I know its homerish but why would the Predators be a bad play. Great season last year, good goalie, veteran players and the lineup didn't change a ton unless I'm forgetting a loss to free agency

cant say its a 'bad' play like you are throwing money away, but playing in arguably best division in the league, in a short schedule where you wont get to play any weak sisters in the east even once is going to be tough... weber lost his d partner in Suter to FA (Minny) and hey really dont have all that mch fire pwer... Radulov is gone, but the drama he brought will be a welcome dismissal IMO...

how about the hurricanes??, the division is so up and down, young players last year, and new additions

The canes are solid value....can't wait to see the Staal brothers, also Semin if Cam Ward is anything like himself they will surprise some teams
 
I know its 'out there' if you will, but the division is not good, the schedule can allow for them to jump out hot and pick up points, and I think their top 2 lines are pretty good... not elite good but Hodgson can get minutes there...

Plus the Miller factor can get hot at any time for a significant run

ya... Vanek and leino need to step it up again but they have what it takes...

not saying Id play it, just wouldnt be shocked to see a run
 
maybe a look at their win totals if they put them out this year...that being said losing roy is big

I liked what I was watching when Boudreau took over... Their top 2 lines are nothing to sneeze at, and top lines if they pick it up from last year can score at any point.

Hiller if he stays strong and healthy can steal games...

their d is the weak part of the team obviously, but I think if anything Souray should help the PP units....
 
I think the price is a little much for the Pens, they are the top 5 team in the league everybody thinks but are going to be overvalued through the season IMO... and on this cup odds...
 
outside the top 3 I don't see any talent

I think Teemu and Saku really struggle this year with the condensed schedule, outside of that I see a lineup of 4th liners

The D is bad, outside Fowler

Sourey will help on the pp and they probably have a great pp but that's the only bright spot I see, the rest of the guys are all 5th/6th defensman on other teams

I think there's a legit chance Perry and Getzlaf both get dealt as well

not a fan of Hiller

they finished with a -49 GD last year

Chicago had the lowest GD to make the playoffs in the west last year at +10

that's a 59 goal difference, that no 2 players in the league are going to make up

Suter will help that, and Backstrom should be healthy this season too
