Early games - to - late games

Virginia O was shot out of a cannon to start, went up 14-0 5min into the game and UVA missed FG on their 3rd drive and later would miss a second FG in 1st H. Was "only" 21-7 HT despite total domination, 338 to 121 1st H yards! UVA would finish with 556-337 (7.6-4.7). ILL got as close as 7 points til UVA scored the games final 21 pts. Armstrong passed 27-36-405-5-1 and added 31y rushing.

Army ran for 339, WKU passed for 435. Teams combined to convert 16-of-23 3rd down. WKU's first two drives were INT at A36 and SOD at A38. Army fumbled at W10. Scoreless 1st Q and still combined for 73 pts. Army maintained a 14 point lead off -and-on until WKU cut it to 7 under 5min left. Army kicked a 31y FG to go up 10 under 2min. WKU backdoored with :22 left. WKU onside kicked 3x in the 4th Q recovering none.

Kent St rushed for 494 vs VMI (most in a game for Flashes since 1954). 698 TY, third most program history in their 60-10 win, led 39-0 HT.

Wake Forest wins 41-16, WF scored on their first 7 possessions including a short field following a blk'd punt in the 3rd Q. Norfolk St got 153 of their 336 TY on final 3 possessions.

Georgia Tech led 24-3 HT vs Kennesaw in the 45-17 win. Yates started at QB and went 17-23-254-4-0 although was sacked 3x. GT D had 10 TFLs vs the option O.

Northwestern scored 14 1st Q pts vs Indiana St, but would only score 10 more the rest of the game, 24-6 F (garbage score for IndSt in final minutes). TY were just 275-169 (4.4-3.0). 75 of IndSt's yards were on final drive. Teams struggled equally on 3rd down combining for 9-of-28. Johnson 9-16-66-1-1. Ind St got 9 TFLs!

Tennessee went up 7-0 after a blk'd punt at the P02. UT would lead 10-0, but Pitt slowly but surely took control of the game and held on late. Pitt led 34-20 3rd Q. UT was inside the P05 late 4th Q, but were SOD. TY were 397-374 (4.8-5.7) for Pitt. Pitt D 5 sacks Milton got hurt finished 7-12-50-0-0, leading rusher 5x 54y. Milton overthrew several deep balls. Hooker 15-21-188-2-1, 49y rushing. Pickett 24-36-285-2-0. Pitt only ran for 2.1ypc as a team, leading RB only avg 3.6ypc.

Oregon never trailed. Ohio State did have 612-505 TY edge (7.2-6.9). Ducks ran for 269 (7.1) to OSU's 128 (4.1). Ohio St was SOD at the O31 (4th-7 incomplete), O39 (4th-2 run no gain), O08 (4th-2 incomplete). OSU was forced into going for five 4th downs and only converted 2. Stroud attempted 54 passes and had no impact running, just a single rush for 15y and no other gains. Brown rushed 10x for 65y while passing 17-35-236-2-0. As a team Ducks ran for 7.1ypc to OSU's 4.1ypc.

East Carolina scored on the first play of the game and led 14-0. South Carolina got a 63y pick-six before HT and would tie 3rd Q 14-14. ECU had to kick a 26y FG after having FD at the SC12. SC ret'd the KO 63y setting them up for a tying 39y FG. ECU went 3-and-out and SC went 52y on the final possession and nailed a 36y FG as time expired. These teams combined to convert just 4-of-28 3rd downs! SC lost 3 turnovers, including fumbling into the EZ. ECU lost 2.

Auburn only led 20-0 HT. Tigers did kick two FGs from the RZ in the 1st Q and then blk'd a FG for TD in the 2nd Q. They exploded in the 3rd Q for 35 pts! The 2nd H O/U was just 21. 62-0 F with a pick-six and a 94y run thrown in there.

Oklahoma State scored 21 pts in the 4th Q after being held to just 7 the previous 3 quarters. Each team had a non-offensive TD. Tulsa took a 17-14 lead 4th Q settling for a 20y FG after having a 1st-and-goal at the OSU07. OSU ret'd the ensuing KO 98y to take a 21-17 lead. OSU extended to 28-17 before Tulsa scored late and Pokes recovered onside kick. Tulsa outgained them 347-313 (5.3-4.5).

