That Miss State match for Bama seems weird. But these all get re-visited in 4 years, I think that's the timeframe.

Separate note - In the last 6 games that Bama has beaten Georgia the latter has been the higher ranked team. Nice trend for the Tide.

LSU is in for a real game. Johnson has been a nice surprise at RB in limited time and will likely get most of the carries given the injuries.
Harlem Berry also may get some looks, but honestly this game is on Nuss. LSU has the defense now, you’re a Heisman candidate you gotta win this one. I see +1.5 no way line flips, or goes EV?

I’ll dog more this week in Oxford see the injuries etc. Rebs sure beat the shit outta Tulane. Was disappointed in the offense for sure there.

How about the battle of the 4-0 Dores vs Mizzou?!

Tuscaloosa and Starkville are the closest campuses in the SEC, and I believe Miss St is the conference opponent Alabama has played the most times in their history

This is the 5th straight time UGA has been favored over Alabama. The Tide is 3-1 straight up

First team to 27 or so in Oxford should win it. LSU’s OL is still a major work in progress and swing man DJ Chester, who got reps at RT in place of the starter Weston Davis Saturday, is out for the 1H after being called for targeting on a FG return. It looks like they’re just trying to make it to the bye week with that group and Nussmeier.

I’m glad LSU is keeping Ole Miss as one of the permanents but not crazy about the other two.

Should be a fun weekend.

Who would you like for the other 2?

Vandy is rolling people....don't think Utah St gets in the way of that.....Mizzou line is pretty steep coming off a tough game vs SC with Bama & Auburn coming up after a bye week.....don't see how they don't shut it down 2nd half and just run it up the middle and get out with a W....Not sure how UMass scores more than 7 though.....

I assumed we would get one of those two but would have preferred having at least one more of the original members. The “rivalry” with those two always felt forced when each joined the conference, even though LSU-A&M met annually for two stretches from the 60’s to 90’s

I know it may not have worked with everyone else but any one of Florida, Auburn, Alabama, or even State would have been more natural. LSU has played State more than anyone and they had played like 80 straight years until last season.

Jam Miller and Tim Keenan are both expected to play/start against UGA. It was definitely trending this way, but nice to have confirmation. Not sure if either will be on a snap count, but they are both greatly needed to get our run offense and defense to the next level

I was very interested in Arkansas before they lost to Memphis. After getting kicked in the nuts two weeks in a row and with Pittman being a dead man walking, I don't know if they get off the mat. Maybe they rally for him. Tough to handicap their mental state at this point.

Man I was thinking Arkansas gets thumped here. I do t trust their defense at all. N Dame hasn’t played defense either but I just think Arky will get mowed down. I’ll have to dig deeper on that one. GL!!
I definitely think the ND offense can hum a bit vs that defense myself. Although I haven't capped Arky O vs ND D as of yet.

Did I see somewhere that Petrino is already angling for the head coaching job there?

First time for Smart to have Bama in Athens. Did not know as you think of them playing so much recently but lots of Atlanta in there.

LSU will have to magically click on offense to win this one Im afraid. The defense has had a heavy load to carry thus far.
I could be off but it feels like the play calling is awful given the personnel. I try so hard to ignore it but Kelly seems more like Les Miles with every game. For 10 million a year I don't care to hear about you having to answer questions about a poor offense.

If the defense can force turnovers and the slant or some other completable pass is reintroduced to a fledgling offense we have a shot. I’m not losing my money to see it though.

Arkansas offense is exciting. Ball security is a problem. The defense is awful though.

Bama Georgia should be fun to watch. Neither team seems up to their standard as of yet. Should be a good one.

Alot will be determined this weekend.
Good luck to all.

I heard something regarding Nussmeier's health? Is it true that he has been playing with a hip injury or abdominal type injury that is hindering his mobility? Possibly on VSIN?

There were rumors last week but outside of slight limp after a tackle I didn't see anything to indicate it. He ran for about 20 yards later in the game and celebrated towards the crowd which also made it seem like he was fine. Not saying he isnt banged up he just hasnt lit it up like a supposed potential Heisman candidate should against weak teams like La Tech and SELA (a very small in state school). I have high expectations I can admit that but the offense has underwhelmed. Maybe Im stuck on the LA Tech performance. To not score 30 on that team is pitiful. The line was -38.5 if I remember correctly. The play calling is just abysmal. You have weapons and matchups to exploit and you run it up the middle 30 times into the back of OL men. Would love for this to be an awful take when reviewed Sunday morning. The defense on the other hand is back after a 6 year hiatus. Huge game. Cant wait.

