SC Gamecocks QB tackled by ref

That is hysterical, looks like he just dropped his shoulder down and gave him a shot.

Head ref in background looking and Line judge comes in and spots the ball, Umpire layed the wood to make sure no first down

ESPN ran this tonight on both PTI and Sportscenter. SEC says they will take no action, but ESPN noted this ref was a former LB at KY, and that he sizes the QB up as he comes at him, squares his shoulders and then stares him down afterwards. Complete joke IMHO.

I don't understand how this ref still has a job. He tackled the fuckin guy. Hell, they make commercials about that (Buffalo Wild Wings), because it's so unreal that it should never happen. I'm baffled.

SEC Speed? Try an Extra Defender

No wonder Southeastern Conference defenses have been the rage this season. Check out these video frames sent to us by reader Jon. Louisiana State is caught with a 12th defender on the field Saturday night against South Carolina, but it somehow went unnoticed by the officials. Video of the play is at the bottom.

Update: Joe Person of the Columbia State reports that the Wilbur Hackett Jr., the umpire involved in the play, was a three-year starter at linebacker for Kentucky in the late-1960s.