Michigan State led 28-0 with a couple deep TD passes. Was 42-14 after 3 Q. MSU did fumble at the YSU01 on their final drive of the game.

Minnesota led 21-3 HT, but MiamiOh would score 17 straight to make a game of it. Min converted two Mia turnovers into 10 pts (short field TD and zero yard possession FG). Gabbert started for Mia, 14-29-201-2-1, he was teams leading rusher with just 27y. Mayer played just threw 2 passes. Morgan 8-17-112-2-0. Miami did record 10 TFLs and Min avg just 3.8ypc rushing.

Florida scored TDs on 5 straight 1st H possessions leading 35-3 HT. In the game UF had scoring plays of 75y, 35y, 41y, 33y and 80 yards. 10 of USF’s 20 points were set up off turnovers including a FG “drive” they lost yardage on. USF’s final TD of the game was a 27y “drive” after a long punt return. UF ran for 363 (8.3) led again by Richardson who had 115 on just 4 carries. Jones added 81y. The two passed for 303 going 17-of-25 with a 3-2 ratio.

Tulane’s 69 points were the most under coach Willie Fritz. Pratt came out of the game mid 2nd Q with Wave up 38-0.

Northern Illinois threw 3 INTs, one went for a Wyoming pick-six and the other set up a 1p 26y “drive” for TD. Wyoming would have leads of 21-3, 28-10 and 42-16 before NIU started their comeback late 3rd Q. NIU scored then WYO was SOD then WYO mishandled a backwards pass and soon it was 42-36! NIU forced a 3-and-out and would drive for an amazing 43-42 lead with 5min left! WYO drove for the go-ahead TD and 2pt conversion with 1:35 left. NIU ended the game at the W46 with 4 straight incompletions. Surprisingly NIU outrushed WYO 244-191 (6.4-4.2) and held a 477-395 (6.4-5.8) TY edge. Both teams efficient on 3rd down combining for 18-of-28.

Virginia Tech wins 35-14, only outgains MTSU 383-349 (5.7-4.6) but did outrush them 224-66 (5.7-1.8). VT’s leading rushers were RB Blackshear 53y and Burmeister 52y. Game was 35-7 until MTSU’s final drive of the game when the Raiders went 13p 86y for TD with :20 left. MTSU converted 4th down on both their TD drives.

Duquesne beat an FBS for the first time in program history. The Dukes were playing without their starting QB, their backup made his first career start. Ohio ret’d opening KO to lead 6-0 and later led 13-3, but after getting 13 pts OU would not score again until the 4th Q. Duquesne climbed back into it despite not being efficient in the RZ, a week after several short FGs in the game vs Syracuse, Duquesne kicked FGs from O06, O20, O03 and O09 yard lines! For the second straight week Ohio was pinned at their 1 yard line following a punt and gave up a safety. Duquesne won by 2. Duquesne had edges: TY 362-307 (4.6-6.7), plays 79-46, FD 26-15 and TOP 41-19. OU was 1-of-7 3rd down.

Syracuse outgained Rutgers 258-195 (4.2-2.8), but were –3 turnovers; a fumble at the R05 (after 52y drive), own 10 (led to FG) and INT near mid-field to end game. Rutgers blk’d a punt in Cuse terr but couldn’t score any points off it. Scoreless 1st H. Teams combined just 5-of-29 3rd downs. Rutgers D 6 sacks, Cuse D 4 sacks (13 TFL!).