On a peripheral note, Sean Alexander and his wife expecting their 14th child. Leaving Philip Rivers in the dust.

No word on whether they plan to generate an entire offense and defense.

I want to back Arkansas, but after last week I'm hesitant and all value has been taken from the line IMO now that it's at 3.5. Same for the over. Pass for now

Seems like a popular play, but I'm on Ole Miss ML. I also have some interest in the under

Not sure what to do with AU/aTm. I don't think AU will win, but I do think they can keep it close if it's a lower scoring game, which I think it will be. I'm leaning under

No way I'm getting on the opposite side of Vandy right now. They do have a road trip to Tuscaloosa next week, but even with the look ahead I'm not betting against them

No clue on UK/SC. Pass

Tennessee line is a little fishy to me. Bulldogs or nothing for me.

Another fishy line in Athens. If what I saw on Twitter is to be believed, over 80% of bets and money are on UGA, yet the line has gone down. The road difficulties for Alabama cannot be ignored, same with their inability to establish any kind of effective run game this season. Getting Jam Miller back is clearly a good thing, but I don't think this is the game where you "fix" something like that. So to that end, Alabama is going to have to pass it a lot to have a chance to win. That is a good thing since it is what they do best. And similar to last year, I think they've been holding back on schemes, personnel groupings, etc for this game. The vanilla gameplan cost them dearly against FSU, as did the lack of effort, but I don't think either of those two things will be a problem tonight. On the UGA side, they are clearly not the dominant force they have been in years past. No real pass rush to speak of, less than stellar play on the OL, especially at RT where their starter has been ruled out, and the secondary has been gettable. I think Gunnar Stockton has been better than most thought and they have more capable pass catchers at WR than usual. Oddly enough they haven't used their TEs as much. I think that changes tonight. Alabama's secondary has been really good so far, but the LBs have been up and down, especially when it comes to being in the right place or maintaining eye discipline. Overall, I think this is a pretty even matchup, with Alabama having an advantage on paper. But I don't think we can overstate the importance of HFA in this one, and everyone involved with UGA wants this one badly. I am on the over pretty heavy because I think both teams get in the 30s. I don't think Alabama will win, but it wouldn't surprise me. I'm going to have to see a better effort on the road before I can feel good about beating a pretty good UGA team at home. I think Alabama will play well and at least look like a potential playoff team. If you like props, I would certainly look into Ty Simpson overs in attempts and yards

GA only 3 sacks on the year, 125th in pass rush. Simpson has been great w clean pocket tremendously accurate. Alabama needs to get some pressure on Stockton, and agree w your comment that GA secondary can be had. RTR.

I bet UGA's pass rush looks better tonight since the Alabama OL has been pretty shaky at times too. I think Alabama's best chance is to turn it into a track meet, similar to last year. I don't think either team will spot the other 28 points, but if Alabama can limit UGA's run game, the game script favors Bama

Where are all the delusional LSU fans? Zebras tried EXTREMELY hard to get you the win with 14 penalties at least of which 4 or 5 were phantom calls. And still could not get it done.

Should Trinidad Chambliss be mentioned in the Heisman conversation? Hebstreit and Saban went on and on about the elite LSU defense and Chambliss had nearly 400 total yards of offense again.

It was disappointing to say the least. But lets not pretend Lane Kiffin isnt one of the best offensive minds in college football. The lack of offense against an average at best defense is the reason LSU lost.
At the end of the year this will likely be one of Ole Miss lowest scoring games. But yes LSUs defense underperformed in a big game on the road. Not to say we don’t rank way up there with delusional fans.

Old news, but I just came across the fact that Calzada isn't UK's QB, did he get benched or hurt?

Mentioned in the in game thread that I couldn’t believe they’re leaving Nussmeier in when he’s clearly not healthy and it’s severely limiting the offense, which is already dealing with OL and running game issues.
