initial thoughts

what is seriously wrong with the brewers? they were doing good after the CC trade, now they going down fast as ever, i believe they are still a good fade team

i think haren at -145 is a solid play, dbacks simply need wins and they need to take advantage coz holiday will continue to be out (re evaluated monday)

i really cant see petitte as -230, im not saying be the orioles, but andy at -230 is pure BS, he has been struggling as hell

i know royals can whack the living hell out of lefties but i expect the white sox to take a win tomorrow

some other pitchers i see value: morrow +120 and willis+125

good luck fellas

What's going on with the teams that need to win to make the playoffs? Phillies and D-Backs are in playoff races and won. However, the Twins, White Sox, Mets, Brewers, and Red Sox all lose?! WTF. Talk about wanting to get in.

You can't underestimate how tough the BJs have played Boston this season. The RS haven't won consecutively played games against them in TOR, so Saturday's loss was hardly a suprise.

Twins have been shite all season on the road vs good teams, and the WS badly miss Quentin (plus I think deep down both teams know each other's fate will be decided in the series about to be played in Minny between the 2 teams, so they're not playing balls to the wall now, they're saving that starting Monday).

Mets simply have problems winning in Atlanta, and the Brewers management undercut team psychology by firing Yost. Still, they know the Cubs have 4 against the Mets coming up while they in turn get a run of home games. I don't believe they're cooked yet, but Sunday's result will go a long way towards recognising whether they are or not.

The Cubs their last 10 home games have given up an average of 5.8 runs. They have 8 fewer losses than Phillie with 9 games to go and they are celebrating tonight as they clinched the Central. Will examine the spread tomorrow with interest. Played Reds as Brewers are 5-15 last 20 with 3 wins by Sabathia and 2 by Sheets while the Reds are 14-6 last 20 and are going with their best starter who is 11-4 last 15.

With Jason Bay in the lineup, the Red Sox have scored -

_8 totals of 3-4 runs
27 totals of 5+ runs (64.3%)

Since winning their 10th game straight on September the 9th, Toronto has gone 5-6 SU (4.27 runs/game), and is 1-4 SU off a win. They play Sunday off a win on Saturday.

- 1-16 SU in games which they've scored 0-2 runs (14-2-1 to Under)

FWIW: the Home team is 13-3 SU in Arizona's last 16 games (the 3 losses by 1, 1 & 2 runs).

Been fading Milw last few days in Cincy but its so obvious CIncy is the play now that it just may be time to jump off that train...vtw its pretty simple fade guys on 3 days rest doesnt work on the playoggs or Oct so why SEPT...faded both Flouyd and CC today due to that ...

Mets 1st 5 inn ML or ML. The kid Parr struggles bs LHbs ...

Zona looks so easy it scares me ...but may ride Oswalt

Tribe maybe 1st 5 ML

Yanks last ever game @ the Stadium ...wantto bang an over But Yanks ML and UNDER has been the approach ay home when they face a LHSP...look it up astounding ...probably helps being off a 1-0 game as well......

Dicek ..??Today was easy the rematch of the midweek game which Bos won 4-3 so went Tor and over.....

TB ML or 1st 5 with Sonnastine as Minny just is dead ...
probably just look at KC ML or under ...

Love OAK here .......well really love Gallagher here

Over Texas ...Lackey was shelled last outing @ Texas and needed some extra rest to which he was okay vs Oak..

Agree about avoiding 3 day rest pitchers but Bronson on 4 days rest where he is 8-4 and Cinn in the spot of third game at home after winning the first 2 is 5-2.

I doubt I take Milw here just hate the spot ...dont want to fade them one to many times and Reds lineup can be scary thin...they got the 1st inn run when CC was struggling , then 2 pn the PH my Micah Owings and then the young MI had an RBI...Dickerson absence sucks and depends who plays ....just think the game should be about -120 ..:shake:

if for nothing else, sentimental reasons alone.

don't hate, appreciate...true greatness...at least for one day, as a fan of the game, you need not be jealous or bitter. you'll never see the end of another stadium like this one...because in your lifetime, your kid's lifetimes, and your grandchildren's lifetimes...the sheer amount of history/success/legendary players/etc witnessed in Yankee Stadium over the last 85 years will never be approached.

fwiw, i threw a hundy on it. :tiphat:

besides, i was told that Mystique & Destiny were on call to perform tonight.

