SEC Week 4 Discussion

My Cats still have issues on the OLine. I don’t see us being able to sustain drives and keeping opposing offenses from Ole Miss, Tennessee, and certainly not Georgia off the field. Unless we grow up very quickly I see is finishing the regular season with 3 SEC losses…I think we can handle Miss St at home along with anyone else on our schedule. JMHO….

Is it just me or should the Arkansas A&M game be labeled the fraud bowl? No way could I back Arkansas but A&M doesnt inspire confidence either. Should be an informative week in the SEC.

Finley “might be out” for MO with non throwing shoulder injury. Calzada or true freshman Geriner join the QB carousel? Who knows…

I was looking at the under. This game is of high interest to me as an Alabama fan, given these are the next 2 opponents

2023 SEC Schedules were released yesterday, and boy are y'all gonna have a field day with these non-cons. Alabama playing AT South Florida is unusual, though it is part of a 2 for 1. Texas makes the trip to Tuscaloosa week 2. Florida makes the return trip to Utah. LSU plays the "away" neutral site against FSU. Aggies go to Miami. Other than that, it's pretty bad to be honest. Worse than usual. UGA should have a marquee game with where they are in the college football landscape, not sure what happened with that schedule

I don’t think Arkansas frauds in the slightest. Maybe they not one the 10 best teams but they are undoubtedly a top 15-20 team imo. Odem does a fantastic job scheming up defensive game plans, I think he awful at halftime adjustments or countering the opposing team adjustments but don’t think that be a issue here since AM isn’t gonna beat anyone thru the air. Maybe I’m crazy cause I don’t understand how Aggies favs here? Arky easily the better team imo and this a neutral site game isn’t it?

I didn't realize this was a neutral site game, though I should've known that. In that case, I make Ark -2. I agree that I can't understand aTm being favored, other than preseason ranking

I didn’t think LSU’s was that bad. Another instate HBCU and a service school(Army).

Don’t they always play in Arlington? Or have before at least I know, maybe prior to Pay N Em
Joining $EC?

Correct me after this week but Ive yet to be impressed by the Arkansas defense. They have (at this point) the better offense but I wouldnt bet my worst enemies money on the Hogs against any decent defensive team. Thats why they play the games. I do like Pittman as a head coach so maybe theyll find a way to expose A@M. As a fan, Ill be rooting hard for Arkansas.
Frick A@M.

Arky defensive injuries (esp Catalon) + lack of dominant NT (Ridgeway from last year gone) mean that Odom doesn't have nearly the flexibility he had to show different looks and drop 8 like he did last year when they bent but didn't break their way to a decent defensive season. They have some pretty green guys getting reps at DB lately and it shows (though may not show up against A&M this weekend because Jimbo's offense always has to compete against the opponent as well as Jimbo). Bama and Mississippi State both could have field days throwing against the Hogs in the coming weeks.

Historically, through multiple coaching staffs the Hogs get much better as the season goes along. The highlight of the 2023 schedule to me was seeing the traditional LSU end of the season matchup abolished with a September meeting on the books for next year. I’ve let them ruin far too many Thanksgiving weekends over the years.

P.S. I would rather lose 5 times to the Hogs for every 1 loss to Dumbo and the Faggies. 7 legitimate overtimes my ass!

Rehab for overpaid underachieving cheaters that pay for their very limited accomplishments? My apologies I forgot we had Texas 8&4 fans hanging around these parts.

I’m kidding Press. Ill be civil. This thread is important and doesnt deserve to be derailed. As a young kid, A&M owned my Tigers and it was always the season opener and it hurt my little feelings. You guys are the pep rally champions.

LMAO. I remember them well as noted above. We can review footage of that shirt printing debacle yall hang your hat off of though.

Back on topic. If A&M can provide the less than mobile Maximum Johnson clean time in the pocket I could see A&M winning this game by DD. Jefferson is the Hogs only hope IMO. He could certainly alter the outcome with a heroic effort.

JJimbo should have played the fish, that's what many of us want to see.
THink Haynes would be the better qb vs madmax, but not only if he could do the reads quicker. With the Oline probs, fast feet would be nice to have. Guess Max can stand there and take it on the chin before release.

If the line keeps steaming up I may have to go back to the well on an Ole Miss Under. The difference between perception and reality has been pronounced for almost a year now. I’m a little concerned that Tulsa will push the pace, but I don’t see them getting in to the 30s. That leaves a lot of work for an Ole Miss attack which has been heavily reliant on the ground game.

Yea I’ve watched some of their games and agree with y’all. It will be a hyped up atmosphere.
What’s the ticket situation? Aggies grabbed most?

But TAMU might not be the team to put it on em though, either.
Real big crootin game

Didn’t know where else to put this. Obviously idiots in the thread with sour grapes but Indidnt know this Hawaii rule regarding scheduling

can't read posts without a log in - Hawaii rule? NCAA would allow nonconference teams to play a 13th game (extra home game) to recoup travel expenses of the Hawaii trip. Not every school did it. Is that it?

If they play a team that schedules Hawaii

Hence Duquesne for Noles to open

JOX radio just reported that Calzada is having season ending shoulder surgery and will miss the rest of the season. So Ashford and the true freshman are last two standing.
Heard TJ Finley's dad went on the radio today. I haven't listened to it, but I hear it isn't good

Dude, especially 2nd halves. For 2 years now I feel like Odem has a real good plan coming in, I feel great about my under, then teams adjust at half and light them the hell up in the 2nd!! Obviously A&M not doing that (I don’t think), but agree about messy and bama.

It REALLY bothers me when players parents get involved in the media and or harass the coaching staffs midseason. You can transfer so easily. Finley already transferred MAYBE the SEC isnt the place for your son. I realize TJ was in 2 shitty locations but was forced to go to neither. If you took money to go to those places maybe you are the problem. Your son will only be negatively affected by your continued muddling with the outcomes he encounters. Let the kid become a man and STFU. Your time is over Pops. Sit back and let what happens happen. Drives me crazy!

As an unbiased(lmao) observer, I must say the landing on Ewers did look a little intentional no matter what angle or lense you viewed if through. Just my opinion.

hmm one year probation
Seriously? Win something…..anything and you too can find out what happens when you achieve success. One can always dream. Fun stat of the day……. IOWA has more redzone trips than A&M. 4 versus 3. I didnt confirm that BUT if factual that is M BEAR A SING. Keep PRESSing!

my apologies if you were somehow triggerd by my observation

It shouldn’t have been a penalty. And honestly should’ve been intentional grounding on Ewers. Only reason Texas scored a TD that day was because the refs gifted them that 1st and goal. And if that was roughing, I’d like an explanation of how what their defense did to Bryce all day was any different

Conference games I’m on today:

AU/Mizzou under
UF/UT under
UGA/Kent st under, also UGA TT under
Ark/aTm over
Alabama 1h TT over

If you’re into props, I’d look at Bryce young passing overs. You could see last week we were pushing it on deep throws, but game script got kinda sideways with the defensive and special teams scores. Saban knows we need to have a better vertical passing game moving forward, so I expect there to be an emphasis on it today, even late if Alabama has a healthy lead
