Liriano began this season in the minors, going 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in two starts with Triple-A Rochester and Class A Fort Myers. He allowed 11 hits and seven runs in a combined 9 1/3 innings, with 11 strikeouts and five walks. He threw 88 pitches in four innings on Tuesday for Rochester, allowing three runs and five hits while walking three and striking out three.
I know, Liriano was excelent before injury, but hey...
Bannister is great at the moment. He has 2-0 and ERA 1,50. He faced two big teams Yankees and Tigers.

Who is Niemann anyway?Niemann is off to a 1-1 start with a 3.27 ERA in Triple-A. He pitches six innings Tuesday, allowing four hits, three runs and three walks to go with four strikeouts. Niemann was a part of the famed 2004 pitcher draft with Justin Verlander, Jered Weaver and Phil Hughes, but he has failed to live up to that elite prospect status thus far.

Good stuff. I believe Niemann is the big dud from Rice and I also believe he throws fairly hard but I havent seen him in awhile. He supposedly pitched fairly well this Spring only getting sent down cause he had options and Jackson and Hammel didnt. With Burress a LHP going against TB I will look at the UNDER 9.5. TB only has Upton , Longoria , Gomes from the RH side and Bartlett and Riggans ..

Ramble - If your chasing an UNDER you probably have the best shot here. Zona will mash LHP this year with a middle of the order of Upton , Reynolds , Jackson and Chris Young up top. So when they face RHP I expect there scoring to drop drastically because they have Hudson a switch hitter and Drew I believe and thats all from the LH side...so Cook should do well and Col continues to slump which should be a plus for a medicore SP like Gonzo...


Basically looking at

Tribe and Under . Neither team scored much in day games and Oak has scored 7 runs in 3 day starts this year including losing to Lee 2-1 last Sunday. The A's havent hit many HRs although Crosby went yard today and you would think Lee could follow up his last start since in prior seasons he was always tough on Oakland at home and this lineup is watered down compared to those. Might see Suzuki get a day off as he has hit well but day after night game. Gaudin was real solid in day starts last year but really he just started throwing off a mound aroun March 1st and is working his way back. He only had 2 walk last game but I would think his placement was off considering he allowed 8 hits. Still Tribe doesnt hit much in day games either and isnt swinging well to boot. Cle pen is real solid in day games and if lee goes 6 solid I think we see a 5-3 Tribe win...

Hard to pass up Milw again especially facing another LHP and possibly missing Reyes again. Suppan has been solid so far and does have a great track record vs the Mets..at 9 possible under ...weather could limit the Hrs which Milw needed 3 to get there runs..

Really cant touch Washington till they show something. Glavine has been soid so far and always pitched well @ the old RFK. Redding was excellent and then I guess shoddy defense did him in with 6 unearned runs.. Happy he is doing well but his stuff is so average...seems like a game where we should see some offense..Nats got 3 hits from Guzman atop the order and two by Zimmerman and little else...Wily Mo Pena is a huge asbence at this point..

Not sure how the weather shakes out in Philly but looking at an over. Moyer was rocked in his opener and then was hit hard @ Shea but he can thank the crazy Shea wind patterns from keeping the ball in the park. Marquis has battled strep throat which probably left him weak and not doing much bullpen work. H ecould tire early and one would assume Chi pen is kinda taxed after the Pitt series and short outing by Hill who is available in the pen I believe.....so want to see how the sun shines or doesnt..

In Pitt Cueto vs Gorzelanny seems like a 2-1 game. Neither team hitting much this series 1-0 game followed by 4-3 . Cant back Cincy vs a LHP and Cueto has been ultra inpressive..supposedly Gorzelanny has some shoulder issues that have persisted since ST started....

In the mid afternoon games :

Anytime Wandy Rodriguez is starting at home you have to be interested in Houston. Also like the over here. Burke Badenhop has decent results so far bewteen his Spring Training and 1st outing the other day. Problem is his age alone tells you what to expect. Now 25 he started last year in Single A and made about 4 starts at Double AA once promoted. If he doesnt have great velocity what do we expect? Says he is a sinker ball pitcher with no secondary pitches...okay ...expect some offense here....

Might have some interest in Wsox vs the LH Rogers. Vazquez is solid and I just dont see how DET is gonna hit tough RHs with good breaking stuff.

Agree with you guys fadde Liriano and Minny . He is still working his way back....one issue is KCs lefthanded loaded lineup.....

Possible over in Texas as Burnett stunk his last game..Feldman who knows what to expect. he did have a 6 inning n0-no at Double A and has converted to throwing three quarters now...who knows what to expect probably stay away until further review...

havent looked much at the 4 pm starts yet....the Yankee - Sox game will be interesting is to see if NYK who has seen a dramatic drop in walks will work Dice K like it has in the past .......always high pitch counts vs NYY....

looks like you have a slightly under ump and the wind is projected to blow slightly in from RF or right to left I think... dont know how accurate these projections are, two different sources. Still Cook has been lit up by the D-Backs. Career #'s - 5.13 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, .295 BAA. A goood portion of that damage was done by Chad Tracy who's on the DL but Mark Reynolds, his replacement and the future, is 3/6 lifetime, 2 XBH. Hudson hits him well, Upton hasn't ever faced him but he's been racking it and shows little signs of stopping right now. Young seems to be able to churn out a hit a game even though he's only hitting .233, it's always seemed to turn into a run, and he's taking walks so far this year, although he hasn't in 3 games. Anyways Cook does one thing that is beneficial to the under which is go atleast 6 innings, 9 of his last 10 he's gone 6 but he's given up 3+ in all of those games, and 4+ in 6 of those games. Edgar Gonzalez I'm not a big fan of. He was a starter for some of last year but he always ends up leaving the game after only 5 innings. He has a 7.29 ERA lifetime vs the Rockies in about 21 Innings. He pitches poorly at Home with a 6.32 lifetime ERA. The pitchers are a real liability for you and this looks like one of those games that Colorado will just pound a guy in one or two innings and Arizona will score plenty themselves throughout the game because they've been getting timely hitting.

Under 9 -05 Cleveland and Oakland {1.5u}:

Yesterday they got to 10 runs basically due to wildness think they combined for 15 hits. A's havent been hitting the long ball. The tribe is struggling on offense and both teams seem to have weak day splits last season while Cle's pen especially tends to excel. Good track record for Lee vs Oak in the past and he just beat them 2-1 last Sunday in Oakland. Lee had a great attitude supposedly and busted his ass to work his way back to previous form so not expecting any letdown start. Gaudin is somewhat of a concern becuase I feel he rushed back from injury to start. He should be better the second time around and Cle sends 4 LH and then 5 RHB at him. He has held Sizemore and Martinez incheck in his short appearances vs them a 4-18 combined. Delluci is 2-3 but usually a solid hitter he has also struggled. Gaudin was better in day starts lat year by about a run so hoping that continues. Think CLE wins not sure I want to lay -150 though..so I waited and went CLE -160...smart move huh...just tough to sweep 2 series away and Cle had huge prices with its best SP and yet this is the bst matchup for them...

After seeing Glavines recent day splits I had to take Washington. Dont like the idea to sit Johnson because Glavine is unconventional and is exactly tough on LHB. However the return of Pena is huge IMO and he seems okay w/o bein an ass its not like Glavines velocity will be an adjustment..not trusting of Redding either ..so played Over 9 -120 here and might add more at 9.5 because that seems like a steam move and playing Wash +105 ..

Going with texas again. Halladay was ON his game and it remains to be seen if Burnett can bounce back. Last outing he was hit hard and you always wonder if something is wrong. Still no Milton Bradley and you have to love when your DH is hitting 087 ...sorry Frank ! Feldman 1st ML start and Mendoza's problem was command yesterday between walks , falling behind and some bad defense (which has happened a few straight games now for TEX) it just wasnt a good recipe.

The key here is Feldman has been tough on RHBs see the Jays lineup and he was much better athome when he was a reliever...Historically Tor has struggled in Texas so hoping they can avoid the sweep and I get ++ money....smaller play on the UNDER...also of note BJ Ryan is back..

First thing I noticed about Dice K this year is while he is pitching better and faced lineups in DET which will struggle with RHPs and Oak which is a hot or cold type of offense is that he had some extra rest for each of starts. So I checked to see if there was a difference last season when he went on regular turn which is 5 days or rest compared to pitching on 6 or better days rest.

As you can see there is a quite a difference.

5-7 in 13 starts with a 5.29 ERA on normal rest
9-5 in 18 starts with a 3.96 ERA on extended rest

Normal rest about 6.1 innings per start
Extended rest 6.2 innings per start ( 5more starts and 34.1 more innings)

Hits 85 in 81 2/3 inns vs 100 in 116 inn while allowing just 3 more runs on extended rest despite the nearly 35 inning difference.

Last year some struggles vs LHB. Well his numbers look much better but what LHs has he faced ?? DET Guillen and Jones ? Oak Buck who was hitless forever , Barton , Hannahan , Cust , etc...not slouches but not All Stars either which makes the Yankee lineup interesting for him.....

Last year NYY really made him work. 108 , 117 , 110 and 120 in 7 inn , 6 inn , 6.1 inn and 5.1 that will be the key for him


Ortiz is not starting.

Hughes hasnt been especially sharp vs LHB and Boston still has some quality ones even without Big Papi....


Gonna take a small stab on the Yanks here because I dont think Dice K is improving but he is exceling because he is getting that extra day rest which seems to benefit him...and parlay it with the Over...just shits and giggles...NYY is showing signs of hitting better and so has Boston IMO...
