Saturday's sharp bets with Handy

handy

Pretty much a regular
I will be short and simple.

I believe the Wizards will be a sharp bet vs. LAC tonight.

Also think Memphis will run Ohio State out of the gym. It will be ugly.

UCLA will beat Kansas in a defensive dog fight.

The rest of the NBA is shit.

Be careful laying points with Miami and Utah. The Heat are over rated and oddsmakers have recently adjusted their numbers because of the Heat's winning ways. Prior to last weekend the Heat were laying short numbers at home and that's no longer the case. I think that train has left town. Miami had covered 9 of their last 11 home games until Orlando beat them last Sunday. Of course Orlando was my Handyland special. The moment the oddsmakers bumped up their number the Heat went down in flames.

The Jazz may have hit the wall. I have no idea but they simply mailed it in last night vs. LAC. They played with no heart. LAC isn't a great team and laying points with them has proven to be a prescription for a disaster. I wouldn't even think of laying points with LAC.

I will give you one more sharp bit of advice. Saturday is a very short sucky gambling card unless you're a hockey player. Be careful, don't force bets just to make them as that method usually turns up red.

Did any of you hear that Pete Rose didn't bet on all the games the Reds played? I heard he didn't bet on them when Mario Sota and (Bill??) Gullickson pitched. No shit. He's a moron. Why would he bet on his team to win when he could purposley make bad decisions in order to cost the Reds from winning. I would think it's a lot easier to blow a game in MLB than to win one. Just leave your pitcher on the mound after he's out of gas and you're almost assured to get beat.

I wish I could get Pete Rose's NCAA picks for these games. I'm sure betting against him is a winning strategy.

My question to you is: Is your left eye sharper than your right or is your right eye sharper than your left?

Good luck and as always life is dandy being a capper named Handy!!

By the way please don't buy an NCAA college basketball futures for this tournament. They're a rip off. If you like any of the teams simply parlay their ML odd's on your own and you will make a lot more money if you have the eventual winner.

UCLA ML - lock that shit up Handyman definitely a dandy play

As to the Jazz, Mehmet "I am an Allstar" Okur's has more important things on his mind given the recent birth of his daughter. He apparently didn't even want to make the road trip to LA tonight but was forced into it by Sloan. Jazz's general play will suffer as a result

Number2,

I don't bet totals. I'm not smart enough to have any idea how many total points are going to be scored in a game. If you're good at that then all the power to you. I can't forecast a total to save my life.

I'm pretty sure I will be betting the Wizards. I haven't made any bets as of yet.

I'm reading an awful lot of love for UCLA tonight. Interesting isn't it?

Where is the UCLA love coming from? They are ok, but I think they are missing something this year, I think they are primed for a letdown, I think Kansas is to big for them..

You might be right. I'm struggling to make a bet on this game. I just think UCLA wins a defensive grinder but putting big bucks on this game is not my cup of tea. There are better bets out there than this one.

Chances are Kansas will get down about 15 points and then come back to win by one or two points. That's the story line to almost every one of these games. What's going to change? We shall see.

By the way, CBS needs to hire an outside talent evaluator to review their college basketball announcers. Who the fuck died and made James Brown a play by play man over Kevin Harlam and Ian Eagle. You've got to be kidding me. Now you can have Gus Johnson. I think he's terrible but James Brown might be the worse they have and because he's the anchor of the NFL today he gets this gig. All I can tell you is I've resorted to mute and music. I've chosen not to listen to these clowns. Greg Gumbel is the best personality at CBS Sports. He's smoothe, witty and really good at just about what ever he does. The same can almost be said for Jim Nantz but Greg in my view is better. Dick Enberg has completely lost it. It's time to hang it up Dick.

