That Boise St line is huge. So. Miss will have trouble stopping the pass. I hate to be on such a public side tonight but Boise gets it done at home and on the Smurf Blue Field.. My numbers show Boise by 17 points.

Boise - 10 1/2

:cheers:Good Luck Fellas

Blue_Chip, ETG......Thanks  Something just seemed fishy about that line . Boise should cruise here, IMO.

USM has one hell of a RB in Fletcher, USM always has a respectable defense, and Bower is in his 17th season as head coach. USM lost to Tenn in Knoxville by 20 pts, and the more I think about it, I think Tenn at home is at least 10 pts better than Boise at home.

You see, I am second guessing myself by merely discussing this game with you, that is why I am staying away. GL shark...

I am staying away because I can see a reason to play both sides. I made a mistake last yr taking Oregon St on the Smurf Turf. Jumped out 14-0 and thought I was golden. I wasn't so happy 42 points later. With that said, I am in no hurry to take Boise laying 10.5 because I had the line at about 7. So Miss is a respectable team with a good RB and very well coached team. I like SoMiss, have them meeting up with Houston again for the C-USA and Fletcher is real nice but I just can't touch this game, I will sit on the side lines.

Good luck to you Spanish. Yea, I have to agree with the others on this one. It should be a no play. But since I'm not playing it I'll be rooting for ya.

i think Boise on the ML is a good play. they never lose on the smurf turf. I can't get myself to lay 10.5

chips t, the fact that the numbers I came up with had them -14 and that they have a record of 35-16-1 ATS swayed me into laying the points.

Thanks

Health on this one...I think losing Zabransky is significant to this team. They will most likely win this game, but I think it will only be by a TD or two FG's, maybe even 10 on the nose. We will see what happens tonight...BOL to you!

Locked in Boise-9.5 on monday.....it was 10, bought the hook at -120

Good health to the Boise backers. Here's my write up.

Southern Miss +11 @ Boise State<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->. Yes, I realize this game is being played on the smurf turf, but this isn't your baby daddy's Boise State team. Ian Johnson has struggled running the ball without the benefit of the Zabransky passing attack. He averaged 4.1 yards per carry in loss @ Washington and had just 3.5 yards a tote in an ugly home win vs. Wyoming. QB Taylor Tharp is averaging just 6.7 yards per attempt and has an anemic 3 TD passes and 3 picks on the year. For comparison sake, Zabransky averaged 9 yards per attempt last season.

Defensively, the Broncos are yielding a solid 250 yards a game, but the Southern Miss Offense should be the toughest test for Boise to date. Senior QB Jeremy Young is enjoying a great start to the season and seems to be reaching a production level that matches his physical skills. He's a big strong athletic guy, who is second on the team in rushing, and should pose problems for the Broncos D. Talented sophomore RB Damion Fletcher is coming off a workmanlike 27 carries for 111 yards in a win vs. a tough East Carolina defense. Coach Jeff Bowers will play it close to the vest and keep his Golden Eagles in this game where they'll have a shot to win in the 4th quarter. Vegas calls for a total in the high 40's but it'll be a bit lower. 24 to 21 Boise.

LETS GO BOISE!

This Southern Miss team looks good. Trends aside, how are people really laying the line on Boise? Southern is the best team they will be playing. Boise State hasn't been lights out.

Gonna pass on the side, but what u think of the under? I got this from sportsbook.com's newsletter. I usually look at it as fade material, but it actually has some good points..

Here's Sportsbook.com's Game of the Day:
In their last 9 non-conference games, Boise State covered the UNDER 8 times. Meanwhile, the UNDER is 22-9-1 in Southern Miss' last 32 non-conference games. Expect a ton of rushing as Southern Miss averages 182 yards per game on the ground, while Boise State averages 198.7. Moreover, at home on the 'smurf turf', Boise State surrenders just 54.5 rushing yards per game. With these trends and stats in mind, it is amazing that fewer than 10% of the early bettors are backing the UNDER (49.5).

Everyone's right, Boise State hasn't been lights out...but their competition has been tough. Against Washington they looked asleep and made crucial mistakes, but at home they've been very very good. Yes, Weber State is a IAA Sucker, but Boise State rang up 49 points in the first half against them before throwing out the benchwarmers for the second half.

Wyoming is not getting enough credit. To put up 24 against them is not that bad. Virginia's RB Peerman in three games not against Wyoming has run for 137, 186, and 138, but against Wyoming he only ran for 18 yards. Their defense is stifling. For Johnson to average 3.5 against them is pretty good.

Don't count Boise State out.

And dont forget that Washington did not score one single point in the second half once Boise adjusted. As far as Wyoming, heck , they scored the only points they had at the end of the 4th quarter. 3 points came at the last 53 seconds so that score is deceiving.

Good call, I just won half a unit on the ML cause I get too nervous to put decent money on a huge fave ML. Shoulda went with ya on ats.

STATS STICK! (WELL A MAJORITY OF THE TIME)

BigRaktor...thanks

Yeah Chip, I had them by 17....haha..and used that same system to cap the WV/USF tonight and I have the game a PK. Hmmm. Gonna be interesting.

Silver...yeah, but be careful with trends :shake:

I got Boise -14 last night, you got Boise -17. Now I have USF +3 and you have USF Pk. If we keep differing by 3 and continue beating Vegas, then we should just replace LVSC.