Notre Dame escapes with a 32-29 win. Toledo kicked 3 FGs from the RZ in the 1st H to lead 16-14 even though ND had a 246-153 1st H yard edge. Toledo took the lead on a 27y pick-six and earlier benefited from ND fumble near midfield and ND SOD at N40, both which led to FGs. Toledo struggled on O their first 4 drives of the 2nd H while ND went up 24-16. A Koback 67y run moved UT deep in ND terr and 5 plays later UT cut it to 22-24 (2pt no good). ND fumbled at T33 under 4min left and UT was able to drive down, with go-ahead 26y TD run 1:35 left. Toledo was called for 3 penalties on D (1 declined) while ND moved down to retake the lead on an 18y TD pass to Mayer with 1:09 left. UT fumbled on a sack own 25 to end game. ND had 449-353 (6.0-5.6) TY edge, but struggled to pass protect (Coan sacked 6x + 6 other hurries) and Williams ran for 43y for his long and then ran for 35y on his other 15 carries. ND used backup mobile QB Tyler Buchner who rushed 7-68 while completing 3-for-3 passing 78y (long 55). ND D did get 5 sacks of their own. UT was called for 11 penalties to NDs 3.

Purdue got their first shut out since 2011. Purdue had 562-223 (7.2-3.8) TY edge. Boilers scored TDs on 8 straight possessions at one point.

Central Michigan got their first shut out since 2013. Chips held a 28-3 FD edge and 515-109 TY advantage.

Texas A&M lost QB Haynes King on just the second series of the game. Without him Aggies would drive into CU territory just once in the next seven possessions, that one resulting in a missed FG. Colorado also missed a FG but carried a 7-3 lead for most of the game. Aggie D limited CU to just 54y in the 2nd H and Buffs went 0-for-6 on 3rd down in the 2nd H. Late in the game backup QB Calzada led two long drives, the first of which appeared as if he broke the plane of the EZ for a go-ahead TD, but replay showed the ball came out for a fumble just before midway through 4th Q. Aggies again drove down the field and Calzada threw a great 18y TD pass on 3rd down for the 10-7 lead under 3min left. CU didn’t get further than their own 33 being stopped on 4th down. TY were 288-260 (4.2-4.1) for Aggies. CU did run for 171 (4.5) to Aggies 97 (3.3).

Boston College QB Phil Jurkovec was injured in the 1st H on BC’s first TD drive, he was replaced by experienced backup Dennis Grosel. BC scored on their first 2 drives, but only had a total of 3 1st H possessions. UMass was SOD at B07, but then benefitted from two BC fumbles to score two TDs (one a 2p 58y drive, one a 3p 1y “drive”). Score was 28-14 at this point. BC would score on D and had a 96y KO ret TD for the final 45-28 score. BC did outgain them 471-335 (7.7-5.7). BC converted 10-of-13 3rd down to UMass’ 2-of-8 (2-of-3 4th down). Grosel 11-14-199-1-0.

Georgia Southern opened with a 13p 95y TD drive and then fumbled at the F11 on their second drive. They would not cross midfield on their next 5 possessions. Florida Atlantic started slow, but once they got going in the 2nd Q they scored on 5 straight possessions. GaSo’s only other potential for points was a SOD possession a the F02 4th Q. FAU outgained them 541-257 (7.4-4.1) and Owls outrushed them 209-139 (4.8-3.7). GaSo D did get 5 sacks. FAU was 10-of-15 3rd down. GaSo below 50%. Ransom was GaSo’s primary QB 12-21-98-0-0, leading rusher 9-41. Perry threw for 332 and 4 TDs.

Akron jumped out to an early 14-0 lead! Temple got a 70y TD pass! It was 17-7 Zips with Temple missing a FG when Akron QB Kato Nelson was tackled awkwardly, he fumbled and Temple scoop-and-scored 38y for TD. 17-14 Akron still led. Akron’s back up QB Irons who was perfect 12-for-12 in relief at Auburn threw a ball under pressure right to a Temple defender who returned it 3 yards for a pick-six. Temple scored 2 non-offensive TDs in :05 seconds...21-17 Temple lead and they never looked back scoring on 4 of their next 5 possessions. Akron would not get back into Temple territory until late 3rd Q, Zips SOD twice at T23 and T33 and got TD with under 3min left. 45-24 F. Temple had 422-362 (7.4-4.7) TY edge. RY were similar 177-171

Nebraska had 3 TDs called back by penalty on drives that resulted in no points (two punts and missed FG). Nebraska would miss 3 FGs and Buffalo missed 3 of 4 FGs. Huskers outgained them 527-359 (8.6-4.3).

