To start September, should be a good month for soccer, World Cup Qaulifying this weekend also, no bullshit friendlies. Hopefully I wont get burned like that Andorra game :hang:

WC qualifier's are over for September and will be back 30 days from now. Few thoughts I had about this week.

-First of all, Tim Howard looks great, I know Guatemala,Cuba, and Trinidad and Tobago isnt exactly world class talent (even though there all not terrible). I think the fact that we schedule all those big time names for friendlies earlier in the summer might have helped us a lot, or I hope anyway.
-In South America Brazil and Argentina both didnt look great. Argentina got 2 draws, thought they would get at least a win against Urugauy. Brazil looked good against Chile, I actually watched that game, but tonight against Bolivia, at home, I meant you gotta get the win at home, especially when they are playing with 10 men almost the entire game.
-In Europe, England suprised me against Croatia, but good for them, I like when England wins, they looked bad against Andorra from what I've gathered. France still sucks. Italy is average, and Germany draws against Finland at home, and Portugal loses outright to Denmark? Ill be damned.

Anyway, back to club games.

I think they deserved to win and at worst a draw. Even the announcers said that Madrid won the game because they were lucky. And at one point one of the announcer said I cant believe that Zenit hasnt gotten the eqaulizer in. I was very dissapiointed. Of course luck sometimes has to do with it, but I was real dissapointed.
