see value since Temple got the W yesterday)
Cincy (should see decent value here, Cincy should roll Pitt)
Troy (again, hope I get some value with NT's win yesterday, Troy rolls)
ULM (same story, hoping for value with ULM's loss)
Ohio State (I shoulda jumped on this train weeks ago, any value left?)
Ball State (nice run matchup vs WMU, who seems to do better on road)

Scratch Fresno from my list, as I don't like playing on teams that are 100 or worse in TO margin (Fresno #106), and I did this list before I started looking at my updated stats.

Add Ball State to the list.

Be careful w/ the tOSU/MSU, Tressel/Dantonio angle..

D'Antonio is Tress's best friend in the entire world and coached w/ him for 18 years at YSU and for tOSU until 04.

Thanks Jump, completely aware of that angle and it is a great point. Honestly don't think there will be much value in this line anyway, but with the way OSU is playing it at least deserves mention on my rough draft list as they are clicking on all cylinders right now. Just going through the games one by one right now, so I expect early leans to change by this afternoon as I am just starting my analysis on each matchup. Appreciate the early morning response!

have to go Wally World and Robert Evans w/ the wife and daughter, but will be back 1ish w/ my power ratings/line discussion..

Great games this week.

Has tOSU played a physical run team yet? I'll be interested to see how they hold up there. Maybe MSU can be the second team this season to hit double digits against the Buckeyes.

Games/lines on my radar:

Rutg -2 to pick vs USF
Utah pick at TCU
UConn pick vs Louisville
Maryland -3 vs UVA
Fla -6 at UK

My first play I'm locking in is Texas -whatever. It almost doesn't matter what the line is in this game.

I'm way ahead of schedule so I'll be done with my predictions in a few hours.

Going into last week I thought Vandy would be a good play this week. After watching the worst 2nd half of SC football I've witnessed in quite some time (maybe UGA 06' was worse) and Vandy off an OT loss to UGA, I don't know anymore. SC has Tennessee on deck and it is a noon game, the crowd will suck.

Just finished the first batch of analysis, and here is an updated list of early leans from me...

Troy
ULM
OU
Texas
Cincy
Ball State

I think we see some value on Clemson this week. Central Mich has looked great as of late, but they often falter once they have to take a step up in competition.

Where do you think UConn-Louisville line gets set? I have never been more clueless in my life as to where a line would fall..>I can usually at lest guess it within a FG...

Okay, more than likely my plays will come from the following list of updated leans...Won't really be looking at the rest of the card since these are the only matchups that have passed the first cut, unless of course a line is way off vs what I am expecting.

Troy - anything reasonable say 16.5 or less
ULM - anything around 6 or less
Oklahoma - will give it consideration at 21 or less
Texas - will give it consideration at 21 or less
Cincy - hoping for under a TD
Ball State - would probably lean strongly up to a small fav line
Arkie State - lean at anything around a FG or less either way
Buffalo - lean at anything around a FG
Houston - hoping for under 2 TDs here
Toledo - hoping for a pk, but like up to about 3 or so

I agree. I'd guess Uconn +3...... Are you goign to homecoming? I'll be there, i really hope they take yesterdays close loss as a wake up and inspires them.. cuz they did play well.

Yeah I'll be there...

Yesterday was frustrating...I really thought they had it, and if you just take away about one of 8 huge mistakes, they would have had the game. The center snaps thing is just frustrating, but a known evil on the road...but what kills me is DJ fumbling at the 4 yard line stretching out for no apparent reason, and Lou Allen getting the ball on 2nd and 1 and going sideways for a loss-he runs like a sissy for someone so big.

At least they covered. They came awfully close to not doing that, either...but Gould pushed it. UVA never should have been going for that FG anyway, IMO-I realize it would have forced UConn to score a TD, but the kickoff would have improved field position a ton and given Uconn a chance for a runback...

As for the game, I'm not sure I can back UConn in good faith. Louisville seems to be moderately back on track, and UConn can stop themselves on a few positions with mis-throws and dumb miscues, so UConn D will need to stop Brohm at least a few times. I'm not sure they can.

We'll find out what kind of heart they have in a bounceback game this week...

husky and seabass,

I lean to Connecticut again this week, but was wondering why Donald Brown didn't get any carries yesterday...you guys got any info?...

He apparently is suffering from a "slightly sprained ankle"

It was sustained in the Akron game 2 weeks ago, which means that the coaching staff is full of shit, or Donald Brown was actually suspended under the radar. They need him badly. I really think if Donald was in at the goal line instead of Lou Allen, UConn wins yesterday...

I have removed Arkie State and Toledo from my short list as I just don't have faith either one can produce this week and I don't wanna lay my money with bad road teams (Arkie St) or teams that are just plain bad (Toledo). Now if the lines come out a lot different than I expect, then I may reconsider just from a value standpoint, but just don't see either getting a ton of points due to their opposition this week.

seabass,

I agree with you that it may have been some type of disciplinary action, 'cause if he was even remotely healthy he would have played yesterday...thanks for that info...

Anyone have the LVSC openers for the entire card so that we can get a discussion going around those numbers? Thanks!

Thanks guys, appreciate it. Kansas just got added to my short list as I was expecting a TD or so on that one. Not much jumping out at me though so more work still to be done before the lines come out.