Cincinnati trailed Murray St in the 2nd Q and was tied at 7-7 HT! Murray held the ball for 13:30 minutes in the 1st Q with UC running just 3 plays gaining 7 yards! Murray St lost 5 turnovers in the game and UC limited the Racers to just 37y in the 2nd H while Bearcats woke up with 5 TDs to win 42-7. TY were 391-242 (6.9-3.7).

Cal again led by 2 scores to start a game (O TD and D TD) and would lead 19-7 but TCU scored just before HT and then opened the 2nd H with another TD to take a 21-19 lead. Cal retook a 26-21 lead, but TCU scored back-to-back in the 4th Q to go up 34-26, Cal scored with 4min left (failed 2pt conv) and kicked off deep, TCU converted a couple 3rd downs and killed the clock. TCU had 31-16 FD edge and 498-442 TY (6.1-8.2). Frogs rushed for 264 (5.3) – Evans 183 (8.3) to Cal’s 133 (4.9).

Georgia scored on 73y, 89y and 61y long TD passes. In the 4th Q teams exchanged pick-six INTs. Was 35-0 HT and 56-7 F. Stetson Bennett started in place of JT Daniels. UGA outgained them 539-174 (9.0-3.3). UAB was 1-of-11 3rd down and completed just 8-of-17 passes.

Penn State and Ball St combined to kick 4 FGs from the RZ. Score was 24-6 HT, PSU added a 16y pick-six and would lead 37-6 before teams each scored TDs later in the 4th Q. PSU outgained them 493-295 (6.2-4.2) and outrushed them 240-69 (5.0-2.7).

Navy started a drive in Air Force territory following a 12y AF punt to set up their only points of the day. That drive was also the only FD Navy would get until the 4th Q! Mids led 3-0 early 2nd Q. Navy muffed a punt, but AF missed a FG. Navy punted 19y setting up AF up for their 7-3 HT lead. Navy would have a stretch of 7 of 8 three-and-out possessions! AF scored back-to-back TDs and also got a safety on a high punt snap out of the EZ. 23-3 F. AF outrushed them 176-36 (3.0-1.1) and TY 225-68 (3.3-1.5). Navy converted just one 3rd down all game. AF D got 5 sacks.

Bowling Green got a pick-six and a blk’d punt safety to lead 8-6 HT as BG D surprisingly controlled South Alabama in the 1st H. BG would lead 19-12 in the 4th Q. South Alabama went on a 15p 87y drive (had to convert 4th-and-8) to tie with under 2min left. BG fumbled at their own 33 and USA set up for and made a 44y game winning FG at the gun. USA did have a 21-10 FD edge, but TY were just 371-317 for the Jags (4.5-6.1). BG was held to 9 RY and converted only 2-of-12 3rd down. BG QB Matt McDonald career high 308y.

Alabama has scored atleast 30 points in 28 straight games, the longest streak in FBS. UCF has the record of 31 straight games. Bama wins 48-14 with a blk’d punt ret TD, Mercer got a 60y TD pass.

Trailing 10-27 and thanks to 135y on their final 2 drives of the game Iowa State scored 10 pts and outgained Iowa 339-173 and had a 21-11 FD edge but –4 in turnovers (including 3 on consecutive drives lead directly to 13 pts off little to no Iowa O) and inability to stay on the field (3-of-12) 3rd down doomed the Cyclones. Neither QB was very efficient, Petras 52%, Purdy 48%. Each team missed a FG.

Clemson led 35-0, SC State’s only points were set up by a fumble. 35-3 HT, 49-3 F. No 4th Q pts, SC St was SOD at the C04.

After setting a West Virginia record last week with 217 KO return yards, Winston Wright picked up where he left off running the opening KO back 90y for TD. WVU won 66-0 with a 542-95 TY edge.

Western Michigan had a 24-4 FD and 407-57 TY edge vs ILL St but only won 24-0 in a game that was just 14-0 HT. WM was SOD and fumbled in 1st H. ILL St only had one possession penetrate WM territory. Their other drive in WM territory started there by way of fumble.

