Niners last year had less talent on the field and a plethora of issues off the field. I believe they have an upper tier defense still. Motivation won't be a problem and they can still stop the run.
Its a risk of course but I've never seen an instance where perception (of loss) is so much worse than actuality. Ian Williams, Bowman, and their safeties are the strength of their defense. Offense is up in the air but I think I'm getting +3 when they should be -3.