CBS screwed up a few years ago when they didn't resign McDonough and opted for Enberg. What a joke. Sean is arguably one of the top play by play announcers in the business and he's suddenly on the bottom of the totem pole at ESPN. How guys like Mike Patrick and Brad Nessler get the big time gigs over McDonough is just a measure of seniority because Sean runs circles around these guys. Mike Patrick is pathetic and should be doing women's sports all year round and not just the women's final four. Is there a better crew than McDonough, Raftery and Bilas? That's all about McDonough. For those of you who don't know he once was the voice of the Red Sox. A very good one I should add and he made Jerry Remy a superstar broadcaster. Just like he's made Jay Bilas into an ESPN stud. It was just a few years back that Bilas was roving as a sideline reporter and one day they stuck him in the booth with McDonough and his career took off. I certainly hope that McDonough one day gets another opportunity to secure a number one seat because he deserves it. I listened to him call the Rose Bowl on ESPN radio and he was amazing. How Brent Musberger has that gig is just a joke. One day someone at ESPN will wake up and smell the coffee. The only guys at ESPN who I enjoy listening to are Jon Miller, Dan Shulman, McDonough and Gary Thorne. How about that fraud Ron Franklin. Brutal.

I disagree with the Wizards being a sharp bet. I don't think I'll be betting this game at all, but the Wizards have shown nothing in recent games, and frankly I don't think they warrant a bet against any western team at the moment, the Clippers are finally hot and should have a lot of backers after yesterday but that somehow isn't enough for me to believe the Wizards will win this one.

Satyr,

OK. Well I'm glad to hear another person not liking my bet. That's music to my ears. The Clippers playing their 10th game in 16 days and 5th in 7 nights is a prescription for a loser. Yes, Washington is playing 4 in 5 days but this is a team which no one should fear. LAC has beat up garbage this past week. Yes, say what you want but Utah flat out didn't show up last night. I'm throwing that game out. I watched it and the Jazz simply mailed it in from the opening tip. They played with no intensity what so ever. The Clippers beat up on a depleted Bobcat and Bucks squad. I'll give them one quality win on the road at Chicago. Other than that this team hasn't impressed me one bit. In fact they almost blew a 20 pt. lead at Milwaukee the other night.

My question to you is: Is your left eye sharper than your right or is your right eye sharper than your left?

My glasses make me sorta cross-eyed, and I don't have a dominant eye while wearing them. ...makes for interesting times point shooting from either hand.

I know you thrive off people disagreeing with your bets so I'm glad you're even more confident now. I never said I would back the Clippers here, so no need to explain why they're a bad bet tonight, and why they're a balloon waiting to be popped.

But you can put a mirror in front of those arguments and look how Wizards fit into it. Losing to a bunch of scrubs and rookies in Portland (who won't see the playoffs, so advantage Clipps, who at least have more motivation here), when Hibachi was supposed to show up and he didn't, barely beating Allenless Sonics and playing against Golden State in a game with no D but falling short in the end, being 12-22 I believe on the road, playing against a team that were slumping for almost a month, and were far from a hot bet for weeks now, are now laying 4. Not 6,7 but 4. I think the number is spot on.

I have no aspirations to put you off this bet (or any other bet), nor do I put "sucker bet" labels to anything I don't like, all I'm saying here is I don't like the Wizards.

Good luck with your bets.

The Zards are ridiculously inconsistent right now. Laying money on that team is a dangerous proposition.

I certainly can't disagree that betting the Wizards is dangerous. I've yet to pull the trigger on this bet but I really like it. We shall see.

Nobody Beats The Wiz! Just got at at 4.5 at Sportsbook.com. Either way I lose since they haven't paid anyone in a month!

Mr. Handy---Should I have the servants be on the pager for a 1 a.m. party? We have some extra liquor left over from last night.

Well.....I'm sure they are gonna pay....they advertise everywhere in the world and they have a huge billboard up near where I live in Boston. Their problem has been with their processors who pulled the 11th hour plug on them. The additional issue is their customer service people who tell you every two days that "your money is going out tomorrow". That has been going on for a month along with zero notations on their web site. Gambling 911 had a story that said they had everything fixed and were crediting people 5% of their withdrawal amounts with no rollover play required. I did not request a withdrawal and they added $100 to my account last Thursday so I won't complain. They need to do better communicating...that is the issue really since processing issues have been going on with other books too.

you do make alot more money like this huh

Yeah, you do. In fact a lot more. Futures bets are only advantageous when you buy something far in advance otherwise you're getting ripped off.

Well that Washington bet didn't work out but it could've. It came down to making and missing a free throw. Yes, the Clippers turned out to be the right side but really there was no right side to this game. The books had it right on the button.
