Head of Alabama Department of Decision-Making
Week 3 SEC games:

aTm vs ULL
Tennessee @ UF
AU vs Mercer
Mizzou vs Purdue
Alabama vs Colorado St
LSU @ Miss St
UGA vs Samford
Vandy vs Kansas St
UK @ SCAR
Ole Miss @ California

I was at a bachelor party last weekend, so didn't see much football at all. Was at a bar for the big night games, so I did see bits and pieces of those. Have done a little bit of reading about the games, but am way behind for the upcoming week. I think I read that they may be moving the UT @ UF game, maybe to Atlanta? Will post some thoughts later on, but will rely on you badasses to help fill in the gaps.

BTW, there are way too many people in Nashville.

I've heard a couple thing on Vols Fla here. I heard the game could be moved to Atlanta. Benz stadium has a soccer gm so Turner field is an option. Panthers play at home on Sunday Charlotte is out.

Playing @ Aub is an option.

It has been suggested playing in Knoxville on Sat and Florida would get the next 2 home games in the series.

If they can get power back on in Gainesville it will be there but CBS has already stated that the feed may not be up to snuff, if it's played at the Swamp at this moment

A decision should be made in the next day

Stay Tuned

gators is an auto bet for me after losing every Peyton game supporting Tenny. I finally switched sides. But that O is so ugly.
Under will be a play.

Hoping that UT/UF isn't moved I have two outstanding bets in that game and am already really tired of weather cancelling good bets I'm making.

I didn't get to see much either. Prob won't be able to get to much either.

I've got Miss St +11 and Ole Miss -3.5 from GOY bets. Like both.

Got UF +8.5 and Under 56, K State/Vandy Under 50.5. Think there may be some scoring in College Station but wouldn't bet it until I knew that Mond was on the pine for the game. He isn't ready and I have serious concerns if he ever will be.

@JimmyHyams: SECs Greg Sankey most recent comment says UF working with local officials to assess damage & see if UF has security and officials to host
One big concern is making sure Gainesville has enough power to host the 40-50,000 folks that go to Gainesville to watch Gators play
If power restored, game expected to be in Gainesville

Here are the lines for the games.

aTm (-23) vs ULL
Tennessee (+5.5) @ UF
AU vs Mercer
Mizzou (-7.5) vs Purdue
Alabama (-28.5) vs Colorado St
LSU (-7) @ Miss St
UGA vs Samford
Vandy (+3.5) vs Kansas St
UK (+6) @ SCAR
Ole Miss (-3.5) @ California

On quick glance, I think I like Tennessee, Purdue, Miss St, Vanderbilt and S Carolina. No way I touch aTm right now. Who knows what's going on there. I don't have a line available yet, but I think that AU is going to score as many points as possible against Mercer. Their defense may have a hangover, but I bet that offense will do everything it can to get on track. Fully expect letdown for UGA, so will keep an eye on that line too. And I seem to recall them snoozing through these games in the recent past. I feel like everyone is on Miss St this weekend, kind of like how everyone was on Stanford last week. Still unsure of what LSU is this season. I doubt I'll have anything on the UF-UT game, too much going on outside the actual game to get a feel for it. Intrigued by the Vandy game. I know they don't traditionally have much of a HFA, but I feel like this game should be closer to PK or Vandy -1. No opinion on Ole Miss. Haven't seen a snap of theirs, but looks like they are what we thought they are, potent offense, bad defense. Overs will always be worth a look with them. COI is meeting this week, probably good that the football team is getting out of town

Auburn is 43.5 which I think is nuts. While Mercer is certainly outclassed they're a pretty hard nosed team and do have a badass kick returner. It will be hard for Mercer to post many points, but still

Posted record: 13-7-2

Week 3 so far

Vanderbilt +3.5
S Carolina -6
Louisville +3
Purdue +7.5
Miss St +7

@JimmyHyams: BREAKING NEWS: Source: UT will play Saturday at Gainesville at 3:30 pm on CBS.

