The Reds are playing surprisingly(to me) good ball and have their ace Cueto on the mound. Damn hard not to go with the home team here. It will be very though to see how the Cardinals Wacha pitches in his first start of the season. He looked like a rising superstar late in 2013 but suffered a very rare shoulder injury (stress reaction) last year and saw his season end as a reliever Wacha was 5-6 with a 3.20 ERA in 19 starts before missing a few months and 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA in four starts against the Reds.
Cueto was brilliant in 2014 but just 1-2 in three starts vs. the Cardinals despite a 2.25 ERA. Cueto started this year about as strong as possible, blanking the Pirates on four hits and striking out 10 but getting a no-decision thanks to his bullpen. Cards Jay isn’t exactly a great hitter but he kills Cueto for some reason going 12-for-25 with three homers and seven RBIs. Cueto is 5-6 with a 4.19 ERA and 58 strikeouts in his career against the Cardinals.

I am not a big Kelly fan but I believe the RedSox are the better tm at present. Not much of a Warren fan either but I am impressed how the Yanks are battling back in every game and kepping things close. Just a 'feeling' pk on the side and like this total a lot. But after 19-inning marathon on Friday....who knows ?

967 Minnesota Twins/Chicago White Sox* Over 8 -143 x1Its hard for me to say which tm shows up today but since the Twins finally found their bats yesterday and the WhiteSox pitching staff continues to stink up the joint as they’ve allowed now 27 runs in their first four games. Pelfrey was 0-3 with a 7.99 ERA and 10 strikeouts last season. Pelfrey is 0-3 with a 6.66 ERA and 18 strikeouts in his career against the White Sox. Samardzija is 0-1 with a 7.50 ERA and one strikeout and is 1-1 with a 9.31 ERA and six strikeouts in his career against the Twins.

Two good starters here with Kluber allowing three hits and two runs while striking out seven over 7 and Price who allowed five hits and struck out five over 8.2 scoreless innings getting the win on opening day at home against the Twins. The big difference here imo, the Tigers have found their bats and look to be in better form early in the season

Good Morning tuck, Maybe u mean the Under in Phillie as the Clev game went Over I think.
I really wish U could start posting all of ur plays so U and I can bounce thoughts. I really like to read ur analysis on all games in all sports because we look at stuff so differently. Usually when agree on a play its golden.
As far as umps go, While I look at umps, and I think I was one of the 1st on the net to do so back in 99, over ten yrs of following umps closely, I have found,for myself at least, that I should capp the total without the ump included as I only found in those ten yrs of keeping close track, the umps only made a difference in about 20% of the games verses my capping, but if a capper is good enough to take advantage of that 20%, maybe its worth the effort. Because I capp and play most every game, it just inst a major factor im my capping style.That said, I do look at umps but only take their record into consideration in very few games.

A difficult game for me to capp as i like both tms but I have truly been impressed with the play of the Jays.Over the entire season I think the O's will be the better tm but there just isnt way I can go against the BlueJays ate present.
The Jays open the season @ 3-1 but they should be 4-0 after a very unlucky loss in New York in the middle game of that series. The Jays are playing outstanding defensive ball and their .271 team batting average is 40 points higher than the Orioles. Sanchez was tabbed as the tms closer but he’s been a starter his entire career and is very comfortable in that role. He’ll now make his debut as a starter after pitching 33 innings of relief after his call-up in late July of last year. The talking heads are singing praises regarding Sanchez and I believe they are correct.He has a lethal fastball that touches 98 and he induces a lot of groundballs.
But this is also a fade play on Jimenez who had 77 walks in 125 frames last year. He missed time with a bad ankle but his skills were off all year. Jimenez’s fastball was 2 MPH slower than the year before, his swing and miss rate fell hard and his first pitch strike rate is a complete mess. That's now three "disaster" seasons in four years. Wrong side favored.

let just say that I have never been able to capp Houston consistently and so far this yr has been any better. I have to believe that the Stros are not expected to be a major player in 2015 but if they continue to improve a little each year they could be a factor in the future.I hope so cause they have been the cellar long enough. I dont think much of either starter so I will try the Over.....sound like im not in love with either play and that would be correct. Completely open for opinions here but the half U plays are in

KC continues to be $$ in the pocket as they are just to damn hot not to stick with even though most peps are going look at this line and see the Angels ace Weaver a cheap -130 over Guthrie and swallow the juice immediately. Weaver opened the year against Seattle’s ace Felix Hernandez and took the loss but losing to King Felix is nothing to hang your head over. Guthrie’s decent control keeps his performance above water but as he showed in the 2nd half of last year, a hit% swing in the wrong direction can hurt. Guthrie’s strikeout / groundball rates are consistant. He's healthy,reliable and painfully avg but he pitches for a team that is off to a 4-0 start and he wins games with damn hot bats. That said, this one has nothing to do with backing Guthrie and everything to do with fading Weaver and the hot Royals bats