Washington State scored 23 2nd Q points to lead 30-10 HT. WSt still had their starters in with 2min left 4th Q with a 4th-and-7 at the P13 in a 37-17 game they threw a TD pass. 44-17, but Portland St scored late. 44-24 F. TY were only 462-420. Portland St twice was SOD in the RZ. W ST converted two TOs into 10 points.

Charlotte QB Chris Reynolds became their all-time leading passer (5,469). 49ers ran for 306 yards.

UTSA won 54-0, their first shutout and largest MOV in program history while also allowing the fewest yards in school history (122). They scored two nonoffensive TDs as well.

A muffed Marshall punt set NC Central up at the M10 for their only TD of the game. MU led 30-7 HT, 44-10 F. MU had a 39-9 FD edge and 703-164 TY (7.0-2.7). MU threw two INTs deep in opp terr and also missed a FG, ended the game at the 18.

Houston scored on their first 3 possessions, led 17-0. 17-7 HT. A 4th Q blk’d punt and a 91y pick-six capped the scoring at 44-7. TY 393-212 (5.8-3.9). McCaffrey was just 9-19-86-1-3 while being sacked 4x.

UCF led 42-7 HT, won 63-14. UCF scored on 8 straight possessions at one point.

Baylor led 42-0 HT, won 66-7. They rushed for 419, finished with 714 TY! And they had the longest fumble return TD in school history, 97 yards.

Memphis and Arkansas State each finished with exactly 680 TY in the 55-50 game! Memphis YPP was nearly 10 yards! 9.7-6.9. Memphis rushed for 417 (7.1), ArkSt passed for 582. Memphis led by 2 scores often throughout but ArkSt was able to hang around and scored back-to-back TDs in the final 5min of the 4th Q, ended up with the ball last, got to midfield but a hailmary attempt fell incomplete. Role reversal, this week Hatcher started for A State, only throwing for 1 TD, Blackman came in 2nd H and threw for 4 TDs. Memphis Fr QB Seth Henigan continues to impress 22-33-417-5-0.

Mississippi State ret’d opening KO 100y. MSU would lead 7-0 after 1st Q despite NcSt having a 114-5 yardage edge! MSU went 3-and-out 3 straight to open while NcSt threw INT in EZ from the MS05 (RB throw), missed a 48y FG and then made a 45y FG a couple minutes into the 2nd Q. Tables turned and NcSt would only cross midfield on 1 of their next 7 possessions! The one that did ended in fumble. MSU took that for TD and led 24-3 late 4th Q before NcSt scored TD with 1min left. 24-10 F. NcSt had 337-316 (4.4-4.9) TY edge. Neither team could run. Both struggled on 3rd down. MSU D 4 sacks.
Steven F Austin led 13-7 HT! SFA’s first TD was an 18y pick-six. SFA took the lead following a muffed punt at the TT23...10-7.

SFA D got INT to preserve their HT lead. SFA had a 179-156 TY edge at the half. Texas Tech scored twice in the 2nd H to take a 21-13 lead 3rd Q. After a TT fumble, SFA would score, but 2pt no good...21-19. TT scored...28-19...SFA FG...28-22 mid 4th Q. SFA had the ball last and drove to the TT08, ultimately their 4th down pass was incomplete with a questionable no call PI. SFA had a 22-11 FD edge! And 374-364 TY (4.2-7.3). TT was –4 TO ratio.

After 35 1st H points in week 1, SMU managed only 7 against what was actually called a “stout” North Texas D. SMU threw INT from the NT39 on their opening drive and actually would not drive into NT terr again until late 1st H. SMU did find themselves at the NT08 following an INT, but Ponies fumbled it. SMU later would throw second INT in NT terr to make a total of 3 TOs lost in NT territory 1st H! NT had struggles of their own, kicking two FGs from the SM02 and SM05 and being SOD at SM34! A 62y TD pass gave SMU the 7-6 HT lead. SMU opened the 3rd Q with a 58y TD pass...14-6, but NT scored and missed 2pt...14-12. SMU went up 21-12 and then ripped a 85y run mid 4th Q to go up by 23. NT would be SOD 3 of their final 5 drives in SMU territory and also threw INT from the SM16. NT was 0-for-4 on 4th down and was in the RZ 5x and got ZERO TDs on those trips! SMU had slight 536-506 (8.4-5.3) TY edge.

