Spurs v Charlton, Monday Nite Action

Greencastle

The Doc
Spurs ML

Tottenham are just the better team by far. They have been scoring a lot lately and defensively are improving with the return of Mr. King. Charlton will be desperate for points but it looks like they will by going south to the Championship next season.

Over 2.5

Charlton have to attack because nothing over than a win will do for their survival hopes. On the other side Spurs are always going to create chances and with players like Berbatov and Defoe they have the quality to convert them into goals.

Do you like Spurs better or OVER?

I noticed the total is 2.5 over -120, which is fairly rare for a premiership game; makes me like OVER a tad more.

Also, with the game at Charlton, are you not worried about the hosts coming out with a sense of urgency?

Thanks in advance for your reply...

rex, charlton will be playing with tons of urgency, but it won't really matter because the difference in talent levels is so huge.

nobody on charlton (besides D Bent) would come even close to making it on tottenham's bench, let alone starting lineup.

plus spurs have a lot to play for as they are chasing a UEFA Cup spot for next season. they are also relatively fresh, compared to when they were playing 3 games a week not too long ago.

How'd abandoning Palace for Charlton work out Dowie?

Classic. That they're going down might be the only silver lining in an otherwise forgettably bad season for Palace.

I think I like this play, under the lights, the better team with some motivation--there's no reason the Spurs might be looking ahead, not show up, or catch Charlton desperate is there?

Sir Tyler, still don´t trust online books, huh...;)

Glad to see you found your way over here!

Mike, it was also a "London Derby" when Spurs beat the shit out of Charlton 5-1 earlier this season.

It was also a "London Derby" when Tottenham beat West Ham, on the road, in a similar situation 3-4 not too long ago.

uhh ok, i wasn't directing that comment towards you, i was throwing it out there so people who are unfamiliar with the circumstances can understand this isn't just another match

ya bro i hear what ur saying. but i dont consider it a big derby, theres not much of a rivalry or hatred between the two clubs.

good win by ur boys this weekend. nice goals by banglawhore and burgerman as well.

This is it for Charlton Athletic...Defoe makes it 2-0 going into the stoppage time...

It's nice to get some big clubs back in the top flight, with Sunderland and Birmingham getting promoted.

And good to get rid of the smaller teams like Charlton.
