Sharks @ Golden Knights odds and info

LeRinkRat

Pretty much a regular
Sharks +140 (-1 1/2 +340) total 5 -120
VGK -150 (-1 1/2 +210) total 5 +105

Sharks Joe Thornton OUT

Martin Jones vs Marc-Andre Fleury in goal

Fleury allowed just 4 goals in the Kings series with two shutouts .0.65 Gaa & .977 save %
Jones also with just 4 goals against vs the Ducks with one shutout. 1.00 Gaa & .970 Save %

with two hot goalies and teams that tend to be "defense first", I think the bets are game total UNDER 5 +105 and the overtime? YES +280 prop @ William-Hill

note: BOTH teams obviously SWEPT their 1st round matches. I think one OR the other could "get on a roll" and sweep OR win in 5 games THIS series. here are the "exacta" odds from William-Hill / Westgate best odds

Sharks in 4 = +1400 / +1200
Sharks in 5 = +750 / +700
Sharks in 6 = +450 / +450
Sharks in 7 = +550 / +600
VGK in 4 = +850 / +1000
VGK in 5 = +450 / +450
VGK in 6 = +400 / +450
VGK in 7 = +350 / +400

a couple of add on props @ Westgate. "to score the first goal of the game" (bet/return)

Evander Kane 8-1 (12.50/112.50)
Logan Couture 8-1 (12.50/112.50)
Thomas Hertl 15-1 (7/112)
Marcus Sorensen 50-1 (2/102)

Kane, Hertl and Sorensen the top Sharks scorers in the Ducks series each with 3 goals. Couture with 2. Kane with the first goal game one. Couture the first goal in game three. Sorensen the first goal game four and 2nd goal in game two after Ducks Jakob Silfverberg

well THAT was "Wile E Coyote, Super Genius" by me. a 4-0 VGK 1st period for a 7-0 VGK FINAL

I took SJ & Under so I'm right there with you. I just grabbed Vegas -140 for the series. Someone at Bovada is asleep at the wheel & my wager will likely get rejected but worth trying.

WHY the VGK "Could - Go - All - The - Way" (to paraphrase the great Howard Cosell)

1) goaltending. Marc-Andre Fleury with THREE shutouts in FIVE games so far these playoff. he has only allowed THREE goals on 163 SOG's in those 5 games for a 0.54 Gaa and .982 save %. his "to win the Conn Smythe Trophy" odds are down to 5-1 the favorite among all playoff players. Predators goalie Pekka Rinne the 2nd favorite @ 8-1 along with Penguins captain Sidney Crosby

2) team speed. BOTH the LA Kings AND San Jose Sharks just could NOT keep up with the VGK forwards in their games played. they beat their opponent to open pucks most of the time and their "transition" when they get the puck is almost like a basketball team on a fast break

3) work ethic. during the regular season opposing coach's all said the same thing about the VGK. "hardest working team we have seen". coach Gerard Gallant is able to roll all four lines with NOT a lot of difference and their forecheck is among the BEST in the league. they rarely get out shot in a game

4) home ice advantage. the team seems to feed off the "energy" from the T-Mobile "Fortress" crowd which is one of THE loudest in the league. the only arena's that even come close are Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg and
Bridgestone Arena in Nashville

btw, THE most NERVOUS people about the VGK success in Las Vegas ??? SPORTSBOOK MANAGERS. I have talked to Westgate manager Jay Kornegay AND South Point oddsmaker Jimmy Vaccaro and BOTH stated their liability IF the VGK were to WIN the Western Conference AND especially the Stanley Cup is in the MILLIONS from the thousands of pre-season or early season high odds $20, $50 or $100 "rooting bets" placed. they already TOOK a big "hit" on the VGK "to win the Pacific Division" prop
