That vandy SC game should be a fun one

I imagine Vandy will be a popular side

Not for me.

Unrelated, was talking to a couple friends today at work after watching Manning grimace after a couple of throws on Saturday. His throwing motion looks different, all too often, than it did last season. Last season the release was smooth and fluid. This season there's lots of sidearm stuff. Sarkisian was asked in his presser today if Manning was injured as it looked like he was uncomfortable after several throws. Valid question. Sarkisian went un-Sarkisian on the reporter, sort of undressed him. Totally out of character. Something just seems a little off / weird all around.

Kinda leaning this way also, a little gun shy
Consistency has not been a hallmark of the De Boer era, so I understand anyone who is gun shy here. Wisconsin appears to be a pretty bad matchup, and if Alabama plays with the intensity they did against ULM, I think it's a pretty stress-free cover. Of note, there is a decent chance that Alabama gets starting NT Tim Keenan back, as well as starting RB Jam Miller. Both were sorely missed against FSU, particularly Keenan. Miller was reportedly having a great camp before dislocating his collarbone in the last scrimmage. I'm sure they will both be on a limited snap count if they return, but just having them back would be a big boost

I had an eye on the score, but that was about it. I turned it on right when Miss St hit their game winning play. Looked like an egregious breakdown on defense by ASU, either the play call, the execution or both.

Kirby owns Huepel and UGA has owned this series lately. But if not this year, Tennessee, it's not gonna happen ever.

Vols have had NO Sacks vs Jorga in 3 years
Vols have NOT had a Passing TD in 3 years vs Jorga

OL Davis Sanders isn’t expected to play. If he does it will be as a sub/ spell someone. He hasn’t practiced much. No way you throw him in there for his 1st LIVE action vs Jorga.

Jorga is young and not as deep as they normally are. They are still the more talented team.
Vols have closed the gap on the amount of athletes they put on the field compared to Jorga …… is it enough?

Aguilar has a tendency to turn the ball over. We haven’t seen it yet in a Tennessee uniform but there were plenty during preseason scrimmages.
2023 at Appy St he threw 10 INTs
2024 at Appy St he threw 14 INTs

Vols do have a stable of RBs this year
DeSean Bishop, Star Thomas, Peyton Lewis that can provide a change of pace but this game is going to be decided in the trenches and the middle of the field.

Bobo has been calling plays passing between the #s and owning that area of the field.
Vols DBs & Safeties are going to be the next thing to watch.

I expect Boo Carter’s named to be called more on Saturday.

Special Teams , got to win that area of the game if Vols can win.

Do you know if the plan is for Williams to play as normal. Was he cleared last week but he was kept out due to their opponent?
I think he’ll play his normal workload. I’m not sure if he could’ve played last week. I don’t remember any update other than he was in the concussion protocol and wouldn’t play. There are some who believe he wasn’t 100% against FSU, so that may have played into the decision to sit him last week too.

The other two starters are not expected to play today

I thought Kiffin would go run heavy and play keepaway…but then Arkansas’ defense happened.
I thought Chambliss looked really good throwing the ball. I know Arkansas isn’t an elite defense but honestly I don’t think Kentucky is either and Simmons did not look great against them. Chambliss is obviously a better more natural runner than Simmons. Regardless of the ankle injury, I think Chambliss may give us a better chance to beat LSU than even a fully healthy Simmons. So tired of the national media hyping Nussmeier. The kid has been average at best so far this year. No way he should be a Heisman candidate. LSU defense is the reason they are 3-0 not an immobile and sometimes inaccurate Nussmeier.

And who would have seen this coming from the LSU defense?

Appreciate your ole miss thoughts always.

I think the offensive ceiling is significantly lower with Chambliss, but the floor may be higher.