App State – Miami was a defensive battle. Miami got a TD following an INT giving the Canes the ball at the A06 and got a safety on a botched punt. App ST would score TD off a 9p 69y drive while Miami’s 12p 76y drive ended in a 27y FG. Canes would lead 12-7, but then App St ret’d the ensuing KO 100y to lead 14-12! Miami would have a 35y FG blk’d before HT. Miami opened the 3rd Q with TD to lead 19-14. App ST had long drive for short FG...19-17. App ST punted from their EZ and gave Miami good field position, but Canes only managed a FG...22-17. App St took lead 23-22 2pt no good with 6min left. Miami responded with a 43y FG 2min left which ended up being the game winner. App was SOD at own 47. Miami had 375-326 (4.9-4.5) TY edge and rushed 175-127 (4.1-3.3). Teams were an identical 5-of-16 and 5-of-15 3rd down. Miami was in RZ 5x and got 2 TDs. App ST was in RZ 4x and got 2 TDs.

Arkansas outgained Texas 471-256 (7.1-4.0). Texas went 3-and-out on 5 of their first 7 drives! Ark did get 10 points following a blk’d punt (FG) and fumble recovery (1p 26y TD). Ark was in the RZ 6 times and only scored 2 TDs with 3 short FGs. Hogs ran for 333y on 47x for 7.1ypc!

New Mexico hit a big play to open the game and had a 7-0 lead 60 seconds into the game. NMSt responded with a FG, but UNM would extend lead 14-3. Next series NMSt QB Johnson was knocked out in the 1st Q. 14-6, NMSt used a double pass to score their first TD mid 2nd Q....14-13. UNM was SOD, but NMSt threw INT. UNM went up 21-13 then NMSt hit a 75y TD near the end of the 1st H. But in a half filled with penalties, a personal foul penalty on the Aggies helped UNM kick a FG right before HT....24-20. UNM was called for intentional grounding in the EZ...24-22. Later UNM got a long punt ret but had to settle for FG...27-22. NMSt kicked a FG early 4th...27-25. UNM got a 58y TD pass for some separation...34-25 with 12min left, which was the final. UNM had a 559-345 (6.7-5.1) TY edge. NMSt had –2 TO margin. Teams were an identical 4-of-15 and 4-of-14 3rd down. UNM was in the RZ 7x, got 3 TDs and 1 FG, they were SOD twice. UNM missed two 49y FGs. Johnson before injury was just 4-of-10 for 33y. His replacement was Juco Maldonado going 13-34-192-1-0 and led team in rushing with 46y. Terry Wilson 26-37-381-3-0. The teams combined for 19 penalties and nearly 200y.

FIU outgained Texas St 400-336 (5.6-4.5), but lost in part due to –3 TOs (3 fumbles all lost in TSt terr) and only scoring on 2 of 4 RZ trips (1 TD). TxSt would lead 10-0, but FIU came back for a 17-10 lead. TxSt tied and the game went to OT. In the top of the 1st OT, FIU was sacked and fumbled. TxSt needed just 2 plays to score and win the game. FIU D got 4 sacks.

Kentucky scored off long TD drives 3 of their first 4 possessions. They were about to make it 28-7 but fumbled into the EZ under 2min to go in the 1st H. Mizzou was able to take that for a TD...21-14 HT. UK had a 313-203 TY edge at HT. UM threw INT and UK got short field TD. 28-14. but Mizzou would keep it a one score game....28-21 and Tigers tied early 4th Q..28-28. UK went back up 35-28, then UK had a 37y FG blk’d 2min left. MU was SOD at the K45 to end the game. UK outgained them 519-398 (7.4-5.2). Rodriguez 27-206-3TD.