Have to look at Cardinals as a situational play.. Anyone seen a number yet. Pinella said his SP's will not go deeper than 5 innings the rest of the way and am guessing a bunch of guys rest today.

They'll probably suck the value out of the number though

You won't say Balt, but I will, Petitte has no business being -230 vs anyone!!!

your Ump is the problem. Bad Over Umps make all pitchers look better, and on this occasion you can be assured the powers that be want a Yankee victory for the sport's feel good factor moving forward. So as sucky as Pettitte has been, he has the Ump & occasion on his side. The best Balty will do is lose by 1 or 2, to fuck over Yankee (-1.5 &/or -2.5) RL bettors chasing their 3rd straight game.

thats my .02

Under no conditions should a bet of -230 be made on Petitte, the Yanks may win for the sake of history/feel goodness & all the other b/s but people who care about their $$ should not risk -230 on Petitte now or any time in the future. You are correct about the UMP he is the perfect ump for a Yanks win, imo the ump is the only reason Petitte has a chance.

I like this play as Arroyo has really turned it around as of late and as you mentioned Brewers fading and Reds playing well.

my post wasn't about waxing lyrical for a bet on the Yanks, it was about the inertia to betting Baltimore.

cant believe your gonna beat off while watching the game tonight... thats wild

need yanks ML to complete a ML parlay with the iggles.....

and played the RL at -120 for small too

how can you not play the yanks? last game at yankee stadium, pettite's dominance over the o's in the past, emotional game for yankee players and fans, theyre not going to the playoffs this year (hip hip, HOORAY! [sorry yankee fans!])..... so this is their world seires to them

Simple problem . You dont lay -230 on Pettitte . You lay -230 on the Yankees to win . To much is made of who starts and if your lucky thats about 6 or 7 innings ...

Nothing to do with this game but I still dont understand why we call out SPs . Its about will that team win that day not who starts . The key role of the SP is not be Greg Reynolds ...aka putting your team down 5-6-7 to 0 without even getting up yet .....

Really nothing to do with this game but you have to at least ask yourself about all the other components....

Just a general statement here ...your backing the team not the SP and on some days the SP might lead you to victory and others you may win in spit of the SP . Granted I understand wanting to have alot of faith in a SP if your laying 230 but its just part of the equation.....

Yanks 11-2 SU and 11-2 UND wheb facinga LHSP at home since 5-25th when ARod returned from the DL .....Lost 0-7 to Lester and 6-7 to Parrish vs Ranser .

Most amazing is that in the 11 wins they allowed 0 , or 2 runs in 10 of those games only a 6-5 wins vs Washburn back in late May .....did they not allow 2 or less.....

BOL

Definitely agree with ya nut. This is a dynasty closing out a stadium that hundreds of greats have come through and many a world series have been won.

While pettite HAS had good numbers against the o's in the past, no he's not worth laying -230 for, but the yanks are, in this spot
(not recommending or advocating laying it straight up, no value, but great for a 2 or 3 team parlay)

Yeah pettite looked a lil shaky earlier and that error cost us a run... but lose or win i think you can make a case for the yanks to win in this situation.... 4 out of 5 times. so at -230 that would denote a play on it, right?

fans have been there since 9 am this morning.... this is like a world series game for the yanks since no playoffs this year- this is the way they can give back to their fans and also end this historical place on a good note!

If this isnt a prime situational spot, i dont know what is!

Losing this game somewhat taints the great things that happened here, at least in short-term future, IMO.

*taints the LEGACY that happened here

that should say, in the last sentence....
thats the word i was looking for, legacy.
