So, with Rams and Vikings moved to Glendale....

I figure a separate thread is needed to cap these new developments...

Rams have familiarity with the stadium.

They lose some of the HFA.

This track can be slippery at times, right? I'm thinking of college games and the Kyler + others injuries.

Arizona is a transplant town, I'd assume a fair amount of Minnesota peeps?

Let's talk about these developments!

So much Rams love. I have to wonder how much of it comes from watching Darnold get owned by the Lions. The Rams are not the Lions.

I keep thinking about the Rams when they played the Eagles & Barkley ran wild.

Or when Allen picked them apart. Shakir/ Ty both had long td passes Jefferson/Addison/Aaron jones out of the backfield could def do the same.

After the Bills win the rams

-beat sf 12-6

-beat the Jets 19-9

-beat Zona 13-9

which one of these were the impressive win to make you think the Rams are hot?

I am not on the Vikings (yet). They scored 65 more pts than the Rams throughout the season and their D allowed 54 less pts.

As a whole I think the Vikings are the better all around team Detroit just owns them. Expecting the Rams to pressure Darnold the same way the Lions did I think may be flawed. The Lions had/have the luxury of Kirby back there, & Amik played one of the best games I have ever seen a corner play vs Jefferson. Ever. Rewatch the coverage he was unreal. I don't think the Rams have a corner that can come close to that performance. Amik is ranked 85th for corners, Darious williams ranked 122/Witherspoon ranks 107. Plus you have an elite wr in Jefferson who just got locked down. If the Rams get blitz happy there will be some long completions.

Maybe Darnold chokes and I am completely off base here but I don't think he's just bad now. Still has a run game and so many weapons he doesn't have to be a superhero. I have a heavy lean to the over as I think the Vikes D has shown some regression (especially vs good rbs) and Puka is a playmaker.

I was on the Rams previously but I think I will stay away after the move. Who knows how much of a distraction this will be for some players. The sudden change in travel plans, wondering if they will have a house left when they return etc.

Vikings are very good and deserved to be favored. I love McVay and think he’ll have a plan for Flores’ blitz stuff. Lots of quick throws, lots of Puka. I’d love to sit back and bet an Over but it’s a big number, rightfully so.

Normally I’d expect a ton of Vikings fans, maybe a bit less due to short travel window after last Sunday night game, not knowing their destination. I’d expect 50/50ish.

Puka Over props will be my top target.

It will be closer to 90/10 than 50/50.i honestly expected something like 70/30 Minny fans in LA. Hell a lot of people who live here from LA were Vikings fans and the Rams fans are more transplants from StL than LA....which comes full circle to diehard old school Cardinals fans. Talking real old school St Louis fans that still wear Phoenix Cardinals tee shirts.

Several Vikings bars in this city, I've never even heard of a Rams bar. Those bars will be empty Monday night because everyone will be at the game

Have to wonder if it even matters to them anymore. This game. With everything else going on.

I leaned Rams before, but have no interest in playing them now.

Weighted DVOA which favors the second half of the year more so than the full season, has the Rams as the better team FWIW

Edit: Also FWIW, the metrics have not mattered much as we know the public has had it's best year in decades.

Vikings might be the most overrated team heading into the playoffs in recent years. Rams manhandled them the 1st time. Best win of the year for Rams was beating the Bills, what was it for the Vikings? I think Minnesota are who they showed they were in their last game.

Appreciate the note.

Hearing Stafford’s wife and kids have the flu, 2 of his kids are in the hospital. How he doesn’t have it idk. Don’t think he’s going to be 100% physically or mentally.

Leaned Rams initially, but that's becasue I thought we would get a full circle divisional at Detroit. Then the fires happened, the venue changed, and the Redskins won...could still be full circle for the NFC ship, just a lot less likely.
What about a good ole NFL story?

Someone posted posted that here or Twidda Nation.

I saw that field being "rolled" into the stadium.

I'm assuming this is the regular field the Cardinals use? I mentioned this earlier but prior issues with slipping on this surface.

You're looking for a needle in a haystack. None of that matters in all due respect.

Tough game. Vikings will definitely have HFA though. I believe the Lions opponent fade in effect here for Vikings as well. Lot to like and dislike from both sides, probably just go with the over at some point live. Rams also won their game with Vikes earlier in season. Redskins avenged their loss to Bucs earlier in season. Similar situations being these teams don't often play each other.

I have absolutely NO FUCKING CLUE what to expect in this game.
Vikings looked atrocious last game
Rams offense has been bad last few weeks
Fires etc have to be a distraction for LAR
VIikings on the Lions last opponent fade
Stafford family sick.
Venue change.

My prediction is this will go 75 OTS, and somehow end a scoreless draw after Goodell calls in an air strike to put both teams, and more importantly the fans, out of their misery.

There is something to be said about the 8 Rams fans have a lot less misery to deal with than the thousands of Vikings fans regarding football. That's indisputable.

Between the Lions, Vikes, Brewers, Scarf....as a Cards fan I at least feel like there's so much good company

1947 Chicago Cardinals is the last time this organization won a 'ship and I was -28 years old

They were so damn close against the Steelers!

I went to the playoff games and the game against your team is top five in all time sporting events I've ever been to. The only others have been baseball games. Honestly I'm glad that going to a Super Bowl is so ludicrously expensive that I couldn't go. I have a few friends that went to Tampa. I always think that drive home from Chandler after the game was long, no talking, morbid, etc.....the flight home from Tampa after spending thousands had to be torture.

That’s awesome you were there. What a game. I think you guys were up pretty big at halftime but then we came back and might have taken the lead before losing. What a game to be at!

What's crazy is as bad a rap as Eagles fans get we all partied together after the game outside the stadium into the evening until we got kicked out.

I believe it. There’s definitely a large portion of asshole Eagles fans, but mostly we’re just super passionate about that damn team. 😂

Back to this game, I'm looking for opportunities

There will be some insanely lonely bartenders and servers at Vikings bars in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe and Chandler tonight because their entire client base will be at the game.

Still don't know the roof situation but the field will have Los Angeles painted in one endzone and Rams in the other. Obviously the logo will be at midfield.

It's 37 right now and walking outside requires a lot of layers for us locals but it's just cold in general. So I don't think the roof will be open tonight because it's supposed to be pretty cold. And I don't think roof info for football matters much but if they do open it....it will be very uncomfortable. 37 right now feels like 15 degrees to me.

A long long time ago but the Rams were so much slower than their opponent Cardinals in this same venue. It was one of the biggest beatdowns this season.

I give Minny a pass for that game last week. Night game in that stadium with crowd going wild. Detroit’s defense played like the ‘85 bears. That’s the most inspired I’ve seen a team play in a while. And I get it… not winning the division and having a home playoff game would have been a massive disappointment for Detroit. They wanted it more than Minny and they played like it.