Miz/Purdue U78.5
Mizzou offense only can score vs awful defenses. Lock completed 14/32 last week. Last year he prob only completed bout 52% in conference play but torched eastern Michigan, del st, mtsu to post deceiving numbers. It appears they have coached him not to take hits as he never scrambles and there are zero designed runs for him. He's not accurate enough to not have the defense think about at least the possibility of scrambles. They don't convert third downs. Receivers can't catch. Defense looked good against SC. They gave up one td when sc started on their side of field. They had kickoff return, two tds off turnovers(from miz 25&40). The books didn't learn anything when last weeks game went under by 30 points

a trash D on the road at Cal may not be a good recipe for a victory...especially with the Tide on deck for Ole Miss. I've been leaning Cal at home plus the points and maybe even a ML play on Cal. South Alabama and Tenny-Martin don't give us much, other than they hung 47 and 45 and gave up 27 and 23. Anyone got any insight on this Ole Miss team?

On Ole Miss/Cal, I think the last team with the ball wins. I don't see how it stays under 72. Ole Miss' DL could give Cal's OL trouble, but I assume that Cal's offense can negate that advantage with quick hitters. Ole Miss' LBs are the worst in the SEC. They would be bottom third in the Sun Belt, CUSA, etc. Ole Miss' secondary is average, but they haven't really been tested yet. I don't think Cal stops Ole Miss very often. I think there's value in situational capping, but I wouldn't make too much of the Alabama game being next for Ole Miss. This year isn't like '14, '15, and '16 for Ole Miss. This Ole Miss team isn't good enough to take teams like Cal for granted. That doesn't mean that they will win, but if they lose it won't have anything to do with looking ahead to Bama.

State vs. LSU is interesting. Mullen vs. O is a complete mismatch. Fortunately for LSU, the match up is actually between Canada and Aranda and Mullen and Grantham, and I think that favors LSU. LSU is better at every position other than QB and DT. I think some of State's defensive improvement is fool's gold, but I'm not sure that I want to back Etling against a very aggressive defense in what will be a loud environment, and I doubt that Canada wants to lean on him either.

I think it boils down to whether State can limit Guice's effectiveness, and whether Fitzgerald can get anything going on the ground against LSU.

BTW, there are way too many people in Nashville.

I'll be in Nashville this weekend for the KSU game! Shit ton of KSU fans going, more KSU fans than Vandy in stadium this week

Hate to disagree but I think Missouri destroys Purdue and scores a ton of points in the process. MTSU defense is > Purdue defense fwiw.

I say the same thing EVERY morning.

Is this your 1st time visiting Nashville? The stadium is like a High School stadium fyi

Yea, the whole play on LSU is pay a rah-rah homeboy and good recruiting guy less money so he can pay his off and def COs a shit pile....we will see if it works.
If Canada is Aranda like....and the "holy shit I get my system with THESE guys!?"
It will be alllllllllll good

Was there last weekend for a bachelor party. Love the city, but over the last few years it seems as if the amount of people there has quadrupled. Or maybe I'm just getting old and have no tolerance for being shoulder to shoulder in some shitty bar

It has quadrupled. Traffic suxs. It's the new Atlanta

104.5 102.5 & 94.9 are the sports radio stations here in Nashville. You'll get good pre game talk on them Gems & aplous

Scary has some stats and numbers that cannot be overlooked

they are winning, but dig deeper and see how......

You know way more bout NCAA than me so bummed to hear from betting perspective. Guess happy as a mizzou fan but man watching them I don't see them destroying anyone w a pulse. Sure they outgained scary but Bentley missed several guys running wide open in that game, the defense is just bad imo.

total is almost 80 pts. The defense can yield a few here. Purdue cannot match up on defense in this one.

Sometimes they stop themselves, lol.. damn qb inconsistent when not facing teams they don't simply overwhelm with that up tempo crap.. they make it so hard for their d cause they don't take up much clock on offense..

I havnt really seen Purdue other than little of the ville game, hard to really figure out much about a teams run defense against Jackson, little different than facing regular run game. Imo if you stop mizzou rushing attack you have a good chance slowing them down.

Jeff Brohm getting points vs. Barry Odom and that Missouri defense?? Yikes! Much respect to you guys but I think it's a huge mismatch. I'll take the points thank you very much!

:cheers3:

I don't think they are stopping the mizzou run game. Crockett is is one of the best backs in the country. I think that's the difference in this game. Despite mizzou s inefficiencies in the passing vs non cupcakes, they can lean on the run. I'm not laying the points but not taking either. I got a good number on the under.

My constant need to overrate the SEC knows no bounds.

You seriously had me worried vk cause I respect your opinion on ncaa football more than my own for the most part as I really don't follow many teams that close.. mizzou just happens to be one I do and they are bad, don't think this coach was a good hire at all.
