-Webb vs Francis. 1st 5innings under 4,5 looks good. Colorado's offence is cold and they have to face Webb right now. On other side Francis is ok and he can hold Arizona. I hope both pitchers will be there for at least 6 innings. I see low scoring game.

-Meche and Kansas +107. Looks good.

-maybe Detroit RL 1st 5 innings. Willis will play for first time in new team (reg season) and I am sure, he wants to show "something". On other side, Detroit have to start playing something. They started good yesterday/today - 5 runs in first three innings. They have to do it again, because their bullpen sucks. I was thinking to take RL on Detroit, but I can not take them with that bullpen. To risky for low odds. So only pick could be 1st 5 innings.

i mean i understand the bosox , yankees overvalue thing .... i even understand the cubs being overvalued a lot because of how many fans they have .... but what is the deal with seattle this year ?? batista is now road chalk material ??? have not capped this out but in preparing yesterday i did cap out loewen vs the mariners while i was waiting to see whether it would be trachsel or loewen starting today and he isnt bad. seattle may win a lot of games this year with bedard and kingfelix and even silva ... a decent starting rotation and not saying batista is atrocious but damn .... road chalk ?? what is so different about the seattle lineup this year ?? looks pretty much the same to me as last year ... my high hopes for the team rested with their pitching and those hopes werent tied to miguel batista.

A few I like before I do research, so my opinions are probably going to change.

I like the Indians RL wtih Sabathia returning to his hometown and the Tribe looking to avoid losing three straight.

Reds RL for sure. I can't bet it because I will never bet against the Phillies,but I'd be very surprised if the Reds don't win easily with that pitching matchup.

I like the OVER in Colorado. Webb has struggled against the Rockies. Francis has been a guy who gives up runs early in the season.

OMG White Sox +154. Yes Floyd sucks, but in a park like Comerica he could be decent. Willis is so overrated its scary and the White Sox have been mashing lefties.

yeah those numbers are old.

I dont think he has pitched against the orioles since 2005 and the decisions you speak of occurred even before that.. Those were some better lineups. The orioles currently on the roster bat just .270 against him and have homered off him only once in 111 at bats. So I looked at Batistas road games from last year as a more influential barometer of what to expect from him.

indeed the fact that the O's havent faced batista in so long helps him as well.

If you throw Eaton out there, then both Myers and Hamels miss the Mets series...if Myers goes today then he could go Thursday against the mets

Probably just playing it safe Smoke. Myers just returning to the rotation probably looking at easing him back and building arm strength . Give him the extra day type deal till the waether at least swarms up. So they give Eaton a chance to do something and if he foesnt it might be 1 and done...he's definetly on a short leash and you shouldnt tinkering with your roation in April to set up series . Its about egtting your work , improving and stay healthy for the first few weeks...IMHO...

Looking at Chicago . Oswalt took that liner in the opener didnt pitch well and has struggled at Wrigly at times. Marquis pitches better in day games , at home and on a bit extra rest. All which he has here. Hou has alot of RHs and they Cubbies should pull this out ....

Have to like Cincy like VK said...I agree Eaton doesnt look good at the moment and hasnt in awhile. I suspect he pitches decent though cause I know he is pissed at the organization and vice versa...Reds couldnt get that clucth hit today..

I think Wainwright has a real big year this year now that he's adjusted to starting. Chico, on the other hand, I'm not real high on. Time for the Nats to take a throttling.

It's funny...thats the NL card, then I see the AL card and there is just almost nothing that I like. I guess I'll call it a day. If I did make a pick on the AL side, it would be either Seattle, Cleveland, or Chicago...

One of the biggest reasons is Colorado offense right now.
In four games they scored just 6 runs and have avg.0,192 and are right now the worst offensive team.

last years 5-1 april record was a fluke. you dont do that with a 5.35 ERA and 1.59 whip. He's had an awful spring as well.

When you change leagues the edge normally goes to the pitcher and you should assume a maximun effort from him. Besides last year was after the managerial change and the team was pretty much toast. This is a talented pitcher in a new start.

Ballt?? Yeah I like Leowen and The O's again. Seattle hit LHP real well last season but they have gone from like 255 to 275 to 295 L3 years so IMO they have simply peaked vs LHP.

In Seattle bats seem to be carrying them Betancourt , Lopez and Beltre. Somewhat interesting is how both MI's seemingly flip flopped vs LHP the past 2 years...Betancourt went from 240 to 333 and Lopez from 331 to 244. Good thing is both are off to quick starts. The one glaring difference is the loss of Jose Guillen in teh middle of the order. Last year he was there best hitter vs LHP at 362 7Hr 23 RBI and an OPS above 1.000. you figure Ichiro and Ibanez not swinging well dont want to see a tall LHP throwing low to mid 90s. Morse has a nice career avg vs LHP but again he just got his 1st at bat of the year. Sexson , Vidro and Johijima are off to slow starts as well. Sexson suprisingly hasnt hit LHP well past few years , Vidro hit 310+ last year but had no Hrs and 12 rbis which makes it a soft number IMO and Johijima has been solid vs LHP past few years but a gain 3hrs and 23 rbi so Guillen lost takes away alot of run production IMO. Also some of these guys havent hit well vs BALT in there careers.

In Balt its the total opposite they face a RH who struggles on the road and badly vs LHB. He has struggled in April and in night starts probably a guy who rather not pitch in the cooler weather . Alot of Balt guys have hit well in there careers vs Sea and some vs Batista. key matchups for O's are Roberts , Markakis , Huff all guys who hit SEA pitching well. Plus the fact Jones is playing his 1st series vs his old team will add emphasis and Luke Scott get s a chance to be productive ina situation that suits him facing a RHP.

Clearly right now SEA is struggling for answers out the pen and that gives BALT an edge.

Loewen struggled in the Spring with a shoulder issue but got on the right track in his final 2 starts which is most important IMO..His stuff is real good just any Yankee fan. His problem walks and command...SEA 17 walks in 4 games and Wilkerson sitting out has 4. Last year just 389 BBs in 162 games !! can you say free swingers!! bad matchup IMO for SEA....

Hendrickson was good until on ebad inning vs NY and definetly not the same type lineup here..Fla has the better pen as well...Last 2 years Malholm RHB 300+ , BAA on the road 300++ , WHIP 1.60++ and ERA 6.00++...looking at Pitt there best hitters vs LHP are out in Wilson and Sanchez , Bay offto aslow start struggled vs LHP last year and Mclouth and Roche are LH...:cheers:
