Let's talk sunday baseball

Price was scratched yesterday because of the flu. It's his first start on six days rest in 2014 and will only be his second start on six days of rest since 2011. He started a road game against the 'Jays on July 19 last season on six days of rest and allowed 4 runs on 7 hits (3 HR) in 7.0 innings pitched. The Rays are 16-2 SU in dude's starts versus the Blue Jays (8-2 SU home) but the whole flu issue really fucks that up. Who knows if he's starting or even sick, or if he was scratched due to trade rumors. Price also scratched from the ASG.

I remember last season you guys were talking about this being the second-most significant getaway day aside from the last day of the regular season. The last five years (going back to 2009) the under has hit at a rate of 41-29-6 (.586) on the Sunday before the ASG.

Looking at Cubs to avoid sweep. Teheran not same pitcher on road as home. But will wait until tomorrow. Line should rise.

Teheran had his worst game of his career in his last outing. He was flustered thinking the Mets were stealing signs. He's an intense competitor, and has great numbers against the Cubs. I think he bounces back strong

Daniel Murphy getting day off today. Eric Campbell at 2nd for Mets. Not a good look for Mets D.

Interested in Angels lineup. Have watched a bunch of the LAA-Tex series and rangers look beat.

Today's New York Mets lineup

Curtis Granderson – RF
Eric Campbell – 2B
David Wright – 3B
Lucas Duda – 1B
Juan Lagares – CF
Chris Young – LF
Anthony Recker – C
Ruben Tejada – SS
Jacob deGrom – RHP

Tehran has failed to get through 5 innings only three times in his career. One of those times was when he lasted 3.1 innings on May 14 in San Francisco versus the Giants. He gave up five runs (four earned) on seven hits. He pitched a CGSO versus the Brewers in his subsequent start.

Exactly, plus he was facing Mets back to back after win at home.

A's are probably looking to bust a big fat one after being shut down by Felix and Iwakuma the past two games. Iwakuma shut them out for 8 innings last night but as soon as the bullpen came in they immediately put up two runs in the 9th. They might be wanting to bust it open today.

Francisco Liriano (oblique) will return to the Pirates' starting rotation this weekend versus the Reds.
Liriano was fantastic in his rehab debut Monday at Triple-A Indianapolis, striking out eight batters and yielding only three hits over six scoreless innings against the Phillies' Triple-A team. The left-hander has been out since June 11 with a strained oblique. Jul 8 - 5:20 PM

Eddings is coming off two consecutive overs. It sucks he is in Balty. Every game in Baltimore has gone under the total since they got home on the 9th. I wanted to have some fun tonight and bet the over.

The O's are 8-0 SU L8 at home after being shut out at home. This trend goes back to the beginning of the 2012 season. The average line in those games was -160 for the O's. The O/U went 1-6-1 against an average total of 8.8. The average score in those games was 5-2.

The O's are 13-1 SU L14 overall after being shut out the previous game. The trend goes back to August 4, 2012. The average line in those games was -129 for the O's. The lone loss was a 6-8 defeat to the Royals at Kaufmann Stadium on May 18 of this season as an underdog of +132.

I really didn't feel like laying -140 tonight.

Cant deny those numbers. I havent gotten that deep into the day yet.

There is a huge difference with Gausman's home/away splits when opposing teams are seeing him for the first time.

The O's are 0-3 SU when opposing teams are seeing Gausman for the first time at their house. Those were the Blue Jays and Nationals in May 2013, and the Rays in June 2013. Gausman allowed 18 runs in 13.1 innings pitched in those three games.

The O's are 3-0 SU in Gausman's starts at home when the opposing team is seeing him for the first time. It was the Tigers and Red Sox in June of 2013 and the A's on June 7 of this season. Gausman allowed 4 runs in 18.1 innings pitched those three games.