Vanderbilt only got into CSU terr on one of their first five drives and that one only reached the C42. CSU drove for TD to open then got a short field TD following a Vandy fumble. But the Rams also missed 2 FGs that could've put them up 20-0. Instead they led 14-0 with 2min to go in the 1st H. Vandy deflected a punt setting the Dores up at the V42 and they drove for a TD with just :47 left before HT giving them life. Then Vandy made a diving INT early in the 2nd H and Vandy drove 53y for a tying TD (converted 4th down on the drive)! Vandy took their very next possession 75y to actually lead 21-14! Several punts were exchanged until 6min left in the game, CSU would go on a 67y TD drive to tie with just 3min left. CSU was called for D PI and then targeting and Vandy quickly found themselves at the C35! Vandy got to the C20 and made the game winning FG with just :19 left! BYU snapped a 9 game losing streak vs Utah! Utah opened with an INT, a fumble and a 3-and-out on their first three drives, gaining just 53y on those possessions. BYU also went 3-and-out on their first two drives, but after recovering the fumble in Utah terr BYU made a FG, then drove 14p 72y for TD and a 10-0 lead. Utah would score and a good punt ret set them up at midfield but that drive ultimately ended SOD at the B07. BYU drove 11p 93y for a 16-7 HT lead! BYU then made it 23-7. Utah scored on back-to-back drives in the 4th Q. 23-17. BYU would kill 6min on a long drive and added a FG with 3min left...26-17. Utah's final possession was SOD near midfield. BYU had a 368-340 (4.8-6.7) TY edge. Utah was -2 TOs and Utes had an empty RZ possession. Utes were just 2-of-9 on 3rd down.

Arizona State threw an INT into the EZ from the RZ on their opening possession. UNLV would actually lead 3-0 and 10-7 with back-to-back Rebel 70y scoring drives! After having 145y on their first two drives, UNLV would have just a total of 10 TEN net yards the rest of the game! ASU would be SOD at the LV30, punted twice from LV terr and kicked a 22y FG from the LV04 after having a 1st-and-goal at the LV05 with Daniels still in the game 3min left. ASU outgained them 462-155 (6.1-3.0) including 287 RY (6.1).

Stanford took the first play of their second possession 87y for TD. USC went 3-and-out twice to open, in fact USC would go 3-and-out 5x in the game, half of their total possessions. Stanford built leads of 14-7, 14-10, 21-10, 21-13, 28-13, 35-13, 42-14! USC scored 2 TDs late 4th Q to make it look a little better than it was, but it was a game Stanford had total control of throughout. Before each team's final 2 possessions of the game, Stanford had a 366-264 TY edge! TY for the final game after USC garbage scores was 408-375 for SC. USC was trying to get back in the game trailing 13-21 after just kicking a RZ FG 3rd Q, they forced Stanford to punt but 3 plays later Tree got a pick-six (Kyu Blu) to end any comeback hope (USC went 3-and-out on their next 2 possessions immediately following the pick-six allowed). Tree QB Tanner McKee was the better QB in week 1 coming off the bench and got the start here...16-23-234-2-0. Tree had that 87y run and then only ran for 54y on 29 other carries. Avg was 4.7 with the 87y run in there. . Week 1 USC was only 1-for-4 scoring TDs in the RZ. This week they were better, but still just 3-for-5 TDs in RZ. Stanford was 4-for-4 TDs in the RZ. Stanford CB Kelly Kyu Blu shut down Drake London holding him to just 3rec-57y until London got a garbage score on an 11y catch late 4th Q.

Hawaii has had a rough start to the season, even in their win vs Portland St, the Warriors have shown in all 3 games so far they have problems. Those problems continued at Oregon State. Vs both PAC 12 opponents, Hawaii got off to slow starts. OSU built a 21-0 lead before UH found the EZ. UH opened the 3rd Q throwing back-to-back INTs which OSU converted into 7 pts. It was 31-7 when UH would convert a OSU fumble into 6 pts (2pt no good) and got as close as 31-20 before OSU got more separation 38-20. It was 45-27 in the final minutes of the game UH was driving for a garbage score (could've mattered for 2nd H spread), but on 4th-and-19 UH threw short over the middle and the receiver was tackled 1 yard short of keeping the drive alive. OSU had 558-454 TY edge (7.9-5.8) including 256-88 (6.1-3.0) RY. UH LB Darius Muasau was ejected for targeting 2nd H and will miss 1st H vs San Jose.
